Coach Gibbs in Newport News VA, 3/30
Hey guys,
I just found out that Joe Gibbs is speaking in Newport News, Virginia. I just wanted to get the word out for those of you who live in the area (as I do). The event is called The Gathering of Men's Annual Breakfast. I just called and found out that tix are $10 each!! Sounds too good to be true. If any of you know something that I don't about the event please let me know. Supposedly, you get free breakfast too. It's on March 30th, 6a-8a. |

Re: Coach Gibbs in Newport News VA, 3/30
it's free as soon as you pay the 10 bucks.

Re: Coach Gibbs in Newport News VA, 3/30
I kinda figured the 10 bucks was to see Coach Gibbs speak.

Re: Coach Gibbs in Newport News VA, 3/30
Its a Christian event and I attended one I believe was in '04 in Richmond with my Pastors and some other men from my church. The one in Richmond was the Governors Prayer breakfast and had lots of high ranking attorneys, politicans, supreme court justices and so on. Needless to say we were the least important people there. But it was a great expierence to hear Gibbs speak w/out having to hold back about his Faith and relationship w/ Christ.Wasnt really much oppurtunity to speak to him or get autographs.I did manage to get his though only cause my Pastor was able to stop and thank him. Anyway its a serious affair unrelated to football just to let you. By the way where exactly in N.N. is it?
I kinda figured the 10 bucks was to see Coach Gibbs speak.
I know, but I just could not pass that one up. I would believe that the 10 bucks pays for the event and that the speakers do it for free because its something they want to do.

Re: Coach Gibbs in Newport News VA, 3/30
I just saw Gibbs speak today at Mclean Bible Church, it was incredible, and like stated above it was really nice to hear somebody that I look up to speak so passionatly about his relationship with Christ...I reccommend this breakfast for anybody that gets the opportunity...and Gibbs gave everybody there today a free copy of his "Racing to Success" autobiography.

If Christ helps the Skins win, I'm all for it. Of course I doubt Christ cares about football as much as we the fans do.
May Jesus, Allah, Buddha, and all other deities bless the Redskins. Amen. |

Just a quick note. I'll be going to listen to Joe talk tomorrow morning at the breakfast. I'll be sure to say hi to him on behalf of the warpath!
I'll also get his autograph, but I'm keeping that for myself!:food-smil |

Re: Coach Gibbs in Newport News VA, 3/30
I went, it was great. There were over a thousand people packed into this church. Joe Gibbs was such a good speaker. He reminds me of my grandad. He had a really good message about life and faith. He really is a down to earth person. It made me be proud to be a Redskin fan. Then, I watched as Gibbs signed hundreds of autographs. He really does walk the walk.

They did, but he stuck around and signed autographs and was as nice as you could imagine. He signed a football and his book for me and when I tried to get out of the way for other people, he stopped me and made sure he shook my hand before I left. Great speaker also! |
Re: Coach Gibbs in Newport News VA, 3/30
Gibbs is a Class Act.
He's taller than he looks on TV too I thought when I first met him. Glad you had a great time. mike |
