Anyone else nervous?

I don't know about you guys but, I 've been nervous about the Seattle game from the moment we won last night. Guess that really dosen't matter, I was nervous all last week for the Bucs game. Go Skins!

Re: Anyone else nervous?

give me atleast till tommorrow then i'll be over tampa and all into seattle. it is a wierd cycle, every week after two days the game feels so long ago. Tampa is becoming ancient history. I am not horrified by anyone but am scared of everyone. We can win or lose to anyone left in the playoffs and that is expecially true of the NFC

Re: Anyone else nervous?

Gotta be nervous, its the playoffs against the #1 seed. We're defintley underdogs, but this isnt some super-power team. They might be a little bit better than us, they might not be. Its a team we beat already this year, so its a winnable game. Theres no gaurntee in this game, and we have to play solid, but I'm no more nervous this week than I was against Tampa Bay last week.

Relax, just be thankful we are where we are at. One game at a time. Seattle will be tough, but i think we are now a "playoff" team.

No matter who the Skins play it will be a challenge, and on the road. But the Skins have already beaten Seattle once, they can do it again. Besides look who Seattle has played, they are in the worst division in football and got to play Arizona, SF, and St. Louis twice each. They got beaten soundly in Jacksonville. And look at their wins. They squeaked past mediocre Atlanta at home 21-18. Got past St. Louis 37-31. Barely beat Dallas at home 13-10. Barely got past the woeful Niners 27-25. Barely beat the Giants at home 24-21. Barely beat the terrible Titans 28-24.

Seattle is definitlely beatable.

No, not nervous. Excited maybe. I am just glad that I can watch another week of my favorite team play football!!!
I love the Redskins and its been a long time since I got to watch them play more than 20 games (incl preseason) in a year! We are in the playoffs. We won a playoff game. Therefore, the Redskins are a playoff team, no doubt. I still can see us going all the way. What would the critics say then????

This season is almost like a dream, and I definitely don't want to wake up!

Seriously though, to me this has been a great season already, everything from here on out is just icing on the cake.

6 weeks ago could you imagine someone saying the Redskins would not only make the playoffs but go on the road and punk Tampa in their own backyard??

I'm not exceedingly worried about the Seattle game. Our defense should keep it close. I'm only nervous about our offense - which has struggled woefully since Brunell hurt his knee against the Giants.

Way to do your homework. im definately at ease now about the game. For one thing our defense knows how to make a team one demensional and Seattles D wont do what the Bucs D did to us. All we have to do is what we always do and thats stop the run<we do that> and pressure the qb<we do that also> Now im not gonna say its gonna be easy at all, but our offense will definately be on the right page this week. We got three more games in us, we can rest in a month.<and we will deserve it>

Re: Anyone else nervous?

I know some will scoff at this but I honestly think this past weeks performance or lack there of by our offense against the #1 defense in the league might actually give the team a chance to have lulled Seattle into a bit of a mental trap. We know that all week the offense is going to get the absolute best preperation possible to shake off last week and show it for the fluke we think it was. We also know that all week we r going to hear in the media how Seattle should run right over the skins cuz we won ugly. I think the team will have an oppurtunity if executed properly to exploit the possibility that Seattle will have it's guard down early against our offense. We have seen how explosive the offense can be through various parts of the season and I could definitely see Gibbs taking some early shots down the field possibly even through trickeration to try and open up some things throughout the rest of the game.

I know I'm always atleast a bit nervous with every game but that's part of being a fan. I am extremely confident in the teams chances especially with the phenomal play of late by our defense especially with the pressure on opposing qbs and finally forcing turnovers in bunches. I've had hopes of the skins playing this time of the year every year until mathematically eliminated and I have no reason not to believe in the teams chances of continueing its season against a team we already beat when we weren't really playing our best ball. GO SKINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :point: :httr:

Against a #1 seed we beat and since we are a 9 point under dog.....and we only had 120 yrs of total offense, there is no where to go from here but up......If Joe Gibbs is smart he will unleash a verage of offensive plays....

Its like 2am, for the last hour i've been thinking about nothing but this game and suddenly I'm terrified. Not at Seattle, but isn't it amazing how far we've come and how close we really are to getting that Ultimate prize? Alot of guys on here havent even experianced a nice playoff run like this, let alone back in the glory days to the Super Bowl. I don't want this freaking thing to end, I honestly cant think of a better 5 months of my life. Every weekend everyone I care about comes over and we watch the Skins' cause they all wanna watch it with me. Some of the freaking stuff that happened this year I'll remember till the day I die. I hope all the players feel the same way, that this is truly somthing special and they dont want it to end just yet.

FOUR MORE WEEKS !

im not nervous at all.seattle is the first #1 seed that really doesnt scare anyone.i would be shocked if the skins couldnt run the ball on seattle.that and it seems like every time seattle gets something good going the last couple of seasons, hassleback does something stupid to screw it up.and do their recievers really scare anyone?earlier when we played them ,we beat both wr up

Is it just me or does it seem like we didn't run a lot of offensive plays to begin with? I mean Mark only passed 15 times. Seattle's defense is far worse than Tampa's.

Exactly. We have as good of a chance as anyone else in the NFC. We will need offense though, but I really think the offense will be tweaked and Joe and the staff will have them ready for Saturday.

Why would Aikman talk about the redskins during a NY/Car game?

Southpaw 01-09-2006 10:30 AM

Re: Anyone else nervous?

I'm nervous. I was nervous last week too. Mainly because of Brunell. Since his knee has been hurt, he's basically returned to the Mark Brunell of last year. Portis' health is a concern too. He's been dinged up all season, but it appears that it's starting to take a toll on him now.

With that said, I've always felt that the Seakawks were a soft team. They're definitely not as good as their record. The defense will keep Washington in the game, but if the offense can't swing more than three points, it'll be a painful game to watch.

MTK 01-09-2006 10:39 AM

Re: Anyone else nervous?

I didn't think Brunell's knee was an issue against TB. He seemed to move around pretty good, TB's D really locked us down more than anything.

12thMan 01-09-2006 10:49 AM

Re: Anyone else nervous?

I think for us to come up with only 120 yds in offense and still win on the road says a lot about this team. I mean, the Giants basically had the same offensive output and got stomped by the Panthers.

I think we'll do very good against Seattle.

If you don't allow yourself to enjoy a good season from the team when it has one, I think you just end up making yourself miserable.

I want the Skins to win this Seattle game more than anything, but if they lose I will applaud them as they walk off the field. They've given me a lot of great moments to remember this year. You can't come away from every season with a championship, but you can take away memories from every season. No matter what happens this weekend, I'm going to always remember the 14-13 win over Dallas, sweeping the Eagles, the 35 point trouncing of the Cowboys and Giants, the 6 game win streak in December and January, Portis' press conference costumes, and the birth of a classic nickname, Captain Chaos.

I'm very happy with the team this year, no matter what happens in Seattle. I just hope they make me even happier with another win.

Not really!!! AT ALL!!!! getting S.Springs well help a lot for this one!!! Just saw him on cold pizza!!! The O well have to get better to keep the ball away from the Hawks!!! :towel: Yes it was a little never racking during the game but I believe in Gibbs :coach: and really when you look at the four team left all are about the same. I think not being at home and having to travel is something that we well have to over come. That and only that because both team are good!!!

Well said.

I certainly wouldn't be happy if they lose on Sat., but if they did once the dust settled on the season I would be pretty happy with the results overall. We've definitely exceeded everyone's expectations and the future looks much brighter than it ever has.

Re: Anyone else nervous?

It's good to be the DOG! We get complacent and comfortable otherwise. Face it, we got our ASS KICKED by TB Defense. However, they did not self-destruct, and "give us the game". Our Defense TOOK it from them. We did not crater. We improvised, adapted, overcame, and WON. DID WHAT WAS NECESSARY TO WIN. FOUND A WAY TO WIN! That's what will happen this week against the Gulls. -Just different strategy...............

yeah we only had the ball for a total of 49 plays whereas the last 3 games we've averaged having the ball for 62 plays a game. gibbs sat on the lead with how well the d was playing, but from what I've seen and heard about the game the execution on the pass plays wasn't too great and tampa had the running game shut down pretty tight.

I actually love Aikman as a commentator, I think he's fair on all counts and makes great points. He sees all the little things that happen in a game, like a good seal on a trap block.

I think that just because Aikman commented on the Panthers' ability to win on the road, that does not mean he doesn't think the same about the Skins. He just didn't comment on it.

I think anyone who says the Skins don't have a chance in this Seattle game is crazy. You can make a claim for either team to win, it should be a hard-fought game.
