EMERGENCY! I need video help in NYC!
 

Disaster! For the first time this year, I can't watch the game live. And, to make things worse, I don't have a VCR or DVD recorder (I only have a DVD player...).

Is there ANYONE in NYC who can record the game on DVD for me? I will travel anywhere in the city to pick up a copy, and I'll provide a reward for whoever can help.

I am seriously wondering what could prevent you from watching the game? I can't think of anything that I wouldn't move or blowoff in this situation. Priorities man!

My wife's first gallery opening in the city of New York--it's sort of a skins vs divorce thing. (Stunning that the art world hasn't shut down for the palyoffs!)

All the guys who's wife had draged them to an art show during the playoffs will want to see the game even if they are not Skin fans. This will free up the wife's to take their time and look at all the art and make a purchase. So its a win win for every body. If that does not work go out and buy a cheap VCR for around $50.00 and you will have one for next time your wife has an art show during football season.

I like your thinking, Firstdown--I may buy the VCR. And I hope you're right abou freeing up those who want to look at art: it' will be the die-hards (and god knows we could use the cash!)!

Yea give the man a break, I am in a similar position and I might not be able to watch the game because of significant other issues.

Let me telll you my story. On my first date with my wife I set her stratight. I told her right then and there that when the Redskins are playing I'm in front of a TV some where watching it no matter what family events or crisis there is!! That way she understood from the get go. She also wanted to have a September wedding in the worst way, my anniversary is August 13th. I told her that if we got married in September the first day of our honeymoon would be spent in a sports bar some where watching the Redskin game. Even my daughter moved up her birth date so Dad wouldn't be interupted from the football season. She was due the first weekend in September, her birthday is July 23rd. :biggthump

Couldnt you find someone to TIVO it for your or use DVR and then just burn it on the a dvd.......You could get SIRUS and record it

Summo--Wow! You've got the proper set up. Nice of your daughter to get off on the right foot with dad! (My wife's been great all season, but this one she put the foot down... if only we were playing Sunday...)

CantheTuna--my wife is happy I go to a bar to watch the skins: that way she doesn't have to feel "insignificant" every week!

If none of my TiVo friends step up, I'll buy the VCR--I would have spent as much going to the Falls bar anyway.

I cant believe you dont have a vcr to begin with.Who doesnt own a vcr? lol,man,you need to just go buy a vcr,I have to work sat also,so I will be taping it on a vcr and a dvd recorder just in case one messes up

The VCR broke a few weeks ago, and we're planning to get a DVD recorder instead--so I'm caught in between technology. Oh, well--given how cheap VCRs are now, it's no big.

I'm right there with ya man. I havent missed a game in 3 years, and I could *potentially* miss the very end of Saturdays game due to a broadcasting commitment, depending on the outcome of Fridays game. F'n Contracts!! I'm going to be activley rooting against my own team on air tommarow so that my Saturday is 100% free! LOL.

Its official I will not be able to watch the game this weekend, I'm in your boat JWsleep....:(...I think i'll do the VCR thing, but its gonna be really hard not to hear the radio, watch highlights, or avoid people that have seen the game.

Watch it live, it's the daggone PLAYOFFS!!!
I took off work 2 weeks in a row on a lucrative Saturday night to watch REDSKINS playoffs. TV goes to art show. And tape it. I know famalies are more important than football, but we're talking about the first Redskins playoff action since 1999 and first Gibbs playoff since 1992 season. Get it together and focus. REDSKINS MUST WIN!!! Let's get it on!!!

I'm taking my sons camping with the Boy Scouts this evening... to get back on Sunday. I told the Scout Master I have to leave on Saturday around 4... "something came up". Sorry... can't miss the Skins! Of course, my sons are now bitching at me that they can't come.

I'll be taping it for them... JW... if you don't get any love on this site, I'll be glad to send you my tape once my boys are done watching it. Let me know...

whats cheap now are dvd recorders,i've seen them for under a hundred bucks
