Philly Questions for Tony McGee

Please start posting your questions here for Tony and his Warpath blog. I'll shut the thread down around 3pm Monday.

Thanks

Tony,

Who would you say played the best game tonight? Or was it more of a great team performance than anything? What was the biggest play of the game?

Is the team offense getting better each week?

Re: Philly Questions for Tony McGee

My belief is the biggest problem this team possesses is the inability to run the ball, we see time and again in short yardage situations Gibbs has no confidence in our ability to get 1 or 2 yards, case and point against philli when we had 3rd and 2 deep in their end and we were passing, our line is not capable of knocking guys off the ball, and seem most of the time when it counts can't even neutralize the defensive penetration, Portis to me seems slow to the hole, Betts hit's the hole much quicker, and much harder, it's my belief that a great line can make an average RB look very good, but how much of the blame should go to either Portis, or the O-line? We have some big names on our O-line, but is their bark bigger than their bite? Or is Portis just not the everydown inside type runner Gibbs thought he was getting? I believe it's both.

why do you think mark brunell looks so different this year?last year his arm basically looked tired.now just about everything he throws has some zip to it

What would the Redskins record be if Arrington had started from the first game of the season?

Tony,

So we saw some multiple receiver sets last night with minimal protection, do you think this was something that we had to do against the Eagles, or is it something that should be implemented into the gameplan more and why?

Greetings Tony, we are now halfway through the season. What do you see as the most important weakness we need to fix going forward? What would have the most dramatic impact?

tony, is brunell just not seeing patten, or is patten just not getting open? through 8 games this year he's been invisible, and it seems like having a viable #2 WR would really push this offense over the top (like the bengals etc). Right now we've got moss, and cooley as our entire passing game...

also, do you think there will be a DE worth pursuing in FA or the draft this year (that we'd actually be able to grab)? besides some depth problems and a possible replacement at WR #2, our DLine still seems to be a major weakness that we couldn't find a way to address last year.

Tony,

First, thanks for taking our questions.

What are the chances Arrington is back with the team next year?

Tony-

Thanks for your time.

Will there be a credible third receiving threat on this team? I honestly don't care if it's Patten, Jacobs, Thrash, or Coy Gibbs, I'd just like to know that on third and long, we could consider someone not named "Cooley" or "Moss" to be a go to guy.

hey Tony, what's your take on the offensive line? Samuels is being paid like a shut down tackle and he's not shutting them down, now, maybe his injury played a roll .but there just seems to be something missing, can't put my finger on it .inconsistant.i guess i'm waiting for them to dominate a team and dictate like we used to see.thanks for your time.

Tony,

Opposition big plays kill us. What actually has happened to Coach Williams and that #3 Ranked D aside from the Smoot/Pierce/Arrington angle?

Tony,

What did Joe Gibbs do in the past to win the turnover battle or to fix the turnover problems if the Redskins had too many giveaways? Why isn't it working so far or is it a slow process?

Fan favorite Chris Cooley had a career day on Sunday, will his role increase as Moss gets more double coverage?

David Patten failed to get open yesterday and all of his production came from a pass interference call, is David capable to be a strong number 2 on this team or will someone else have to step up?
