Re: The "Inside Word" on the QB Search

So the lastest word that I heard today was that Shanahan LOVES Weedon and wants to move down in the 1st round to get more picks. Heard this on Lavar and Dukes. If this rumor is true then I'm all for this. We're not getting Luck or RG3 so why not try and move down? I like this way of thinking.
He's not going to just out of pads and right into a clip board. There is a big difference between being a player and being a coach. There is a progressive process. You normally start out as a quality control guy, move up to an assistant position coach, and go from there. I realize Peyton Manning is an amazing student of the game but it just doesn't work that way.
I didn't say make him OC or QB coach, I said see if he would like to stay close to the game and work as an Asst.
weeden at 6 won't happen
Of course not. However, if they mess around and move too far down and someone else grabs him then we're screwed. If he's their guy then you have to go get him. Look at the guys that went high last year? Ponder and the guy on Tenn. They both went higher than they should've. But because teams are pressed for QB play they went higher than expected.
and if he said no?
Then I'd have to have more information in regards to his recovery.

I really don't want PM. My first choice would be Flynn because he's young has shown he can make all the throws and is healthy. If Flynn is out I'd take PM over Orton and either hope PM is ready or plan on said Rookie stepping up early.

Ideally trading back for more picks and grabbing Weeden is my choice, but what you say does worry me. I've seen rumors that Miami is interested in him, Dallas interviewed him and what better way to screw the Skins over the then to take the very QB they want in the draft? I've even heard the Patriots were interested in him. Age smage, if he was early 20's word is he would be close to the top.

???

If all I had to go on is what we know now probably not, but you don't take him without bringing him in and talking to him, talking with his doctor, having him show what he is currently capable of doing. If everything points to him improving as the doctors say then I don't see how you pass on him.

Not because I wanted him but rather him not being a free agent makes getting RGIII just a wee bit harder.

What are some of your guys opinions on Henne? I believe GTripp had some positive things to say about him, which is rare :P. I see him in the Jason Campbell, Orton level of QB. Now that I think about it he might be a better option than Orton, cheaper. maybe higher ceiling too

To me Henne is a poor mans Jason Campbell.
To me Henne is a poor mans Jason Campbell.
In what way are they similar? One has had a kind of boring, run-of-the-mill productive career, while the other was good through age 25, and then got injured in a contract year.
