I some of the highlights of the Steelers game posted here and I came away very impressed with Ramsey's pocket movement. He has truly improved in that department. The balls are also coming out of his hands with some authority and confidence. I'm really excited to see how much he has improved.

Yes, I will agree with you on Ramsey's strength this season, but his inability to throw a nice fade route, ala Campbell has me concerned after this season.

Brunell is looking great this preseason. Brunell has truly impressed me with his poise & ability to move & throw with good accuracy.

Ramsey will start, but if he goes down I confident that our backup will not faulter.

Yeah, definitely agree and I think you can attribute it to the amount of protection he's getting up front.

Let me just add this.... Ramsey makes 1 bad pass for every 3 attempts. Not sure if that's good enough yet..?

Untill he learns to throw the ball away & not force bad passes, Ramseys still in my dog house woof woof...!!

I feel much better about Ramsey after the Steelers game.

I also feel much better about him after seeing some other young QBs around the league struggle alot more than he has... Palmer, Carr, Harrington, Roethlisberger, etc.

I'm glad you pointed out Carr and Harrington because those are the other guys that were taking in the Ramsey draft - way before Ramsey. The thing about those two guys is that they have been given every opportunity to succeed and they have still played at a level at or below the way Ramsey has played - who has been fighting an uphill battle since he got into the league.

I think Ramsey is the type of guy where, if he doesn't make it here, will go somewhere else and in a couple more years, become a really quality started a la Brad Johnson in his prime.

I understand Ramsey's fundamentals appear much improved but you have to be concerned with him, the bottom line is performance. He has to perform this year or he will be gone. I like PR alot I think he got baptised with fire as a rookie but he has to overcome his crappy circumstances. Things have changed around him the oline looks better, the offense has grown, his WR's are better he must step up!!

I am a big Ramsey fan, but I am concerned like the rest of you about the one "bone-head" play everygame that he seems to make. Last week it was the INT that went for a TD, the week before it was the INT in the Endzone. I don't really know how you coach him out of those decisions, because they are so instinctive and instincts also make you a great QB. Maybe it is a maturity thing, or maybe his decison making will get better. I hope the playcalling will help put Ramsey in a better situation this year. However not to be too critical, other QBs make the same mistakes, like Pennington did twice last week in the red zone (threw 2 INTS) and lets all face it, sometimes the defense just makes a great play.

Ramsey's weak point right now is pass placement. yeah thats a pretty esssential thing to work on, but watching the Steelers game i have to say he's totally overcome any of the "shell shock" he's had in the past years.

he showed serious determination and awareness in the face of those blitzes, and he almost made some really good things happen on the move. I remember Aikman actually being shocked for a moment as Ramsey squirmed from some rushers with his eyes locked downfield the whole time.

he's strong, aware and fearless, things we've always suspected of him. only thing he really has to prove is that he can place that thing. if Ramsey will ever reach his potential as a QB it will be this season and behind this O-Line, screw the risk, he needs to play against the Baltimore defense and get all the reps we can give him.

I'm not sure how much blame we should put on him for that INT last week. It looked like a miscommunication between him and Thrash. Ramsey appeared to be throwing it to a spot and Thrash simply pulled up.

It wasn't as bad in my opinion as the two he threw against the Bengals. Those two were just head scratchers. The one against the Steelers was a little more understandable.

I think the td pass to Cooley was a bad decision. There was somebody(not sure who) wide open on about the three yard line with nobody between him and the goal line. He could have walked in but Ramsey threw the ball up for grabs fortunatly Cooley made that terrific catch. It could have been another pick in the end zone. Not to mention the two underthrown balls to Moss. Still a sub par performance IMHO although much improved.

it was Mike Sellers, and i made the same exact stink about it in the game review thread. Ramsey just got too excited so close and forced it to his buddy. Cooley was very well covered, and he'll only be more covered during the regular season. its great Ramsey has someone he can trust in the endzone, but he's gotta be more resourceful within the 20 especially now with McCants gone.

That was Mike Sellers who was wide open. I do agree that easily could've been another pick....since there were 3 defenders around him. Sellers would've been 'safe' option.

Ifa, mighta, woulda, coulda... It was a TD. Period. I would like to know when scoring was a bad thing? Just like the "underthrows" - sometimes the underthrow is used as a specific technique depending on coverage that allows your reciever a better chance on the ball, teams practice it. Heck - I am just glad we are getting long completions.

Pretty soon folks will be bashing Santa for still using the outdated "chimney method"...or not rotating his reindeer as much as he should

I agree PR looked alot better at getting time in the pocket and not getting sacked.
