Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
I haven't seen this posted; Sorry if it has. I was driving home Saturday afternoon listening to Espn Radio co-hosted by John Clayton and Sean Salisbury. They got into a Fact or Fiction segment, with one of the questions being: Fact or Fiction: The Redskins will make the playoffs. Clayton started off saying "100% Fact" that the Skins will make the playoffs, and said we would win the division too. Defense, Al Saunders, Lloyd, El, etc., etc. Yada, Yada, Yada. Not too surprising, as John Clayton is fairly objective and pretty knowledgeable. Salisbury was up next. Well, my jaw dropped when Steakman said "I have to agree with you John, the Redskins will ABSOLUTELY make the playoffs" and are in fact Super Bowl contenders. Yeah, that's right. It's hard to believe, and I wish I had it on tape. But he went on and on and on about GW and our defense, Al Saunders, A. Carter, El, Lloyd, etc. I know it's hard to believe, but he seemed very earnest. Well, anyway, did anyone else hear the show? Looks like even Sean is changing his tune. |
Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
It sounded like he was changing his tune around draft time, so this is not surprising. He usually takes playoff teams from the previous year and rationalizes why they will return.
He lacks ingenuity. |
Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
Doesn't make up for shit. Maybe he shoudl find taf at espn and he will give him directions down here.
|
Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
salisbury is a classic second guesser. he's so afraid of being wrong that he only makes predictions based on group think.
|
Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
thats right on the money. saliisbury never thinks outside the box. who ever everyone else is picking, thats who he likes, too.

Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
Does Salisbury do anything but read what someone else has said? I have yet to hear one original piece of analysis from him.
Hey ESPN - Replace him with a bobble-head and save yourselves some cash. |

We'll see. |

Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
Was the ESPN Radio show called "The Huddle"? Because I listened to it as well. And both Clayton and Salisbury said the the Redskins will probably lose the division, but go deeper in the playoffs than the division winner.

Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
Well now we're screwed.
Stupid bandwagon... |
Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
The bandwagen will definitely have more steam this year!
|
Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
did he mention anything about traveling naked? we seem to bring that out of him.
|
Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
Sean Salisbury needs to go back to hosting Battle Bots.
|

I was unaware the bandwagon was steam powered. I was under the impression it was horse-drawn - am I wrong? |

No, it's definitely steamed powered! |

I guess that explains why AMD was back there shoveling coal. If it IS steampowered, someone still needs to explain the two horses walking up front...they may be lost. |

Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
I think both of you are wrong though; the Bandwagon has been diesel powered since 1982.
|
Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
I'm not surprised at all. You'd really have to be very foolish to count out the Skins before the season starts.

You're right AMD, it has been diesel powered since '82. And contrary to my previous statement, it's now powered by wind....Hurricane winds to be exact! |

And contrary to my previous statement, it's now powered by wind....Hurricane winds to be exact!
That's understandable, what with gas being so expensive and all. |
Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
Diesel?! The rising cost of fuel is going to make powering this bandwagon at ALL an incredibly expensive proposition.
I say we go back to steam/donkeys. |

Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
That was a make-up call for the "Long Walk" he weaseled out of last year. Clayton does have a point tho, we are gonna be nasty.
|
Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
do you suppose it was all of our e-mails that cowed that bitch?
|
Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
They now have this posted as a "podcast" on the front page of ESPN's NFL section. The Skins discussion is the last item...
|
Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
i'd have to disagree with the bandwagon, they brought in E85 cornhusk ethanol especially for al saunders and his high powered offenses, coach gibbs has a reigns and its on its way to miami eta january.
|
Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
Podcast of what Clayton and Salisbury said. They talk about the skins in the last segment.

Are those reins figurative? I didn't know ehthanol-powered vehicles were controlled by reins. But what do I know - I'm still as confused as hell about the donkeys. |
Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
Hell Clayton said that Lavar had made a verbal commitment to Miami !

Re: Clayton and Salisbury: Fact or Fiction.
Sweet....When I saw the title was fact or fiction and metioned salisbury, I thought it was gonna be: fact or fiction, sean salisbury is the biggest dick in the sports analyst world. but happy to see what it was.
By the way the answer to that is fact. |

I can think of 30 other teams saying this same thing right now. SF knows what's coming... Everyone's a winner in the offseason! |

I learned last year during the playoffs not to pay attention to what Lavar is saying. How are Plexiglass and Eli doing? Burress is a whining little bitch who is going to get shut up and shut down by the Bruise Brothers. |
