It looks pretty good, although i'm more in favor of controlling c.po as my blockers find the hole, instead of being the blocker and trying to find c.po a hole to go through.

the thing that excites me, is that it said somewhere in that article that teams would now have individual defensive playbooks, instead of just the base 4-3, 3-4,etc. sets. We can finally use Gregg Williams plays on defense, which will be pretty sweet.

it said specific plays for playing specific teams i thought... we'll see though.

the blocking addition sounds like a good thing, as long as its optional. and the superstar changes are needed, but they also need a practice mode than doesn't screw up your guy and actually lets you practice, as well as some way to fix the whole 30 pratcice session thing that's a total drag and wastes a lot of time to bypass (enter practice, immediately leave) o it doesn't kill your guys stats.

I hate how at first, Madden is always fresh and exciting. This year it took me a good month to be at a comfortable level. Within 3 months, i had mastered the game against the AI. I was capable of scoring 55 points each game to someone else's 20, even on ALL madden. I hope the AI is upgraded.

I think graphically it looks really good.

Those last few screenshots though, I was thinking they were from the PS2 possibly just because the first like.. 6 are so well defined and has lots of depth graphically and then it was like.. the last few weren't.

Makes me kinda glad I picked up a Xbox 360 after all.

i can't pass, but i can get vick 400-800 yards a game (every game) with PA passes and then just running left or right... It's really nice when you're QB can outrun a CB blitz.

the AI has always been crap though. in 2004 you could just take any fast rb and the spin move and get 300 yards every game. they toned that down, but it takes forever for them to fix anything. nothing ever works right the first time.

'06 was the first time in a while I totally lost interest in Madden.

NCAA '06 is much better in my opinion, thank god for that game otherwise I would be really hurtin'.

blitz (the league) may be more action and less sim, but i don't really know. the investment in a new title now is so high, a lot of the huge companies are content with just making sequels (madden 2007, hero's of might and magic 5, elderscroll 4 (oblivion), final fantasy 3495, doom 3, quake 4, unreal tournament 2007, crappy movie tie in game after movie tie in game, EQ/EQ2/WoW/the warhammer mmorpg, all are the exact same game).

I wish more major titles focused on gameplay, but whatever... at least emus are out there and some indies continue to try new things. (ut and homm, while sequels, at least keep the good parts and continue to improve drastically between releases)

blocking, turning off vision cone by default, superstar mode improvements, highlight stick (like the truck stick, but for speed backs)... HOPEFULLY unborked player progressions in franchise mode, but their bug fixing track record is pretty bad :/

After all the costumes, Portis, made a big self marketing thing with that Im sure he is a future top canidate. One that will reverse the curse. How hot would that be win super bowl this year have CP on the cover shining, reverse the curse and become EA's spokesman.

This new madden will also feature:

• Lead Block Through the Lanes—For the first time ever, control the lead blocker on running plays. Throw the perfect block to create a running lane, then take control of the tailback and rip off the big gain.

• The Season Begins in Mini-Camp—Create a player then build up his attributes by running him through skill-based, combine-type mini-games. In the off-season, use Mini-Camp games and drills to condition players or to rehab injured players to get them back on the field faster. I also heard they will be limiting how after 1 year or two every player is at 99 Ovr.

• Madden Gamer Level—Track your career accomplishments in Franchise Mode to earn Madden Gamer Points, then wager your rewards against the computer or live online opponents to reach the ultimate reward—the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

• All-New Running Moves—Use the all-new Highlight Stick to evade defenders with new jukes, cutbacks, and power moves. Smaller backs escape and break tackles, while bigger runners bowl over defenders in the open field. Imagine being able to set up combos to shake wiggle spin duck juke out of tackling situations like barry sanders was able to.

• Run Like the Players Run—All-new running styles match those of your favorite NFL running backs. Further research has said the significance with this is as you unlock these legends you will then be able to create players that will have their traits and DNA structure to be apart of your team.

• Replay Challenge—Throw the red flag and challenge any play. Overturned calls or plays "that stand" play a huge effect on the outcome of every game.This worries me b/c they still allow for ref error.

The feature that enables you to play solely as your created player is cool. For all the people who wanted to live in 2002 still can. Alot of cry babies last year about the passing cone and how they had to adjust, I feel no pain.If your a WR that is it, you do not pick the players, you do not use the vision, throw the pass, block anything. Run your route and do you. There will be player specific cameras. When the other side of the ball is on game speed is sped up if you prefer not to play defense or if you do hop on in.

This is a feature that seems to hail from espn2k games. ESPN 2k actually was not far off from mastering the 1st person mode, but EA snubbed all. The future lies in individuality. Being able to be anyone on the field. This year will def. be steps in the right direction towards authenticity and realism to my hopeful future goal of having 11 vs 11 online teams, and possible leagues. Thats my dream of being a Redskin Cyber Athlete.
