Assuming that is correct that seems like a good move for Cleveland . . . though I don't see Givens as a true #1 so I guess they had better hope Braylon Edwards comes around. I'd be curious to see the #'s on the deal . . . Cleveland has a ton of money to spend, though. Guess that leaves Llyod and Randle El as the best options . . . too bad we will have to wait a week to see how the Lloyd deal works out (assuming that is the direction they go). Wonder what it will cost in draft picks? Hope it doesn't involve next years #1 . . .

What an absolutely meaningless move for Cleve-town! I don't even know why those guys keep trying. They've got less than no chance of winning the division and even a wildcard is basically impossible for them.

The first weird free-agency report of the night came from Cleveland, when the team's Web site reportedly signed Patriots wide receiver David Givens and Ravens punter Dave Zastudil. The only problem was it wasn't true. Givens' agent, Brad Blank, has his client on a 7 a.m. flight to Miami to visit the Dolphins, and he almost didn't send Givens to Cleveland because of the erroneous report. Blank theorized that someone hacked into the Browns' computer, but he emphasized that no deal is done. Givens is scheduled to visit the Browns on Sunday if he doesn't sign with the Dolphins on Saturday.

Does anybody realize how unlikely and how difficult it is to hack into an NFL team website? On top of that, who is going to hack into an NFL team website and post erroneous reports about two relatevely obscure FA signings (look, if I could crack the Cowboys site, their front page would show Jerry Jones and Tuna having a three way with a donkey)?

Something stinks here. ESPN is showing their bias again.
