It starts getting better with the third book. The fifth and sixth books are excellent.
Are you telling me that the books can make sense out of this utter BS that has swept the world and been accecpted as greatness. Why dont you just make a movie called Ass and pass it off as a masterpiece.
I fell in love with these books and the characters. If it's not for you then fine, but don't belittle the ones who find them interesting. What do you care anyway? When you actually read them then you can tell me why they aren't worth a crap.

They are all the same author though aren't they?
I think I have difficulty with those kinds of fantasy book. I hate the cronicles of narnia, but liked the movie. For some reason I just can't read those types of books.

Well, I hated reading before I got into these books. I think Rowling has a great imagination IMO.

Some of us read books and some of watch movies. To each his/her own. But if you are going to put a movie out and hype it up, then make it worth while. Some stories are meant for books and not for the screen.

By the way I never commented on the books. I said that the movies are crap.

Happy 38th Anniversary of Neil Armstrong's and Buzz Aldrin's Walk on the Moon everyone!!

How are you planning on celebrating? Me and my buddies will probably do the usual...put motorcycle helmets on, a ski jacket, and some boots, jump off a stepstool onto a trampoline and hop up and down on one foot (you know, to simulate the experience)

You could say the same thing about every book that has been made into a movie. Movies never do the books justice. It's only hyped up because the studios know the poor, unenlightened sheep like me will pay money to see it.

That I do not doubt. I just think some books are better than others in terms of keeping my attention. I think I need to relate somehow...can't do it with potter. Love it on the screen, but not in a book.

hate to tell you this angry, but Potter is WILDLY successful on the screen. The books apparently make amazing movies.

There you go with the dog on stats again. Just because everbody went to see it doesnt make it successfull. After the first One I went to see the second thinking that it was going to get better, it didn't. I did the same for the third and it didn't get any better either. They keep you wanting more but never give it to you. In other words I may have been duped twice, but I will watch the rest on DVD.

That was a reference to the movie Idiocracy. I wasnt calling the movie or the book ass I was making a reference to how boring it was.

No biggy...to each his own.
I actually liked the 4 previous movies, this one just seemed like overkill to me, like a lame bridge to the next movie (or book).

I know there are lots of things I like that others don't, just as there are plenty of things you like that others won't like. That doesn't make it dumb or stupid, just that we're different. No big deal if you ask me.

ps- I think you and angry have gotten to the point where he is trying to push your buttons and you seem to respond well most of the time, but this one pushed a little too hard.

Umm, I beleive the definition of a successful movie is the money it brings in.

I'm not called statman for nothing. :D

That movie stole 2 hours of my life!
The idea, I actually liked. It doesn't seem to be too far from the truth, we do seem to be getting dumber and dumber, and only the poor and dumb are reproducing at high rates. They could have done a much better job IMO.

The 5th book was over 800 pages. I think they did the best they could. I wish they had made the movie 3 hours long.

Well that is something different. I base a movies quality on how well it does in the awards. How much money it makes is a testiment to the Marketing.

I agree. they could have done a better job, but I will continue to reference it for two reasons. It makes me laugh and it resembles the truth as you stated.

I completely disagree...there have been several movies to win "awards" that sucked. It's all in someone's opinion when it comes to awards...the only way to truely judge is by how "popular" it is.
ps- Potter was not that well marketed. Same with Star Wars movies. They don't need that much marketing.

I think one of the best movies is the replacements, they need to make a sequel too!

There were definitely parts that made me laugh, but the overall story sucked and I think they had a good subject to grow on too. Oh well.

Are you talking about the football movie with Reeves?
If so, I liked the movie. I do not see a sequel though. IT would be as bad as Major League 2.

Yes, that's the movie...I loved it.
True, major league 2 was not the best...part of that is because of people that were missing. Snipes should have stayed. I have all three movies (the third was better than the 2nd if you ask me, but that's not saying much).
Major league is one of my all time favorite movies.

I think it's too late to do a sequel to the replacements anyway...too many people are too old.

Like I said, I think you guys flirt with pushing the perverbial buttons too hard, too often.
Not that I'm saying she's sensitive, but she is a woman. You joke with her like she's one of the guys, and well, she's not. Don't get me wrong, that's OK that she's not. You just need to be careful.

Maybe kids involved?
Maybe Hudson gets killed by Michael Keaton (I forgot the character's name , it's late) and lightning seeks revenge?
Who knows, there is a SLEW of ways to take it. Hell they made 3 toy stories didn't they?
