Political Affilation of Gibbs and Joey T
Got the link to this site from a Cowboys forum. Shows political donations of major sports figures. Both Gibbs and Joey T are on it. I am not gonna say who is a Dem or a Rep find that out by checking the site, and please do not remove this thread, its kind of interesting.

You can see some specific recipients here
Kind of weird that you can find this stuff |
Re: Political Affilation of Gibbs and Joey T
meh, many of those you just have to look at the person and you would know but I am surprised with Jerry jones going 53/47. Giving to both.
We got al michaels, Brunell, and gibbs as giving to the republicans. No surprises there. Gibbs is a religious nascar owner. We won't hold it against them though. |
Re: Political Affilation of Gibbs and Joey T
why would you be surprised, its required by law to make donations public.
and there's nothing wrong with gibbs giving to george allen, after all, his dad did get us to a superbowl. |

I guess you're referring to me. I'm not surprised, just saying it's weird. You know secret ballot and all that. I guess if you know the donation, you know who they're voting for. Not that it matters either way. so....'sup with Ramsey? |

http://www.newsmeat.com/sports_political_donations/
Notice that most of the white race car drivers are GOP where the black basketball players (Malone doesn't count- as Barkley refers to him as "black redneck) are Democrats? Interesting... |
Re: Political Affilation of Gibbs and Joey T
unreal!!! Don King puts out $229k, w/ most going to GOP. oh well, i guess thats the one and only thing that doesnt piss me off about him.

Re: Political Affilation of Gibbs and Joey T
I guess this would be the ONE area where Matty would openly disagree with Joe Gibbs -- right Matty?
j/k |
Re: Political Affilation of Gibbs and Joey T
It just goes to show that it is no coincidence things go really well when the GOP is in the White House. 3 superbowls under reagan
george allen era: Nixon/ Ford. That made my day to find out for sure Gibbs is Red not Blue. |
Re: Political Affilation of Gibbs and Joey T
I never really lived in a predominately republican place. i used to live in Ohio and even then there was a good mix up north. I live in Maryland now, right outside DC. It is very liberal and I won't live in any republican place. Maybe if I go to texas....

Re: Political Affilation of Gibbs and Joey T
Come to Virginia.
I can live around Dems...they're harmless. lol |
Re: Political Affilation of Gibbs and Joey T
I didn't know Virginia had many Democrats.

it doesn't, except down in the tidewater region (SE corner) |

And in the Northern Virginia region, I am a proud Democrat in N.VA. Northern VA is totally different than what most people think VA is like. I really hate it when I tell people I am from VA and they think I live on a farm. There was actually some talk about N.Va succeeded lol, because of its differences and because were not getting enough of our tax dollars back. The point is VA differs alot, especially out by tidewater(higher minority population, do not worry I am a minority too so I am allowed to say that lol) and N.Va(very close to DC, therefore more suburban/urban and populized) |

I think it had something to do with the GOP, but yeah this GOP stuff is all luck. |

the breaking of the streak just shows how bad the officiating in that game was (calling back a TD and such) ;) |

All those million dollar homes are purchased by loto winners. Sorry, I got to go and milk my cow amd my time at the library computer is up too. You people in N Va are just so much smarter buying 1500sq ft homes for $800,000 and driving 2 hours to get to your office 10 miles away. Any body got a nickle so I can reboot this here computer.

Not to change the theme of this thread, but firstdown do you guys think you could one day get a pro team down there? I'm just asking because I really know nothing about that area but I know they've put up serious bids in the past for baseball and basketball teams. And I just wonder if it's realistically a viable option. Usually, it's not the first place that comes to mind when talking about expansion but apparently they've put some good proposals together. |
Re: Political Affilation of Gibbs and Joey T
the norfolk area has a lot of concentrated jobs and infrastructure built around it, so they could probably support a team...

Norfolk has tried but that would be the worst place to try and put a team. Traffic would be a nightmare because nofolk has limited access (highways) because it is surounded by water. Norfolk does offer the best place for a team as of dinning and those things but the traffic problem. We do have other areas that would work but at this time those cities do not have the funds or interest. If I was asked to vote for supporting a pro team it would be "No".

I wish Fairfax, Arlington, Alexadria, Prince William, Loudoun, etc would secede from the state. What's wrong w/ living on a farm? |
