Can any Secondary slow the skins down? NO.
Looking at the schedule I dont see any teams that can match up with our Offense. Health, and depth will be a determining factor.
9/11 vs. Vikings--Their D IS talented and should provide competition. It will be a crucial game to get out ahead with a win in week 1. Espn better not cut away from the game, I dont like double headers hogging the Skins' spotlight. 9/17 @ Cowboys- First Divsional Test on a shortened week and it is happens to be on their turf. Gonna be alot of hype to this game. We did them dirty and now they have the dirtiest WR. We better run them ragged. They have an easy schedule, but, they will finish 3rd in Division. Week 3 is Dallas' bye week 9/24 @ Texans- Not much to say, blow out. 10/1 vs. Jaguars- People sleep on Jax but the AFC is not the skins strong point 10/8 @ Giants- Coming off their bye week hopefully they will be rusty. Its good to get the away games out of the way but this will be tough. 10/15 vs. Titans -Young team that will suprise a few teams this year but not us. 10/22 @ Colts -Coming off their bye week. I think Greg Williams will exhaust them in shutting them down yet, Peyton is peyton. I still like their Running options w/ mungro, rhoades, and rookie addai. Probably the diferrence maker in the division as dall vs ny next day. BYE 11/5 vs. Cowboys- Easy portion of the schedule is done. Hopefully they will be not up to it and TO will be hating Dallas at this point. 11/12 @ Eagles - Defense is still intact., and would love to stick it to us. 11/19 @ Buccaneers -They will be ready for revenge 11/26 vs. Panthers -A dangerous game, glad to be home 12/3 vs. Falcons -A dangerous game, does Atl play well outdoors?? 12/10 vs. Eagles - Back home with division locked up 12/17 @ Saints -Smashed them, 12/24 @ Rams -Smashed them 12/30 vs. Giants -Home game, momentum. Take the week off and head into the playoffs. Skins 12-4 Giants 11-5 Cowboys 10-6 Philly -They stopped counting. |
Re: Can any Secondary slow the skins down? NO.
We shall see. I hope you're right. But these games are not won on paper.
|
Re: Can any Secondary slow the skins down? NO.
After carefully examining our schedule I have determined that we will finish the season 16-0.

If not, here's mine: 13-3 with losses @ Dallas, @ Phili, and @ TB on paper. The toughest home game will be Jacksonville, because they play so well on the road. Don't sleep on Houston either. Watch them maul Phili in week one. That should wake the rest of the league. I predict a win vs. them, but Houston probably had the best offseason of any team. Indy has lost at home in the past (with a stronger team than they have now) to teams far worse then our Skins. They can be had. CAR and ATL are good teams but we should win at home. Vick is a weak cold weather QB. He doesn't stand and take the hit and deliver the ball like he does at home. That's a late Nov. game, and won't be much of a challenge. Everyother game is a potential trap, but overall should be wins. |
Re: Can any Secondary slow the skins down? NO.
I think your right ,the NFL has just annouced the the Skins win everything and the rest of the season has been canceld!:goodjob:

Re: Can any Secondary slow the skins down? NO.
someone around here summed it up best, eli manning = billy ripken. and thanks giantone for taking lavar off our hands. the soap opera continues in new york. if he couldnt handle greg williams, how the hell is he going to do with tom coughlin?

Re: Can any Secondary slow the skins down? NO.
this is one mean schedule, we've got the nfc & afc south, not to mention our division may be the toughest in the nfl. The only really weak teams on our schedule are Minn. & Tenn. Both of them have major losses to their offense, and don't have dominant d's either. Other than that I can honestly see 75% of the others being decided by less than 7, the others by less than 14.
Don't sleep on Houston either. Carr may be due for a great year, they've made some changes & he's got Moulds to go w/Andre Johnson, whose definitely a beast. They may not be playoff bound but they'll beat some playoff teams. NO & St.L are 2 others that I think could surprise a lot of people. In short, this schedule & the nfl in general is just wide open. It seems now every year there are 5-6 teams that are a handful of plays away from making the playoffs. I'd be thrilled w/12-4 as MightyJoeG predicts, but I'm not as confident. |

First off ,it's Tim Lewis .Thank you for Lavar,we're not paying him anything if he plays well he gets paid if he pulls up lame it does'nt hurt us .Eli(billy) to you all won the NFC east what did your guy a veteran do ?Oh and by the way the whole team stunk up the playoffs just not Eli.The soap opera is in Washington ,can they finally win in January instead of June and on paper like always ?Stay tuned to the same Bat channel!:spank: :smashfrea |
Re: Can any Secondary slow the skins down? NO.
I thought they did win in January unlike the Giants.

Peyton Manning, Delhomme, McNabb & Bledsoe are the only ones that I think are providing stability at that position. Some are up and coming like Eli and Simms but they're not there yet. 4) Our free agent pickups that we acquired are additions, not really replacements. |

If that's the case then it's just an unfortunate coincidence. The way the schedule is determined is about as fair as it can be. |

Now you may remember better than I do, but didn't the Skins win their first playoff game this past season? I feel like we beat Tampa, but maybe I'm wrong. Also, didn't the g-string divas get DOMINATED in their own (not really their own since they have to share it) stadium? I mean a shut out at home in the playoffs? That's pretty upsetting. I guess I understand why you're so bitter all the time. |

Well that would just mean that we were winning 42-3 in the 4th and our 3rd string needed to punt. |

Re: Can any Secondary slow the skins down? NO.
On paper our receivers look awfully tough to contain. When someone like Patten is your #4, you've got some serious depth.
Add in a TE like Cooley who's coming off a 71 catch season, and this is looking like a very potent passing game that will give defensive coordinators around the league fits all year. |

Plus, Portis out of the backfield in Holmes/Faulk-like fashion! |

I love our passing attack- WR's, TE's, RB's. Nothing new, but i'm just worried about who's getting the ball to them.

What is that combo supposed to mean? It's like trying to figure out what symbols written on cave walls 10,000 years ago mean with you. Is drinking with friends naughty? Does saying 'cheers' lead to breaking glass, which is a big no-no? It sarcasm somehow involved? Remember G.I. Ant One, if that is your real name, grown-ups use their big boy words. |
