NFL Network Analyst's Top Prospects..
Mayock's top prospects at each position
I see players rated higher than what mock drafts have them going at b/c of coverage and hype. He has C Eric Wood for Louisville as #1, and Mack as #3, and Luigis from Arkansas is #5, with Wood and Luigis as 3rd round projections. Same with G Andy Levitre from Oregon St....ranked #1 but also 3rd rd projection. So there might find good interior OL value in the 3rd round Also, no NFL caliber DEs are 1st round potential, all of em are OLB in 3-4 NFL defenses. |
Re: NFL Network Analyst's Top Prospects..
I'm surprised he has Mack as the #3 center. Maybe because he's being considered for the guard position?

Re: NFL Network Analyst's Top Prospects..
I don't pay attention to Mayock or Kiper. Nobody knows what some of these players will turn out to be, most of the players picked are a gamble and few are a sure thing.

He could play G but is being touted as a C.. |
Re: NFL Network Analyst's Top Prospects..
Alex Mack is versatile enough to be a solid starter for years at OG, but probably has more potential to be a Pro-Bowler at C. With the 13th pick, I think there are better choices

No doubt. If taking an O-lineman @ 13 he ought to be a tackle... maybe only left tackle. |

Did Gresham (TE, Okla) opt to stay in school?

Yup. He and Bradford. That should make for a filthy little combination next year. I think Gresham had both Sooner TDs against my Gators. Scout.com: Bradford, Gresham to Return! |

If we could trade down and still get Mack that would be great, but I would still take him at 13. All year long there has been constant bashing about how bad Rabach has been. How our line would be so much better without him as the center. I think Mack would make a significant difference on our line and just as Manning hates to be without Saturday, Jason could see what it's like to have a center he can count on, game in and game out. It would be to Jasons benefit and the team as a whole, to have a player of this caliber anchoring the line for the next decade or more. He can handle the big tackles and is very smart. I doubt we'll get him, but this is the kind of guy I want on our team. |

And move Samuels to RT and Jansen to RG. Is there an opening day starting LT in the draft? Of course, I'd still prefer trading up for Aaron Curry or sitting still for Brian Cushing. |
Re: NFL Network Analyst's Top Prospects..
I would definatley take Aaron Curry, but Cushing i wouldn't take with the 13th pick no waaaayyyy..

Re: NFL Network Analyst's Top Prospects..
Mayock and Kiper frequently go against the grain in their player rankings. For example I frequently see guys in Kiper's top 25's (close to the draft mind you) that end up in the second or third round. And Mayock, well all you have to know is the guy has Andre Smith as the third best tackle in this years draft.

Well given the fact that Cerrato wants more picks, I would say this goes against what he wants to do. |

I would rather go for Jason Brown in free agency though, and spend a high draft choice on a tackle. Brown is still very young, and in a weak economic climate with the Ravens virtually unable to put in a competitive deal, and with Matt Birk and Jeff Saturday both with expiring contracts ahead of him, getting Brown in to a Rabach-type cheap deal will not be difficult. |
