Official 2006 Winter Olympics Thread

There may be little to no interest in the Winter Olympics (for all I know I'm the only fan). Or maybe there are a lot of you wanting to discuss Torino 2006

Either way, for the next couple of weeks let's put all Olympic discussion in this thread.

The only thing I'm really looking forward to is that Board Cross. Sounds pretty interesting. Warpath reminded me of hockey so I'm all about those as well. I'm normally a Summer games guy myself.

C'mon now, Hockey of course, and then theres one of the greatest sports of all time. It takes the most training and hard work than any other sport in Olympic history. Strategy and Stamina as well. Find out more about this sport!
p.s. I just bought a shirt as well to show my USA pride.
But yea Im following the 20th winter games

Winter Olympics will be my life for the next 2 weeks.
Not because I'm all that interested, I've been assigned to work the stats data for ESPN-SportsTicker.

Sweet!!! Who can't get jacked for curling! Sweep sweep sweep!!!! :yeahright But as far as everything else goes I enjoy the Winter Olympics far better than the Summer games. Favorite event is the skeleton.

I love the games, my only problem with em, is I get set to watch a cool event, then figure skating comes on, and I lack the patience to suffer through it.

USA is disappointing so far in the medal count. On the plus side, our hockey team is wiping their collective asses with the world so far.

The US curling men are beating New Zealand 7-2 during the 7th End. Still don't quite understand it...I see it like a cross between bocce, horseshoes and chess.

I watched the women in the wee hours this morning (couldn't sleep) and they got housed by those pesky Canadians.
the best thing is the female skating and it starts tonight
Man I hope your kidding, I like just about all the winter games but the skating i just can't watch. i think the sports that they have brought over from the X games has added alot to the winter games. It is amasing how fast some of these people are moving in some of the sports up to 80 mph on a sleed that has to be a rush.
