Taylor not considering the Postons

Thank God for small favors:

Meantime, Taylor still hasn't signed an agent after dismissing Drew Rosenhaus, but recently told the Redskins that he isn't considering Carl and Kevin Poston, according to sources. Several agents are interested in Taylor, but Eugene Parker, Eugene Mato and Jeff Moorad are believed to be the top candidates.

That is very good news the Postons are ass holes.I like Parker he is a good person

Bergman14 05-13-2004 11:11 AM

I think the Redskins said they would prefer Parker over everyone, Snyder really likes him. As long as its not the Potsons, it doesnt matter

Has anyone heard why he fired rosenhaus to begin with?

SkinsRock 05-13-2004 02:09 PM

No Postons is definitely a good thing!
Has anyone heard why he fired rosenhaus to begin with?
I've been wondering the same thing.

JWsleep 05-13-2004 02:53 PM

Yeah, this is the most intriguing thing going on right now. I am really curious as to what went down with Rosenhaus.

Thank god it's not the Postons, but let's hope Taylor gets it together soon, so we can sign his ass and get him into camp on time!!!

PSUskinsfan11 05-13-2004 03:41 PM

I hope he signs soon can't wait for that #36 jersey to be for sale!!!!

MTK 05-13-2004 04:05 PM

I'll be torn between a Taylor or Portis jersey. Guess it depends on what # Portis ends up with.

hi-jinx 05-13-2004 04:56 PM

I am so glad that hes not going with the Postons. I felt sick the day after I was laughing at that Postons cartoon that all this about Taylor blew up. I hope he picks someone quick, hate to see him miss any training camp. Has anyone signed a top ten pick yet?

Ps Incase anyone hasn't seen this:

Personally I've seen it 10 times and still laugh.

JWsleep 05-13-2004 07:14 PM

Hilarious! :laughing-

Daseal 05-13-2004 07:29 PM

I think Taylor wants to sign and he'll get an agent to get it done quick. Snyder isn't exactly known for stiffing guys.

The best thing in that cartoon is Winslow's only line. "I'm a F*****G Soldier!"

Hilarious.

I dont know if you believe Lavar the Redskins are trying to rob him of 6.5 mil. Another wonderful Poston story.

My favorite part is the happy ending. LOL. I had to post the url on a Browns website, most of them thought it was pretty funny.

Daseal 05-13-2004 10:47 PM

LaVar dropped that greivance, did he not?

Also - Taylor happens to be considering agents which get along with Snyder. Maybe Roethislisbu or whatever his name is wanted a hold out? I remember hearing him say McGahee would be rookie of the year. RIIIIIGGGHHHT.

sportscurmudgeon 05-14-2004 11:13 AM

Daseal:

Where did you hear that Arrington dropped his grievance? I heard that there was to be a hearing around 8 June.

hi-jinx 05-14-2004 12:45 PM

Last I heard it was to go before an arbitrator at some point. I think he is talking about it less. Ofcourse the Ponstons are for once not saying anything because this makes them look so bad. How cold you not read a cilents contract before he signs it? That should be agent 101.

NFLNetwork 05-14-2004 01:37 PM

OMG...THAT POSTON THING IS HALARIOUS. I DIDNT EVEN KNOW THE POSTONS WERE BLACK...LMAO. Whoever created that was a genius

hi-jinx 05-14-2004 03:12 PM

I didn't know they were black either. A lot of people say that. The other thing is there are a ton of thos cartoons on that site I like to law and order one and the one with the justice league.

love them hogs 05-15-2004 09:46 AM

That cartoon is pretty damn funny.Did anyone notice the girl all the way to the right has an upside down nose?

Daseal 05-15-2004 11:13 AM

Well, I assumed he did because he said that the money wasn't worth losing the respect of the fans, maybe he hasn't. Sorry!

hi-jinx 05-15-2004 12:00 PM

I think when he said that he was asked whether he would hold out or play half-assed should the 3rd party arbratator find against him. I thik he was basiclly saying that if he was on the feild the fans could count on him playing his best.

SKINSnCANES 05-15-2004 09:50 PM

yea Lavar seperated his playing from business, and said hes working on getting his realtionship with ownership back together but wants to fix the problem. Lavar wants to be MVP, he knows he is given a lot of credit then hastn really performed as well as some people think.

Redskins8588 06-03-2004 11:45 PM

According to Washington Post Taylor is supposed to choose Eugene Mato as his agent.

"Rookie safety Sean Taylor, the team's No. 1 draft pick, is expected to choose Eugene Mato as his agent in the next several days, according to several sources with knowledge of the situation who requested anonymity because the decision isn't official. Mato, based in Coral Gables, Fla., with International Athlete Management, has strong ties to the University of Miami, where Taylor played."

Do anyone know much about him? Or how contract negotiations will go?

SmootSmack 06-04-2004 12:11 AM

Mato is a '91 graduate of Miami and I believe he has just one client, Plaxico Burress

Redskins8588 06-04-2004 12:22 AM

Will he be easy to deal with, so that Taylor is at training camp on time?

SKINSnCANES 06-04-2004 12:24 AM

isnt there a camp or something this weekend?
As long as he signs quick I dont care who he has.

Redskins8588 06-04-2004 12:28 AM

SKINSnCANES: Yeah there is a mini-camp this weekend but the media is only allowed for like the first 20 min to half-hour of practice. Gibbs does not want the media there to distract the team.

SKINSnCANES 06-04-2004 12:31 AM

well, looks like everyone is going ot have to get out footage form the 80's to try and guess what Gibbs is going to do this year. Im hoping in preseason he just does whatever to get peopel playing time then we open up a can of whoop ass in week one when he rolls up his sleeves and has a field day with the opposing defense.
