I could never do that. It takes too much patience. I have two neighbors that are sheriffs, and they have tried to recruit me...hell no. If someone shot at me, or spit at me (happens a lot) I'd get so mad that I'd shoot them!

LOL...so if you did a routine pull over (if you were a cop) and someone started calling you names and spit at you...would you just sit there and take it? As a cop, you need to. As a human, I know I couldn't / wouldn't.
If someone shot at me, I would take that as someone trying to kill me. I would hunt them down.

I keep trying to convince my gf to let me buy a gun.

I'm going to be living in college park, off of rt. 1, and that place is dangerous. She's refusing to, well, she's getting really mad.

I think getting a German Shepard is probably the better thing to buy. No one is going to barge into a house with a big ass mean dog. I'd probably end up shooting someone by accident anyways.

Plus I'll be able to, well, she wont get angry at me.

German Sheppards are amazing dogs. They have a truely loving heart, and they are VERY intelligent. Add to that they can be a great watch dog, and that makes a great dog.
I didn't want a "watch dog", I wanted lazy easily maintainable dogs, so I have bassets. But if I didn't have a gun and a security system, I would have gotten a German Sheppard.
I also like Rottwielers, but often times they go off on people in uniforms and random things, and while they love their family to death, sometimes it's hard to have visitors with them.

ps- I say get the gun anyway. What is her main argument to not have one?

when you commit one of the "seven deadly crimes" in GA no matter how old you are you are yried as an adult, and their lawyer tried to get me for Aggrravated Battery but the charge ended up being 1st degree assault, but the case was dropped
