Stupid ESPN
Question 10 from the ESPN SportsNation poll on free agency additions:
10) After adding Archuleta, Randle El, Andre Carter, Brandon Lloyd and Christian Fauria, will the Washington Redskins improve on last season's performance and win a playoff game? HEY ESPN, WE DONT NEED TO 'IMPROVE' OUR PERFORMANCE TO WIN A PLAYOFF GAME...WE WON ONE LAST YEAR. Who's writing these things, Fat Len and Peter King? |
Re: Stupid ESPN
Dumb sh*ts.
|
Re: Stupid ESPN
That is pretty pathetic.
|
Re: Stupid ESPN
Anything to hate on Dan Snyder...
|
Re: Stupid ESPN
I dont get all the hating. Its a question, YES or NO. Its not saying we need to improve our performance, its saying will the additions help us improve from last year.
MY ANSWER IS..... OF COURSE |
Re: Stupid ESPN
ooops, sorry. I see what you are getting at. win a playoff game.
OK<< DUMB SHITS is accurate |
Re: Stupid ESPN
Nothing new. I hold these "analysts" in the same regard as daytime talk show hosts.
|
Re: Stupid ESPN
It seriously is like the whole rest of the NFL is in denial of the fact that we not only made the playoffs last year, we actually made it to the second round of the playoffs. I bet if you take the average NFL fan and ask them what were the 12 teams that made the playoffs last year, the Skins would either be the last one they remember or the one they completely forgot made it. Oh well, not that it matters.......I actually think it's kinda funny.
|
Re: Stupid ESPN
i just want to write someone to get an answer, anyone know the author?
|
Re: Stupid ESPN
How do we email this particular section of ESPN, not only because I am upset but because it is wrong. It pisses me off because I am a Skins fan, but if it were something dumb like that for any other team I would want to email them anyways to fix it.
Funny side note: about 44 percent of people, as of now, think we won't win a playoff game, wow, looks like we are going to have to prove everyone wrong all over again... |
Re: Stupid ESPN
that's why i get my information from mtv's room raiders.

Re: Stupid ESPN
This shit happens every week with them. They have done written something just purely incorrect about 5 times about the skins in the past 4 months. How stupid can they be? Everyone here can name all the playoff teams and if they were writing an anything about any of those teams that would be seen by everyone in the country you would make sure it was correct. Dumb shits.

Re: Stupid ESPN
I am very relieved that this is happening. I'd much rather be overlooked in this way. Don't think this doesn't have some level of affect on the players. I'm kind of a broken record about this, but I get worried when the morons at ESPN start liking us!
It's a classic case of denial--if these guys actually recognize that we're good, they'll have to see how wrong they've been. That may make them aware that, despite their inflated self-images, they really don't know anything special about football. And then where will they be? Fat, lazy, and out of a job! |
Re: Stupid ESPN
What gets me is that according to the poll - our signing of R-El was THE WORST offensive offseason free agent signing and Archuletta was THE WORST defensive signing.
Granted Archuletta didn't seem to be high on everyone's list but, sorry, the J. Peterson signing seemed far more extreme to me. As for R-El - weren't at least 4 teams looking to sign him? Yeah yeah. We paid them a premium - so that means it was bad. bleah - what idiots. I can't wait for the season to start. BTW- I would agree that, of all our signings, I think the Arch signing is the biggest for "boom or bust" potential but even if it busts - and as I understand the contract, we cut him next year as post 7/1 cut and he only counts 1M against the cap next year and 3M in 2008. If he works out, our secondary will be monstrous AND, GW will have so many f***ing different ways to come at you, opposing offenses won't know their head from their ass by the end of the game. All they will know is that they are leaving the field in immense pain. If Arch's back holds up - This defense is gonna hurt people next year. |

Re: Stupid ESPN
These sports writers are terrible. I had just finished watching how Mort's un-named sources are bad mouthing Vince Young and his recent work out.
Is Mort so stupid to not see that his source is most likely someone with a pick lower than the top 3. So this secret source may be trying to lower Young's value so he could get a shot at drating him. I have never heard so many un-named sources bashing one player. You don't hear any other players getting knocked in the press as much as Young. Which leads me to believe it is all propaganda. The press is terrible. Now ESPN gets our winning a playoff game wrong. |

Re: Stupid ESPN
Where is the part about TO being a worst free agent signing? Does ESPN love the Cowboys, Patriots and Giants or is it just me?

LOL. I know you, know I meant that they love them. Thanks for making me have to clarify. |
Re: Stupid ESPN
Everybody understands that ESPN will defend their mistake by simply saying that the Redskins didn't WIN a playoff game last year, but that the Bucs LOST it...
Sad. |

I COMPLETELY agree! I dont know about you guys, but I live in FL and I love it when all my friends talk crap about the Skins. Then on game day we hand it to Tampon Bay and the rest of em. I would much rather let the play defend the team being underrated, than have to argue about why we are the favorites. |

theyve always benn stupid

Re: Stupid ESPN
Ladies ( if there are any on here ) and gentelmen. These are the days that we will cherish for years to come. When everyone says that the Redskins are this, and the Redskins are that. "They" said that Cornelius Griffin was a bad pick up. That the Giants let him go because he was a bust who underperformed and that it would come back and hurt the Skins. "They" said that Washington would see that they should've taken Kellen Winslow over Sean Taylor. "They" said that Lavar being hurt in '04, and benched in '05 would hurt the Redskins. "They" said that Clinton Portis could not flourish in Washington. "They" said that Santana Moss was another example of Washington gettin the wrong guy for the wrong amount of money. "They" said Washington would finish last in the East in '05. "They" said Washington would not beat Tampa in the playoffs, that the Bucs would shred the Redskins. "They" were wrong,... F' them. I F'n love this 'ish. "They" come out and talk about how Washington made mistakes ? Let them talk, because that's all it is. A bunch of talk. When the Skins win this year, relish in the fact that they HAVE to report on the fact that they are winning. Relish in the lump that they feel in their throats when the clock strikes 00:00 after another win. When you go to 'The Big Fed' relish in the fact that it is so loud in there that the other team cannot function. Relish in the fact that we are fans of the most profitable, mast valued, and best marketed teams in the NFL. Relish in the fact that when "Thunder Dan" wins his Super Bowl that "they" will all have to kiss his @$$ and that "they" were wrong yet again. I'm sorry if this post is long, I've had a terrible day at work and I'm looking forward to all of the beer, vodka, and 'herbal' that I will have tonight.
HAIL Mutha****as, F****n' HAIL !!!!!! |
Re: Stupid ESPN
with all of our free agents, i wonder if we will win 10 games for the first time since ??

Re: Stupid ESPN
shoddy journalism is one of my biggest pet peeves...
|
Re: Stupid ESPN
There are two types of reporters out there. Guys that report objectively, and guys that hate the Redskins. ESPN has three that hate the skins (Z, Banks, King). I think that disliking the skins is a prerequisite to work there.

Those guys are all with Sports Illustrated, not ESPN |
Re: Stupid ESPN

Re: Stupid ESPN
espn has clayton, jaws, and kiper... they have some idiots too, but i like those 3 the most in relation to football info and analysis.
|
Re: Stupid ESPN
thatguy, all 3 from espn that you mention are all solid, objective football guys.i really enjoy it when jaws breaks down game tape
|
Re: Stupid ESPN
Yea, I read that as well and I was dumbfounded. Espn is so lazy. They really need to find someone else to bash.
