Re: Doug Williams 2nd Quarter!!!

:( I was negitive 4 months old. I wasn't alive to see it. I can only hope that my mother was watching and I could hear the game in all of its glory.

It was great to see though. That was close to 350 yards in a quarter! There will never, ever be a quarter like that in a super bowl.

Re: Doug Williams 2nd Quarter!!!

Just unreal how they can do that after only 63 total yards of offense in the first quarter. Ih hope this is a glimpse of what maybe to come for the skins.

That was the FIRST Super Bowl I ever watched. It's still the BEST one I've seen. :)

Re: Doug Williams 2nd Quarter!!!

I was 10 years old and I remember watching with my Dad and him hootin' and hollerin' at our little 19" TV during that quarter. I think that is the moment I went from being a kid watching his dad's team just because, to an "adult" fan with a true personal love for the team.

Funny thing...for all his passion in my youth, my dad thinks Free Agency ruined the game and hasn't watched pro-football since the early 90's. He's moved on to NASCAR (yuck).

I actually remember watching that even though I was only 5. I honestly don't remember anything that happened during it (I've seen highlights since, of course) but I remember everyone cheering and whatnot. I'll certainly remember XLI.

Re: Doug Williams 2nd Quarter!!!

Almost brings tears to my eyes.

Doug Williams obviously had an awesome quarter, but Timmy Smith wasn't too bad either ;)

Williams size and stance reminds me alot of Jason Campbell, or at least the few college games I saw him in.

And Gary Sanders was just friggin' awesome.

D'oh! I was thinking Gary Clark and Ricky Sanders and in some brilliantly dislexic move combined the two.

My sincere apologies. I'll voluntarily give up my man card for 24 hours to atone for the sin.

At least you left Art Monk's name alone.

I was 14 and will never forget it.

I still have the love seat that I saw John Riggins scamper on 70 chip in SB 17! Might never get rid of it. And its kinda nasty...

great video clip. doug williams sure did look good in that game. did anyone besides me notice something about that game? ricky sanders sure reminded me alot of santana moss in that game. if you watch that second quarter again...its alot of what we saw santana doing this past season.

I was 2 years old, probably wasnt watching it cuz my dad stuffed me away to not have to deal with me during the superbowl, i was a little b*stard, but i wish i could say i was watchin it cuz its probably the best quarter of football that will be in my lifetime (in my eyes anyway)

Re: Doug Williams 2nd Quarter!!!

I was 16 years old with my parents at the neighbor's house for a superbowl party. My friend Sean and I were the only ones pulling for the Skins (hogs and smurfs for all the younger fans), until that miraculous 2nd quarter that I will never forget. I have been a Redskins fan since I can remember, and I know superbowl champion Skins are not to far away.

Re: Doug Williams 2nd Quarter!!!

I just watched this game on NFL Network last week. I forgot how nasty Williams' knee-tweaking looked...and he came right back to dismantle the Broncos.

It's a shame we couldn't have used him for a few more seasons.

Re: Doug Williams 2nd Quarter!!!

I remember it like yesterday. I just returned from Japan (US Marine), and after we fell down 10-0 got bashed by the entire Superbowl Party. I poured a stiff Cognac and double all my bets:food-smil . The O-line did a great job of protecting Doug after the injury. I hate to say this, but when he got hurt it looked like he fumbled. Great highlights, I think we are in for one great year.
