2006 Predictions

I see 13-3. I think we split Dallas, Giants, and a loss to the Colts. Colts is just a wildcard loss.

Re: 2006 Predictions

Split Dallas? We didn't last year and we've improved, while they've put a ticking time bomb in their locker room.

I can buy 13-3 but I don't think we'll split Dallas. Giants, yes.

It'll be interesting to see how the Colts do without the Edge.

Re: 2006 Predictions

I honestly and truly could see the Skins going undefeated. All the pieces are in place and if Brunell plays his game all year, I could definitely see it.

I know that's a bold prediction, but I could easily see it. Of course "Any Given Sunday" applies here, but the Skins most definitely have the talent to do it.

Re: 2006 Predictions

The only thing the Colts had over us was an elite QB. We have a GREAT QB. I told you, it's a bold prediction and I said I could SEE the Skins going undefeated.

If I'm going with my brain over my heart, I'm seriously going to say 14-2.

Trust me, I would like to think that we sweep Dallas again, I just don't see them putting up with getting beat at home... twice in a row.

Two arguements:
- Pro: Week two game, both teams healthy, but our team "should be" working better together.
- Con: They aren't going to take another beat-down at home from us, if anything, this will be the one game they play the hardest.

I thiink we lose 3 games---- we split with the giants, we lose to the bucs(but thats not gonna be an easy team for anyone to beat this year especially if they get woodson----top 3 defense in the league) and I could see us losin one to the Panthers(cause we are gonna be worn out after that stretch of games against the colts ,the boys, the eags, the bucs then the panthers all in a row, wow.

Well, during that streak they certainly did it to us. Why can't the Skins return the favor?

Actually, I hear what you're saying. You've got to know that they've circled that September 17th date and are treating it like a Super Bowl. But if we can somehow muster the same emotion and furious efficiency that allowed us to dominate and whip them in the second game at Fed Ex Field last year, no team can beat us. But if the Cowboys have that same type of emotion built up, and the Skins are in a half-ass kind of mood, then watch out.

Re: 2006 Predictions

I think we will win 2 games more than last season, when we had a ridiculously difficult schedule. This schedule is no cake walk either, but it is easier and I believe we have improved as a team.

The games that scare me:

vs. Colts in Indy
Panthers at home
at Tampa
at Dallas

Other than that, I think we should have a clear edge going into most of these games.

Sociofan 04-06-2006 04:39 PM

Re: 2006 Predictions

12-4. If we're lucky and stay healthy, 13-3.

We win the East.
We get a 1st round bye.

After that, we'll just have to see.

Which Woodson are you talking about the Bucs getting? Charles Woodson? Either way, you're right, the Bucs will probably be even tougher this season, as last year it seemed they overachieved a bit.

all the afc teams scare me because for some reason in the past couple years we haven't been able to beat an afc team even when we should i.e. the raiders. I think the last afc team we beat was the patriots in spurrier's first year.

They will likely look at this as a do or die game in week 2. They will (likely) be 0-1 to our 1-0.

12-4. The losses are to Dallas in week 2, Phili in week 10, Tampa in Week 11, and the Giants in Week 17, assuming a meaningless game.

4-0. Toughest AFC game is gonna be the home game vs. Jacksonville. It's a huge statement game. Colts shouldn't be much of a problem, and neither will the Titans. Texans are an interesting matchup, but still, are a win
... Giants in Week 17, assuming a meaningless game.
Good call... however, it could be the difference between home field and a bye. If those variables are in there, we fight hard.

Naw... last regular season game, at home. We take the win. They are coming off of Cowboys, Panthers, Eagles then Saints (nothing). They will be tired... we couldn't give them the game.

GTripp0012 04-06-2006 05:24 PM

Re: 2006 Predictions

Hopefully, the Panthers already have 4 losses. Assuming we beat them, as I did, we may have nothing to play for.

Last year one of our huge advantages is we held ALL possible non-head to head tiebreakers. By the way I have projected it, we hold nearly none, outside of head to heads. But I doubt too many teams in the NFC will be better than 11-5.

11-5 or 10-6...I am thinking 11-5 though.

Re: 2006 Predictions

I'll go with 12-4 if we bring it every week, but I think 11-5 because were ussually good for one f*ck up game a year, my guess to the Titans this year. I think we will win the East, its a dogfight with us and NY, and I'm pretty sure we'll split that series. I was talking to a buddy of mine who is a Giant fant and he really really dosent like how their schedule fills in. But I'm gonna go 11-5, NFC East champs....there is NO REASON that this team shouldn't be better than last years team, this is seroiusly the best look we have had in years.

Master4Caster 04-06-2006 06:56 PM

Re: 2006 Predictions

Two games better than last year, so 12-4. However, every NFC Beast team is improved, so tie-breakers will be critical again. If the Skins get a playoff bye and home game, they make a run to the Super Bowl.

jdockser 04-06-2006 07:16 PM

Re: 2006 Predictions

Everyone is so worried about Dallas week 2. Come on, by that time T.O. will have blown up, if not, he will after he meets tay tay and arch. Im most worried about NY and their strong secondary. I think we split with the giants. sweep the eagles and boys. I think carolina and atlanta at home will be close, but it is AT HOME! we split those. Also we will lose one out of jacksonville, indianapolis, and the titans. My guess is the colts. Houston is a toss-up as far as predictions, we must see how bush is after week one. so im optimisticly guessing, 13-3. If i account for the f*ck up, the redskins are known for, i say it happens with the saints or rams. so 12-4 may be more realistic.

The problem I see with this is not that we couldn't start 13-0 or 14-0, but once we get to that point, we would start resting our starters and protecting them from injury.

This is what I view as the biggest roadblock

14-2. We sweep our division. The difference this time is our receiving corps. The Giants don't win win this year.

Here's something funny. Last night I stoped for a drink and caught the last hour of the Masters. A guy had the NFL sechedule and I herd a guy say the skins won't be a factor they don't have a QB and they think Randal El is such a great player. I asked the guy who his team was and he stated the Eagles and then braged about owning the division for the past four years. I then asked him where did that get them and how many SB's have they won? he did not have much of an answer. Then I said Randal was just a part of our team and his signing was alot better then them resigning McCants. He then said McCants played great for them last year. I could only laugh and told him they cut him during the year and he only had a few catches and did not even get over 200 yards. He said that can't be right and we made a bet on it. I then asked him who was going to be their RB and WR for their great QB to throw to and all he could do was come up with Wetbrook and McCants. I then said you know McCants played three years for the skins and if the Eagles are counting on him they are going to have a long season.

After careful study of the very top football experts in the industry including Shawn Salisbury, Peter King, Lenny P, Dr. Z and Don Banks I think that we have a good shot at 0-16. I'll go with 1-15 because those guys can't always be right can they?

how's Salisbury doing anyway?
11-5, I like Tafkas can see them undefeated. However............maybe ...............I'm ......biased. I figure they drop a couple to division foes (not the girls) Indy, and a couple of stumbles along the way. I really think the team made solid if not prophetic changes in FA. The only wild card in my mind is QB. Does Brunell have it, to make full use of the recieving core? I think so.
