How will that hurt Obama? He's not the one on record saying he wants to end FEMA or completely gut it. Which is why the Mittster has been keeping his mouth closed as of late at his faux photo ops. |

While I'm a business owner and not a supporter of Obama if he is re-elected my business will be just fine. I have grown almost every year sense 1994 even when others in my same business have lost business. If a business owner allows an administration or product pricing (within reason)to run them out of business then they probably should not own a business. I'm also speaking for the small business owner who alot of the federal regulations do not affect. I do know owners of larger businesses not hiring because of increased cost from health care and additional regulations but the business is still thriving. Most regulations like health care affect the employees more then the employer. |
Re: 2012 Presidential Election (free for all edition)
Good news. A large truck load of wtaer has arrived and several large generators have arrived in time to help the people of in NY without power or water. OP's, its for the maraton runners so keep your hands off their water and get back in line for that gas. These generators are for the Maraton. Yes police will deal with the looting after they are done with trafic control at the marathon. Sad.

I mean downright insensitive. I have to say Mayor Bloomberg should be crucified for this lack of judgement. Dedicating city resources to a race during this time is unthinkable. ****ing idiot.
The New York Road Runners Club, which organizes the world-famous race, is paying for the generators, which were supplied by Long Island-based On Site Energy for the massive, 80-yard-long tent, which also will be used by runners carbo-loading during a pre-race pasta dinner tomorrow. Neither would say how much the machines cost, but a Fire Department permit revealed a $37,500 fee to run them constantly through Nov. 6. “These are our private generators. We are not draining any resources from the city’s plan to recover,” Road Runners spokesman Richard Finn angrily insisted.
|

I'll add how can 20 some thousand people run through that mess and not think their time would be better spent helping the people suffering. Think what could be done in those few days if 20 thousand people came in and helped but most are too concerned about their little race. F$%K the city abd all involved for not lending a helping hand. This could go in the thread under the worse of people. |

SS33's Final Election Prediction - Mark this down and get to your bookies:
Romney - 295 (Winner) Obama - 243 Based on latest Rasmussen polls in battlegrounds, VA +3, NC +6, FL +2, OH +2, NH +2, CO +3, Iowa +1, WI Even, all go Romney. NV - Obama +2 goes Red. Senate: don't go to the bookie with this one, it's a little optimistic based on Romney pull-thru for Senate candidates: GOP - 51 seats Dem - 49 seats. Again, based on Rasmussen polls; CT, FL, OH go Dem. MT, PA, VA, WI all at Dem +1 or Even get a Romney pull-thru and go GOP. |

Re: 2012 Presidential Election (free for all edition)
I hate marathons (and road races in general). I hate not being able to drive in Arlington or walk down the sidewalk to work because there's Marine Corp Marathon crap everywhere. Normally the lazy bastards leave all that stuff on the street for a week before they clean up. The hurrican forced a quick cleanup this year!
The fact that they're still having the race is very sad. |
