Official NFL Free Agent Signings Thread

Let's make this the official thread of player movement around the NFL (outside the Redskins) for this upcoming free agent season

Just as RF has a thread going with all the player cuts, we'll use this one for all player signings. Let's start it off with

i don't see how that's possible, seeing as free agency hasn't started yet.

He was released, just like when we signed P.Daniels before free agency started because he was released.

Good move by the Rams... I'm sure we all remember that run defense from last year.

Re: Official NFL Free Agent Signings Thread

Not only run defense, but he provides a decent pass rush from the DT position. He's second either all time or active (don't remember which and too lazy to look) as far as sacks by a DT. He averaged about 5 or 5.5 a year with the Cowboys. I was really hoping he would fall through the cracks and we could pick him up.

That Guy 03-07-2006 11:22 AM

Re: Official NFL Free Agent Signings Thread

he's 2nd all time to warren sapp as far as DT sacks go.

Thanks, I knew it was either all time or active, I just really didn't feel like looking it up. He brings a very good pass rush from the middle of the line. This could free up Leonard Little, also. I think this is a great pickup for the Rams.

supposedly as many as 10 teams were interested in lavar.. i do not see how he can sort through that many offers in 1 day.. unless he has his mind made up over where he wants to go.

even with a new cba we could only afford 1 of those players and i highly doubt TO or JA would pass the gibbs character test.

Bruce would be the most likely, followed by kampman or mathis (higher price is what makes it less likely).

id like to see bruce come hre. he could be the posession receiver we need!!!1

The Eagles showed why they are one of the best teams in the league year in and year out. Do they get caught up in the ultra hype surrounding Lavar? No, they sign Barber. A guy who was a proven commodity in their system and someone who will step in and make plays for them. I guarantee that they didn't break the bank either.

I hate the Eagles.

dont underestimate the eagles next year. all their stars were hurt last year and the whole TO thing didnt help. They will be back. I seriously think we have the toughest division in the league.

Unquestionably. Which one is better? None. All four teams in the NFC East should, in theory, have a good chance to get the title. I wouldn't underestimate Philly, NYG, or even Dallas ... particularly Philly.

Does anyone remember how many injuries they had last year? Thier top two tailbacks got put on IR, their #1 wideout was suspended, their #2 wideout was on IR, their #1 quarterback was injured, their top two corners were on injured or on IR, their o-line was mangled.

And they're about to reload with a bunch of free agents. They already signed Shawn Barber and LeCharles Bentley is pretty much in their hip pocket already.

Re: Official NFL Free Agent Signings Thread

I think McNabb ego was seriously smashed this year and his comments in the off season were pretty pathetic. I would be very concerned about this team their offense was very weak last year and Westbrook isn't an every down back. He was small at Dematha, Villanova and in the NFL.

Lis Franc injury can be very damaging I know it was a Lis Franc sprain and not dislocation but it shows inherent weakness at the joint. This is not a good injury for a small darting running back palying at the VEt 8 games a year. I feel like the Giants and Boys have better nuclei at this point.

There's reason to think the Giants and Cowboys are in a better position to get to the big game than the Eagles are. I think that's pretty reasonable.

All I am saying about the Eagles is, don't look at 2005 and think 2006 will look the same for them. They've got a great coaching staff, a good bunch of players, and they've got the money and picks to improve. They're a dangerous team.

I read that too. Fortunately, the only time I'd be sacred of Garcia would be if we were cell mates in some prison.

I heard Corey Chavous is heading to the rams... that makes me sad :/ (he's a centerfield type safety i would have liked). No idea on the money.

packers resign kampman (also making me sad... the nfl is out to get me).

DT MK (the ravens DT) signed with someone too, but i forget who (browns maybe?).
