La'Roi Glover??

If the Cowboys cut him and we could sign him cheap what do you guys think?? He had a bad year this year but they also switched to a 3-4 which doesn't fit him well. He is 31 but he would be nice to fit next to Griffin and could rotate with Salavia.

Re: La'Roi Glover??

This may sound silly, but I would have to think someone would have to be exceptional for Gibbs to sign an ex-Cowboy. I think deep down inside Blue and Silver makes his blood boil.

Re: La'Roi Glover??

Hell No. No more Cowboys rejects. Can anyone say Brandon Ignoble?

Re: La'Roi Glover??

So of Roy Williams was free and wanted to play along side of Sean Taylor you would say no just because he played for Cowboys? Thats crazy. The reason we dont sign him is because he is 31, coming of a pretty average, if not below average year. He isn't going to sign for Veteran minimum, which would be all we could afford given other areas of need. Also, we have Griff, Big Joe, and probably Evan or Daniels to rotate. I think our D line is good enough w/ out him.

There you have it, Brandon is an exceptional guy - in terms of character. He could very well end up working with the Skins once he determines what he'll do this offseason.

Re: La'Roi Glover??

The cowboys won't drop the top player on their line. I'd take a look at their Dend greg ellis who want to leave the Cowboys

Re: La'Roi Glover??

Glover is the only Cowboy that I would welcome to the team. Maybe Larry Allen to take Dock's place. Either way, those guys are as physically imposing as anyone in the league. I was not happy with the pickup of Noble, however.

as a rotational player, i think he would be terrific... but not at starters money

true. we have had very poor luck with ex cowboy players..

although i would take a chance on glover, ellis, campbell

Re: La'Roi Glover??

Would definitely prefer Ellis over Glover since he's younger and provides a rush off the edge. Ellis would fit in nicely at either RE or LE depending on where we used Daniels and Evans. I still like Clemons as a backup. Wynn is a solid run stopper and locker room presence, but I think he's gone after this year.

hard to say bad about someone like noble... that was just bad luck more than anything

Re: La'Roi Glover??

Noble might have not been that great/perma-injured, but at least the guy said it was his dream to play in Washington, so let's not bash him too much. Apparently he was pissed that he had to play in dallass (i'm sure he liked the money though) because he is a lifelong Skins fan. I wish the guy the best but I also hope he retires to clear up a roster spot/cap room.

ellis hustles like crazy..

do you rmember the play from a couple years back where he chased down betts from behind and caused a fumble before the goal line? very impressive play. lots of speed and heart.
he is a far better fit for a 4/3 thanthe 3/4 that parcells uses. everybody is dancing around that fact

with that infection and the profound weight loss i do not see anyway he could come back this year. if not, it would seem better for him to retire

ellis would be a nice fit on our d-line. not sure about glover.

Let's not forget that our defense was #3 when Noble was here and a few slots lower when he wasn't.

Wow how times have changed now I hear you would join some Cowboys in your team i tought they all sucked hahaha look either Ellis, campbell or Glover would be a great fit for any team those are players with great skills and hearth I really would like anyone 2 go but I'm sure that Glover will be a casualty of the change of defensive schemes and would be shown the door.

he has a huge roster bonus and will count more than 7 mill on the cap to much for a rotation player campbell is a free agent and we want him back it all depends on the $$ and Ellis doesn't have a cap problem he jsut wants to play more.

parcell is allready talking about giving him more snaps but I think he might be use as a trade compliment to move up the draft or more draft picks.

Way too much for us. Maybe a restructure and trade for Ramsey! Haw Haw.

i disagree about l allen.in my opinion one of the most over rated lineman in the nfl.in his day, sure fire hall of famer, but that day has long passed.and no to glover to much money, not enough substance

They do all suck D. However, Master Gibbs may be able to resurrect the dead (look what he is doing for the skins). If your boy glover is tired of Parcells being mean to him, we'll send the Redskin 1 to get him

Glover is a monster inside, I'd love to see us pick up a veteran DT like him.

Re: La'Roi Glover??

yeah he is and I also believe Allen has passed his prime as 1 said he is still good better this year then the last 2 but not amazing as he used to be and glvoer is a force and a great lockeroom leader I really believe he's going to be the odd man out

And every team has players that we all would like to add to ours in a hearth beat in your case I would really like Samuels or LA is they get dump or don't want to restructure their contracts.

Samuels just signed a new contract last year, he's not in need of restructuring already.

i know you need a tackle, but samuels is over rated, randy thomas is better cause he doesn't do boneheaded things every 4-5 plays.

Samuels' base salary is just $1M for 2006

Re: La'Roi Glover??

Hello folks!!

Yes Glover is a beast inside, one of the very few DT's that can get pressure on the QB not just plug the gap.

He did his best as a NT in the 3/4 scheme that Parcells prefers, and while he did well, he got worn down near the last quarter of the year.

His problem in the 3/4 is that he would get led inside and turned and the RB would gash us up the middle. Not all year just at the end.

For a Guy to play NT after years at DT and the job he did was incredible.

Dallas cannot afford him in all likelihood. They have Ferguson locked up -a traditional 3/4 NT who plugs but doesn't get any QB pressure - and a couple of interesting Rookies at NT T Johnson is one.

I don't see Ellis going anywhere. He is under contract and is an ideal third down pass rusher when we switch to a 4/2/4.

DE in a 3/4 isn't his thing, and he has lost a few steps since that pursuit fumble someone mentioned. He is undersized as a 3/4/ end and he is slowing down as a 4man DE. No one is going to trade anything for him, and he isn't going to whine his way out of Big D.

Expensive + Old + Injury Risk + Would possibly be a backup behind Big Joe > Talent (which he still has a considerable amount of IMO)

I rest my case

Expensive not really at his age , he isn't a Injury Risk has played all the games in the 4 or 5 season his been with us, but won't sign to be a backup and he still can play at the top leve lthe only thing is we allready went young last year so he's the odd man out

There's no real backups according to GW. "Everyone is a starter." He just has different packages.

Good point. Its just when I said expensive I meant it from the standpoint of how much the Redskins could to spend. When you look at the cost as a percentage of what the Skins will have available to spend then it can be called expenisve. Just like buying a Lexsus is expensive to a school teacher but not a CEO.
