OFFICIAL: I Hate The Redskins Draft Pick Thread

Yeah, yeah I know we don't even pick for a few hours but I knew this thread was in the making and just wanted to get a head start.

I hate the Redskins pick for this very reason...
[Reserves the right to fill this part in later]

Anyone else hate the player we picked? Why?

Discuss.

We will trade up and select earlier than 53rd overall.

i don't like what we gave up... plenty of good talent was there (higher rated) than mcintosh, and at 53, he very well may have been there as well, but other lbs and better cbs were there anyways, and some OL/TEs that were equal or better in talent.

miami U pick LB
that excellent

think of ray lewis, vilma, DJ williams
awesome pick for the defense

nevermind if we gave a lot, atleast we got our player
portis and company will be very happy

i guess drafting the best player available went out the window, but all in all i think we got a good one.

they were all faster than 4.63. U players tend to have a good track record in the NFL regardless though. it helps to get a lot of the learning curve out of the way beforehand and adopt good work habits early.

what u guys seem to fail to realize is the skins timetable is to get to the superbowl next season and we're aggrssively gearing up for that now

yup gotta win 1 more with JG before he retires again. nothin better than JG bringing the skins back to greatness and retiring on top again. league has passed him by??/

o and trading away draft picks only works in videogames. you can't form a franchise around signing big contracts. Steelers drafted like 19 of 22 superbowl starters. look at the raven's draft records. ok so heath shuler can scare a lot of people away from the draft but we can't rely on FA every year.

o and the U wasn't that good this year U dominance isn't automatic. what was he the 1st U defender selected?

How fast did Greenway, Ryans and, Sims run?

no, i think everyone gets that, but it doesn't suddenly make getting ripped off a better deal.

kelly jennings (seahawks) at #31

vilma has 4.58, is smaller. 4.60 for DJ, and he was a running back in high school. I cant find lewis' 40 time but he went later in the draft becasue he was considered undersized.

DJ Williams is probably the most physically gifted of the group, but Rocky is probably ahead of lewis and Vilma. You can only hope and dream he has the on the field talent of one of those two

4.6, 4.65, 4.5... carpenter (20lbs heavier) ran 4.65, manny lawson ran 4.4, jon alston ran 4.4.

vilma ran 4.6, DJ williams ran 4.55. looking for lewis

inside linebackers usually run slower though. 4.6 is average at OLB, 4.7ish is closer to average at ILB.

I think the Skins got good value with the McIntosh pick. They obviously had their eyes on this guy and didn't want to risk losing him.

You've gotta like he comes from Football U, going by his wonderlic he appears to be a bright guy, and did anyone really feel 100% comfortable with a Holdman/Clemons platoon??

I think JG will be around longer than we think. The fact of the matter is that coaches are coaching longer these days. Think Parcells and Joe Pa.

As long as his health holds up I wouldn't rule out him staying longer than his 5 year deal either.
