The Warpath's First Meeting: Draft Day 2004
 

Okay, I tried to organize a get together last year, but now I'm serious. I say we organize a get together at some place like ESPN Zone on draft day. Yes, that's more than a month away, but I want to let everyone know about it well in advance. Any other ideas?

why not get a group together and go to Madison Square Garden for the actual draft?

How about we pick day when the training camp schedule is announced and meetup at our mecca (Redskins Park)?

Yeah, I'm with CPayne, and I plan on traveling down to training camp proboly the first weekend or so , and hope a few of you are there the days I go. Ramseyfan's got a good idea, I think it would be fun for guys who could do it.

I live about an hour away from Ashburn and could come up anytime. So, the date will probably be determined by those who need to travel a ways to get there. I'm sure everyone would love to meet Mattyk (enough to have us pay for some of his expenses in appreciation of the site, if he decides to make the journey). If we organize it right, we may get recognized by the Skins. Maybe Joe Crisp can help us out with this?

I'm with CPayne on this. We live in the same area and I'm up for draft day or training camp. Even both!

Curious, is ESPNZone 21+ or 18+? I'll be 21 by then, but just curious for other people.

I was planning on going to Ravens draft day, they have football games to play on the field while you can watch the draft on the jumbo-tron. Or so I hear. What is known about the draft day celebration at Redskins park?

ESPN zone is open for anyone.

Regarding the Redskins recognizing us, what did you have in mind?

I assume you're referring to a Warpath day at training camp.

I do like the idea of doing something for Mattyk. He really puts a lot of work into this site, and it would be nice to show him our appreciation.

I'm planning on being at camp this summer for a good 3-4 days, as soon as the camp schedule comes out I'm going to make plans to come down. We can definitely plan some sort of meetup then!

I went a few days last year to camp and got to meet Smoot, Arrington, Ramsey, and Coles. I will definitely be back this year..

Anywhere anytime. I'll make time to do it. It doesn't matter to me, but it does sound like a fun idea. Put me down.

ESPN Zone is fine with me. I live in Connecticut, so NY is perfect, travel wise.

Yeah, the trip to NY could be a fun roadtrip! Do you need tickets to get into the draft?

In normal football weekends at the Zone, you have to be there early & get in line to reserve seating. They give 4 seat tickets per person in line. So if we are going to have a party of 20 or more...? We are gonna need at least 5 - 6 people in line, at the Zone.

I'll call them today & ask what they are planning to do that day....

Spoke to the Zone NY & they stated at this time there are no formal plans for April 24th/25th.
The manager thinks that it will be just a normal business day where people can show up early, wait in line, & get their seating tickets...

I will call them again late March to reconfirm that.


So we should probably start getting a approx. number of people that will be attending...
I will only be able to go the 24th (Sat.)
