He should work for it though. They were 4-12 in 2020 and 4-13 in 2021 without him. Look I realize he is a good QB and I don't see anyone saying different but it's almost two full seasons since he has played , this is a new team , new Coaches , he hasn't earned or deserves this type of money .
Yeah, the contract itself is nuts. I can't believe Cleveland ponied up that much. He better play at an elite level or he and Cleveland will get even more roasted.

Seems to me that Kaepernick got blackballed for a lot less.
I'm glad he found somewhere to play again and try to get his life back on track. And I'm glad it wasn't us, because we have too much shit going on with Snyder already, it just wouldn't have worked here. I would have supported him, but Cleveland is a better spot for him.

There won't be criminal charges, but they will all likely still get paid in civil court, so let the man work.

That article is just typical Peter King drivel, that probably has been written by 100 different writers already, because its such low hanging fruit to score some brownie points.
Even if half of what he's accused of is true it's pretty disgusting. Good thing not everyone can look past harassment and abuse so easily and just write it off as scoring some brownie points.

And in previous situations, Goodell has been very trigger happy with suspensions.

Also, the Browns accommodated his contract to deal with suspensions, by making his first year only account for $1 million of his contract total.

Unfortunately we will never know if there was abuse. If so he has to live with that.

I mean, playing devils advocate he got a happy ending from some masseuse. So he ripped the towel off and turned over next time and the girl was like gtfo. This cycle continued until one was like hey i could make a lot of money saying this guy harassed me or abused me - when in actuality it was a proposition. A sleazy pervy proposition but a proposition none the less. They said no, he was like later. If i knew that to be the case I really wouldn’t consider it criminal by any means. Now if he got forceful with them, wouldn’t take no for an answer and threatened them well lock his ass up.

I don’t know any of this to be true or not, but it is possible he simply asked??!

There's nothing here that makes it sound any better. In fact anytime someone tries to explain this mess away it just sounds creepier.

Not looking past anything, but there won't be criminal charges. And if there isn't, he should be able to play.

And he found a team that agreed. And there were plenty more that did too.

Clearly, he is into some weird shit, and probably needs some form of counseling, but that could apply to tons of players for all we know.

Watson isn't the person that he portrayed. He had the perfect imagine and it turns out he is a creep.

Can't believe Clev gave him all that money. Dude has the same amount of playoff wins as Cousins.

There was more to it. He was looking these women up on social media. He looked them up, some w/ little experience in massage therapy, booked them and then did his freaky shit.

Yes no crime was probably committed. All it proves is he has some real issues.

Per Jay Glazer

“the colts are finalizing a deal for QB Matt Ryan”

Lmao they went from Wentz to old ass Matt Ryan. Who I think is the falcons best QB ever but dude is almost40

I think Ryan is better than Jimmy G., who seemed as their only other option. Just curious what they are giving up for him.

MTK 03-21-2022 01:39 PM

Ryan is definitely the best option right now. I'd definitely take him for the next 3 years over Jimmy G or Mayfield.

Here it is:

@RapSheet
Trade!! The #Falcons are in agreement on a trade of QB Matt Ryan to the #Colts, per
@MikeGarafolo
,
@TomPelissero
and me. ATL gets a 3rd back.

Fallout from the Deshaun Watson situation, with Ryan starting over in Indy. Ryan gets a contract adjustment with more guaranteed money.

Shows you how little they think of these QBs in the draft…

Agree with Ryan over Jimmy

Just a 3rd rounder? Man, wonder if he was on our radar at all. Really like that move for Indy.

I guess Wentz is someone we could build around for many years if he pans out, Ryan you better have this team in 5th gear right away because he has like 2 good years left maybe.

This is correct.

Also, what’s the market for Baker? 2nd round pick, maybe?

Carolina, Falcons, and Seattle.

San Fran might keep Jimmy G at this point.

Little surprised Carolina’s “Ja” Rhule hasn’t made a move for Baker, seems like a guy he would like

I don’t even know what is supposed to sound better because i have absolutely no idea what actually happened. Nobody on this board does.

I remember when Big Ben was accused of having his bodyguards watch the door while he raped some girl in a bathroom. Or when he was accused of raping Andrea Mcnulty who he had into his room to help fix his tv? Said she begged him to stop and wound up in a mental health facility. Imagine if that happened today in the me too era? Maybe 20 other women would have come forward.

There is creepy and there is criminal.

So the Colts basically traded out Wentz for Ryan. Good move for Indy. I think Ryan still has some good years left.

They better get home some weapons because quite a few of wentz’s TDs last year were him scrambling around making plays

I like this deal better than the Wentz trade. Man, could have had a starter for less than 15 million and kept our picks.

I might be wrong but it seems like Winston wasn't even on the team's QB list.

Press release from HOF about inaugural "Awards of Excellence" recipients. A few with Washington ties. Some of these men had amazing careers and devoted amazing time to the game and their franchise. Definitely worth reading their blurbs.

What Indy losses in the hero plays they will gain from the back breaking plays.

It looks like Atl is in full tank mode.

We already went the route of an older QB and it didn't work out so well before. Technically, we've had two older QBs come down with injury (Fitz, Alex).

As the market shrinks some one is going to get Baker for a 6th and make Cleveland pay half his salary.

if the browns didn't give him that kind of money, he wouldn't have gone to the browns. the low 2022 base salary and full guarantee (including if suspended) allowed the browns to give up less to the texans in draft picks/players to get him.

Is he worth that money? probably not, and the PR will have some impact on browns' revenue, but if he wins 12 games... it'll be a win for them financially and the fans will start caring about his issues a lot less (see Barry Bonds, etc).
