What is the injury status of Clinton Portis?

A healthy Portis will go a long way towards making it easier to win, on the road, for the second straight week, in the playoffs. Not an easy task.

For those of us who aren't local, can we get an injury update?

Thanks.

He's fine. His toughness was a real eye-opener the second half of the year. We need him to have one of those big time games if we are to win. I'm talking 150+. Now is the acceptable time, Clinton. Time for you to prove who the real MVP is!

Even 100yds. If he can get a couple 15 yarders or so runs early, it will open up ALOT for Cooley and Moss, and with our D.............

He's gotta be better than that fossil up in Buffalo. What a debacle that is! In fact I could name several owners who are far worse than Snyder. Somebody name one that's better. (living owners)

Best owner in that he'll do anything for the TEAM! I hated him, but recently I love him. He has done what any true fan would do.. FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT.. and if it's his with his walet.. then so be it!!!!!!!! He has given Gibbs his dream team.. he deserve some thanks!

Thanks. Coach Allen. I actually got to see him coach Long Beach State against Clemson in 1990, right before his death. They got crushed but they played hard and earned about $500,000 grand for their program. I think there were a couple of NFL players on his team but they slip my mind right now. A WR, somebody. Anyhooo....

But right up until he hired Joe Gibbs, he was in the running for the league's worst owner--meddlesome, impatient, thinking he actually knew something about the game.

We are a long ways away from a dream team. We have a great defense, an old, hobbled quarterback, and only one wide receiver. They will need to retool the offense over the offseason, adding at least one bonafide receiving threat.

GET OUT! We are well on are way, if not already there, to a dream team.. bad, bad FAN!!! We'll trade Ramsey for a WR..

What team you been watching?....This is textbook Gibbs. BRING YOUR LUNCH!!!!

You are obviously not a true Redskin fan. You quote Allen, maybe you should listen to him...God rest his soul.

What Snyder did for Wynn when he broke his arm, and how he has kept himself out of the media and let Gibbs have the show... come on. That's deserves some respect. The guy was a jerk when the skins were losing because he was grasping for straws, but he's not stupid! Gibbs is back and Snyder is doing what any fan would want him to do... He is giving the team what they NEED! Anything they need!! Including Morton's steaks! R E S P E C T!

He is a tough RB . I respect the way he plays. But please... do not run him into the ground like Allen did poor Larry Brown...put big Sellers and Betts in there more to balance the running better.

True, but we like to distinguish this site from some others by talking (agreeing and disagreeing) about the team and not about other posters.

On ESPN, Sal Paolantonio reported that Portis is still banged up, will wear extra padding on his shoulders, and hopes he doesn't take "a direct hit" on his shoulders.

Yikes.

Re: What is the injury status of Clinton Portis?

I don't think they would be giving the media that info if he were really, really bad. The NFL way is to try to conceal injuries.

However, it seems that since he started having stingers they have become a regular occurrence. Its the body telling the mind to cut it out. This is not healthy. Portis has been awesome with his toughness. Other Redskins running backs whom I won't name and who were bigger guys would be sitting I think.

Sheriff Gonna Getcha 01-14-2006 01:49 PM

Re: What is the injury status of Clinton Portis?

An unhealthy Portis and struggling passing game make me really worried. Hopefully our defense can play on both sides of the ball.

Re: What is the injury status of Clinton Portis?

Yeah. I see some outside running or some screens for Portis today. They wont touch or D in second half so a lead would be nice.
