He is at his best when he can get up in a receiver's face and jam him and play press man-to-man coverage. He does an excellent job of shuffling and getting hands on receivers and re-routing them. He started all 16 games for the Jags last year, and it sounds like he's had plenty of experience as a starting CB. You have to like that as your nickel CB. Sounds like if Rogers or Springs gets hurt, we'll have a pretty reliable guy to come in and help stop the bleeding. This is a very important signing even though it comes without the fanfare, CB was a big need for us. Sounds like a big upgrade over Walt Harris.

I couldnt agree more. The fact that he started 16 games for a 12-4 playoff team means a lot to me. He sounds like an ideal nickel guy who clearly has the starting experience to step into the breach should Springs or Rogers go down. This sounds like an excellent signing, and I feel pretty good about The Ade at #4.

On a random note Im pretty excited about Demetric Evans coming back...I think the future of our DL could be him and Carter on the outside. Any word on length of contract or terms?

Now that Fletcher isn't signing, anybody think there still might be another cornerback they'll go after?

Considering he helped with the coverage of the Indy receivers twice last year as well as Arizona's studly duo and he only had trouble with Andre Johnson, I'd say he's a solid pickup for our nickel slot.

That last comment about Wright's special teams ability makes me wonder if we're gonna part ways with James Thrash. All of our offseason moves suggest it. We found a capable PR/KR in Antwan Randle El. We found two capable guys (Brandon Lloyd and Randle El) for the #3 and #4 WR spots; either one could end up as the #2. I'm wondering if Wright is a capable gunner on punt squads. Although a part of me would hate to see a locker room leader and hard worker like Thrash leave, his contract and limited effectiveness coupled with the recent signings suggest his departure. Any thoughts on this?
