Tom Cruise v. Brad Pitt

Okay, first of all this isn't a thread about who looks better. So chill.

I was just having a conversation with a fellow co-worker about Jerry McGuire and the conversation seg-wayed (is that a word?) into how Tom Cruise is sorta losing stock in the public eye. And we conclude that it was because of how he left his wife, new chick, etc. But then I thought, well, Brad Pitt basically dumped his wife for another chick and no one's really give him much shit about it.

So is it me or is there more to it than meets the eye. Or you guys haven't noticed and could care less??

It's because Brad Pitt isn't as fucking nuts as Cruise.

I'LL gladly give Pitt shit for dumping Anniston. You gotta' be CRAZY.

No shit, she's fine as Frogg's hair!! But you never know what she's like in private....most of those female celebs are pretty insecure.

See maybe this is not fair because some of you may have forgiven Tom Cruise of being a fucking psyco because of his new box office hit MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 3 but allow me to show you just a glimps of this man promoting said movie.

Add Troy and Seven Years in Tibet.

Re: Tom Cruise v. Brad Pitt

People dislike Cruise not because of the way he left his wife(which was like years ago anyways) but because he is nutsoid and insulted thousands, no millions, of people with his comments about psyhciatric medicine and his overall crazy as bat crap behavior. He comes off as a superior know-it-all jerk and he hasn't made an actual quality movie of substance in years.

I think that some people arent tough enough mentally to handle the type of hype that has surrounded Tom for 2 decades. It will change you, make you more aloof. And it will appear that he has a superiority complex because he is really not in touch with reality as you and I know it.

I think Tom is the better actor, but it's a close heat. Interview with a Vampire is a good way to compare them.

At least Pitt seems like a guy who you could sit at a bar and drink a beer with. He doesn't seem like a Hollywood asshole really.

Angelina Jolie vs Nicole Kidman vs Jennifer Aniston vs Katie Holmes.

First off, I'm I the only guy on the planet who doesn't find Anelina attractive?

On a scale of 10 here is my rating for each acctress:

Nicole Kidman - 9.9 - Sexy Redhead. I have a thing for redheads.
Katie Holmes - 8.9 - Pretty and innocent looking face.
Jennifer Aniston - 7.5 - Not spectacular but OK.
Angelina Jolie - 7 - Is is OK, but she ain't as hot as people say she is. Not to me anyways.

p.s. Tom lost people when he started divulging his personal life. I don't really want to hear you're a Scientologist. It makes you seem stupid.

Actually Interview With a Vampire was good. I think the general perception is that Brad is your basic cool guy whereas Cruise is well, I think people have different perceptions of him...but when it comes to pure acting it's pretty close.

LOL... some like steak, others dig lobster*.

Nothing wrong with lobster** from time to time, but I'll take a steak first.

But don't get me wrong. I wouldn't kick Jennifer Aniston out of bed for eating crackers!

* I purposefully avoided using chocolate and vanilla for my food metaphors, thereby steering the thread away race.

Yay me!:food-smil

** Here is another instance where the chocolate/vanilla metaphor may have blown up in my face. By comparing Aniston to "lobster" instead of "vanilla", I should now also avoid replies like: "Jenifur Anstinon is not vanillllaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111!! I pwn ur Mom!!!!!!111!!"

Im always pleasantly surprised by how many arguments are actually won by just saying "snatch." I rely on the various meanings to enhance every social outing I find myself at.

Besides, Angelina Jolie is also the only woman on the face of the planet that the average straight woman would do.

That's the ultimate trump card in my book!

After her, I'd go for Nicole, Aniston, and then, well, eh.

You can keep the other one. The terrified doe in the headlights look she's been sporting the past few months just doesn't do it for me.

Angelina is a freak show (making out with brother, keeping vial of blood around her neck). Nicole is "ehhh." Aniston is by far the best of the bunch.

My friend met Tom Cruise the other day in L.A. and she said he was actually one of the nicest people she had ever spoken to (even if it was for 5 minutes). He seems like one of the nice crazy guys.

I gotta go with Jolie, Kidman and Aniston are 2a & 2b, and then Holmes. Jolie's lips and body are just...wow. Sure she is crazy as shit but for me the hornier than hell side of her overrides my fears of her sanity, lol. Kidman's a hot redhead but could use a bit more thickness and Aniston has the gorgeous girl next door thing going. And Katie used to be hotter but the last year or so is just so-so.

pretty predictable but I must say not horrible, i hate almost all action movies(unless ofcourse they are action comedies and in that case the Rush hours and the bad boys are amazing) but this was my favorite MI. My theater was pretty loud and everyone was have a good old time, at the end there was a guy that yelled WOOOOOOO and then people started clapping and it wasn't liek one or two people, it was like 30% of the theater, or at least the people around me. I think that it ended WAY TO abruptly and they could have seriously taken some off the front and added it to the end or something because I can't even pick out the actual climax, it just blew by so quickly, there was no conflict really that i cared about and if the climax was (OK STOP READING IF YOU HAVEN"T SEEN IT...... NOW) when he found his wife then they should have devoted more to it. THe one thing I hate about the MIs are all the face masks, stop with the damn masks. It is messed up and that all they do. In MI II all they do is pull off their face masks over and over and then people pull them off twice and 3 times and more.

BSB rating- 7.7(this is pretty good)
Best action/drama in a while was cinderella man that receives a 9.6 (breaking 9 is like woah)

a lot of people were clapping like crazy when I went to see it 2 and a side note it was kinda weird the lack of reaction by the crowd towards the superman trailer or atleast I thought that was kinda weird.

and I agree 100% about cinderella man. I finally saw that last night and even though I knew to an extent what would happen, I was still getting amped up and cheering Braddock on in the final fight. and if that fight was anything close to how they invisioned it in the film, that must have been one hell of a boxing match to watch.

BigSKINBauer 05-13-2006 12:55 AM

Re: Tom Cruise v. Brad Pitt

i didn't get there early enough to watch the superman trailer but i assume they played it. I had to sit fairly close. For cinderella man i was like 4th row and breaking my neck but it made all the punches that much better. Ron Howard is a really good director. Gladiator is up above a 9.5 also on the ever important BSB rankings
