FYI:
If the United States is serious about this, they could come back and help us build Keystone XL," Premier Jason Kenney said at a press conference on Monday. "If President Biden had not vetoed that project, it would be done later this year – 840,000 barrels of democratic energy that could have displaced the 600,000 plus barrels of Russian conflict oil that’s filled with the blood of Ukrainians." https://www.foxbusiness.com/lifestyle/canada-premier-keystone-xl-pipeline-biden-killed-russian-oil That’s from the Canadians…but the strategy of “playing dumb” now from the idiots above who supported that the move and say dumb shit like that are the direct reason why gas is 4.40 a gallon.
chico you're a fool. https://news.yahoo.com/oil-gas-executives-not-joe-204337317.html Oil And Gas Executives Say It's Not Joe Biden Holding Back Domestic Production The top reason domestic energy production hasn’t ramped up isn’t Joe Biden’s green energy agenda, according to oil company executives. Instead, it’s a lack of enthusiasm from investors. A majority of oil and gas executives surveyed by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas this month pointed to pressure from investors as the top obstacle to growth. Less than 10% blamed government regulation. “We are maintaining discipline in capital spending to maintain great internal rates of return,” said one executive at an unnamed exploration and production firm, referring to profits from earlier investments. The Dallas Fed survey comes at a moment of fierce political debate over rising gas prices and overall high inflation, with Republicans blaming higher fuel costs entirely on Biden. Biden’s critics have ignored the fact that Wall Street investors are pressuring U.S. drillers to limit production amid record prices. More than half — 59% — of the 139 executives surveyed by the Dallas Fed listed investor pressure as the primary reason producers are keeping production down. Still, in anonymous comments collected by the Fed, several executives did blame their woes on the Biden administration’s green agenda. “I feel that the primary reason that publicly traded oil producers are restraining growth despite high oil prices is a two-headed monster, with capital discipline and governmental regulations due to the green progressives in the administration’s ear,” one executive from an oil and gas support service firm wrote. “The talk about price gouging is tiresome,” complained another. “Discussion of federal leases and those leases being unused without an honest discussion about all the constraints and regulatory issues to drill is also unhelpful.” But other comments reflected the pressure from investors to avoid plowing capital into new exploration and drilling projects. “Investors dumped huge funds into shale drilling only to discover that when oil prices dropped, very little value existed at the end of the day,” one executive said. “Investors have demanded restraint and capital discipline of their client companies.” |

Not including Trump, who do you think are the 2 names on each side that come to mind? (1 house and 1 senate member from each)
Neo-cons are conservatives that have a moral interventionist inclination, while the Putin wing are populist pro-Russian isolationists. McCain was probably the epitome of a Neo-con, of those currently in the Senate I'd say Graham, Rubio and possibly McConnel and others would lean that way. Marjorie Taylor Green would be the best example of the Putin wing although she is from the House (Can't think of any Senators that are). |
Re: The Most Fresh & Cordial Political Thread Ever
Well McCain was probably the epitome of a Neo-con, but of those living probably Graham would be closest to neo-con thinking, Marjorie Taylor Green would be the best example of the Putin wing although she is from the House (Can't think of any Senators that are).
I probably should have left out the house/senate split. Internet discussions are hard for the fine point of discussions. From my perspective, it read like there was a very distinct line that you felt most republicans landed on. Either neo-con or putin wing. |

I used to semi some what like Levin. I listened to his show on WMAL on my rides home from work. He could give conservative talking points without the hystrionics.
When Trump first won, one of the big talking points was mexico would pay for the wall through tariffs and tariffs on china would be paid by China. Levin clearly stated over and over thats not how sanctions work, the american people pay for tariffs. "I worked in the Reagan administration and we invented tariffs blah blah blah .." First few months of Trumps presidency I thought Levin is really going to stick to what he believes and not go MAGA. Then Levin went MAGA .. havent heard his show in a while. Not even sure its still on WMAL. --------- there are all talking heads. find someone who preaches your view point then just tune into them exclusively and swim around in your nice confirmation bias fish bowl. i dont get worked up on what a levin or carlson say. listening to WMAL today and they had a guy sitting in for Chris Plantt (thank god) and callers literally went like this (and the host is trying to talk about how Ukraine sunk a russian ship at port) caller: "When you have the whole weight of the govt against one party, when one party controls the ballots, when one party controls the media ... why are we trying to bring change through the ballot boxes?" host: "well i hope you dont mean a revolution but I do believe the way forward is through ballot boxes .. I hope you dont mean you want a revolution" caller: "well when the govt is controlled by one party, one party is in control of the ballots putting up cardboard boxes, when one party has all these billionaires giving money .." A LOT of conservatives legit think the election was rigged and the Dems secretly control the govt |

Even chico rocks trump hard but I dont see him spending his weekends holding up pro-life signs at liberal colleges. I bet chico drinks beer on the weekends, elbow to elbow with liberals and rednecks a like. but that extreme 20% seems to dominate our news, our social media and politicians pander to the extreme base. I probably agree with around the same percentage with Carlson. While nonniey is right about the definition of neo cons…and that’s an older strategy. The world changes, politics change, I disagree with his the populist’s view. I really think strategies can’t be evenly applied, imo it should be different in the Middle East, Russia, South America and other places abroad. There is animosity in the GOP for Bush’s weapons of mass destruction witch hunt. Nothing has ever turned me more off in recent history than that. I really disliked Bush in his second term and actually voted Obama his first term. |

The problem with Trump, he got things done. And was right about a lot of things. That’s the big problem most people have with him. It’s easy to trash Trump if he failed… if he had record high inflation, record illegals crossing across the boarder, allowed Russia to take Ukraine, record high energy prices, record high murder rates in liberal cities, record drug overdoses, had kids underperforming in schools across the country, Afghanistan debacle, etc. So if that was his record, I could def see why he would trash him…that’s what you would expect from a guy not experienced and performing terrible. |

It’s really interesting to see what people believe justice is. Is it justice when a Fairfax county prosecutor gives fives months on multiple felonies to an animal who is released and a couple weeks later kills multiple homeless people across major cities.…or is it trash raised teenage predators who car jack an immigrant killing him only to be convicted as juveniles who will be released after the age 21? Maybe it’s justice that someone can get arrested in NYC for a hate crime against a Jew to be let out the same day only to be re-arrested a couple days later for another hate crime? I agree, we got a long way to go. Maybe the actual prosecution laws and locking up of criminals would be a start |
