Playoff team adoption time
Now that the Skins are out, what team will you quietly, or not so quietly be rooting for the rest of the way?
I'm officially adopting the Steelers. They're a likeable team, I like the way they play a similar style to the Skins, smashmouth, hard nosed D, etc. I'd like to see Cowher finally get a ring and see Bettis retire on top. Go Steelers! |
Re: Playoff team adoption time
I've officially lost every single drop of interest in the playoffs. Normally there is atleast one team I can bring myself to somewhat cheer for or a team like Phili recently that I root every single week for them to fail, but this year I really don't care one way or another. I'm just interested now in the SB party and watching the commercials/movie trailers.

Re: Playoff team adoption time
Go Hawks.
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
I want the Bus to finish out on a high note. Go Steelers!
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
I'm in Pittsburgh's corner. One of my closest friends is from there and is a die hard fan. I like when die hard fans who stick with their team through thick and thin get a SB win. Pittsburgh has a lot of die hards. It's not like the Steelers are never in the playoffs, but they always get so close and never quite win the big one. It's not a fickle fan-base like the Eagles. Steelers fans are loyal, they deserve it.
Go Steel. |
Re: Playoff team adoption time
steelers or panthers will do for me
but i think cowher deserved to have that ring |
Re: Playoff team adoption time
Panthers
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
There's something to be said about Seattle winning so we could say we lost to the eventual champions.
However, I gotta go with Pittsburgh also. Would be nice to see Cowher get a ring, and another for Grimm. |
Re: Playoff team adoption time
I knew someone that talked to Shula once about what team he rooted for after he'd lost. ...yeah, I know, second hand--but it was from a good source!
...Anyway, Shula said he always rooted for the team that beat him. He said if the team that beat him went all the way, it, more or less, kinda meant he'd come in second. Go Seahawks! P.S. (If we'd lost to the Cowboys in the post-season, of course, the Shula rule would have to go out the window.) |
Re: Playoff team adoption time
Panthers or Steelers. I wouldn't be upset with either choice, although it would be nice to have Carolina win their first Super Bowl.
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
is it true the hall of fame winners are announced the same week of the super bowl?i am also rooying for the steelers and would like carolina in the big one with them
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
panthers or steelers
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
I'd like to see the Steelers take it. It would be a great ending for a storybook career for Bettis, and Cowher deserves a ring for all the years he's been there.

Re: Playoff team adoption time
better to lose to the super bowl team i guess so hawks?
I always thought denver was the best team in the AFC so Denver Hawks bowl would be nice I think it will be Denver-Carolina though |

I always thought denver was the best team in the AFC so Denver Hawks bowl would be nice I think it will be Denver-Carolina though
NO!...screw teh hawks, panthers are gonna mess them up this weekend. And it will happen. This isnt just bc im bitter, but I just feel that Seattle is overrated, and we could have beaten them, but we just did not come out strong. I just feel that Carolina, is much more talented, and their defense will win the game. |
Re: Playoff team adoption time
Steelers or Pathers. I like both coaches, there are plenty of players on both teams that I like (altho I really dont like Joey Porter). But I hope that we see a great AFC Title game (I hope Seattle gets killed), and a good Super Bowl. As long as Denver dosent win it, I'll be happy.

Re: Playoff team adoption time
Steelers for me too. Squaks talked too much crap. F 'em. I'd like to see Cower get a ring. He's a cool coach and like another poster said, I'd like to see big Russ Grimm get another ring too.
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
I said it in the middle of the year, if the skins dont go to the bowl i was picking broncs and carolina. with the edge going to the broncs.
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
Panthers all the way!
p.s. The SB is the Broncos to lose. |
Re: Playoff team adoption time
Gotta remember too that Panthers LB Coach Sam Mills passed away during the offseason. It'd be nice to see them win a ring for him too.
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
Steelers. I like Cowher. I like the type of football Pittsburgh plays, its very similar to Redskin football. Hard-nosed knock the crap out of you defense and then run the ball right over top of you offense. I love it.
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
Steelers or Panthers here too. Preferably would like to see Steelers OVER Seattle in the Super Bowl.
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
I am surprised at how little I care about the remaining teams. The NFL has probably been crying for the last few days lamenting the markets that could have been (DC, Boston, Chicago, Indy) as opposed to the markets they got (Carolina, Pittsburgh, Seattle, Denver). I predict these last 3 games are the lowest rated in NFL history.

Re: Playoff team adoption time
panthers vs steelers in the superbowl.
i ,m going pittsburgh. |

+1 for me. I could see myself rooting for Carolina, but really don't care now. Just waiting to pig out and laugh at the commercials, and hope they are doing another Lingerie Bowl. |
Re: Playoff team adoption time
Hakuna Matata!
It doesn't matter. |
Re: Playoff team adoption time
Bud Light vs. Budweiser.
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
Steelers baby! I got mad respect for the Bus, and Cowher so I'd like to see them win one.
I wouldn't mind seeing Carolina win it either. |
Re: Playoff team adoption time
Its amazing the sentiment we share. I like Fox because he's a gibbs fan. I also like the fact that their team is similar to ours, and Delhomme is a good old country boy.
The steelers are a great team and are a lot of fun to watch. They've always been my fav. AFC team. I'm going for the panthers and the steelers in the big game, but I'll just be enjoying the SB. I'll be pulling for both to make the superbowl, or win against another team that makes it. If its a Seahawks/ Broncos SB then you gotta root for the seahawks. Just because I'd rather get taken out by the champs and whatnot. Plus I can't stand the Broncos. Plummer is an ass... I hate Bailey...I cant stand shanahan... F their whole team!! |
Re: Playoff team adoption time
I can really say any of the remaining teams stir up any emotion in me, but the Broncos are my pick to win it all. A year ago, I never thought I'd be saying that a team could win with Jake Plummer at QB...what a joke this guy was!
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
I'll go w/ Carolina. It's Redskin country down there and i like the way they play. Delhomme is a guy that until you sit down and watch him play you don't think he's that good. You can tell he has a will to win and just has fun doing it.
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
i want to stick with the NFC, but i feel like its going to be the steelers. plus nice gift for the bus as he steps down after this year.
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
:censored: seahawks and :censored: steelers
i agree with this guy :yeahright seahawks (gotta love hasselback ''we want the ball and we're GONNA SCORE'') and the steelers(the bus is lucky that fumble wasn't his career high-light)..........i like the panthers but they are gonna lose.:spank:and i'm rooting for the steelers:insane:
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
Lets go Broncos.
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
Broncos and Panthers.........No other way around it. Best 2 teams. Steelers are week vs run and Panthers are the Redskins with a Seattle win.(ROLLING along)
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time
Broncos, led by the bass player for Phish at qb.
|
Re: Playoff team adoption time

|
