Parcells may call plays
Cowboys | Parcells may call plays, should be successful
Tue, 11 Jul 2006 19:39:22 -0700 Vic Carucci, of NFL.com, reports Dallas Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells may fill the void of play-calling on offense himself. Parcells has experience calling plays from his days with the New York Jets and knows when is best to exploit the defense. Parcells, also, has a knack of getting the most from veteran QB Drew Bledsoe. and who said losing their offensive coordinator won't affect them...parcells blows, he's too conservative.....and hes also fat and gay |
Re: Parcells may call plays
What happened to the attitude of respecting your opponents, instead of trying to tear them down? Bill Parcells is a great coach and a fine person, and no one deserves to be dehumanized like this.
The Redskins wouldn't be the Redskins without worthy opponents like Bill Parcells over the years to be challenged by. |
Re: Parcells may call plays
cause its funny.
|
Re: Parcells may call plays
I appreciate the news abouit the playcalling at Dallas.
However making rude comments about someone behind their back is not funny ... Not even if it is a Cowboy. Sorry if I'm too old fashioned. |
Re: Parcells may call plays
Whoa! Talk about panties in a bunch! Easy there!!! I thought the left coast was easy going...
|
Re: Parcells may call plays
I'm pretty old fashion myself. Just my opinion, but I believe "we" as a society are WAY to uptight with political correctness. We have lost the ability to laugh at ourselves, we can no longer tell the truth because it might not be what somebody wants to hear. I believe there is no harm in poking fun, (albeit tasteless-yet funny) especially when it is someone in the public eye. When your a celeb, get used to it. ---------devotedly yours in tasteless (and tasteful) humor!

Good post. |

Are you guys kidding me? Those who can't take or understand jokes can kindly not let the door hit them on the way out.

Re: Parcells may call plays
Wow! Two days in a row of postage drama. Yup, training camp must be just around the corner. I mean...ARRRGGGHHH!!! {spits on ground}
|
Re: Parcells may call plays
I don't care who you are that there is funny
|
Re: Parcells may call plays
HA! Wow, I just came in and people are defending Parcells?!
|
Re: Parcells may call plays
I find it amusing that our team is searching for new ways to win games (hiring a new playcaller on offense), and theirs is going to try to do it the old way (going back to 80's era playcalling).
|
Re: Parcells may call plays
Good! Hopefully his desire to rein in TO will result in him trying especially hard to distribute the passing game to as many players as he can. This results in TO complaining and everyone getting mad. Thanks for the division, Bill! Not that we really needed your help but thanks anyway.

Re: Parcells may call plays
Haha Scheend I love your advice...

What I find MOST amusing is that it (at least seems) that teams in the NFC East are preparing JUST for the Redskins. |
Re: Parcells may call plays
The first thing that I thought to post after reading the title "Parcells may call plays", is "Parcells may also be gay", but it seems that issue has already been addressed.
Obviously we do know Parcells is a decent coach, the stats show that, but come on he is the Cowboys coach, our arch rivals. Are you guys(referring to those who seem "upset") seriously not going to have fun talking a little bit of smack to Parcells? Geez, it is also offseason, what the hell else are we suppose to do? Hey I got an idea, lets talk about if Brunell should start, or better yet, lets talk bout how LaVar is a dick for leaving, and why Ramsey should have stayed. F that shit, its offseason, so I personally authorize the shit talking to continue..... |

You make a good point, TMC. The Giants grabbed a lot of secondary depth obviously to counter our speedy wideout options. On the flip side, were the 'Skins offseason moves made as a counter to any of the other specific teams perceived weaknesses? I don't think so, in fact it looks to me that the other NFC teams have us in their sights not last year's "division champs". |

On paper we shouldn't lose this division. We ahev the most rounded team with playmakers everywhere. But on paper means little. The team who stays healthiest wins this division I think. The coaching on every team is good and the talent on every team is above average at the least. We are gonna beat each other up and see who stays on top. Hopefully it will be us. |

But a Giants fan could easily say their secondary sucked and was bunned on numerous occasions, not just agaisnt Moss and Company. I understand where you guys are coming from, but it could also be viewed in another way. |
Re: Parcells may call plays
I know what you mean but it still looks to me that we appear to be looking (slightly) behind us at the other NFC East teams.
On a side note, did anybody read the comments at the bottom of the Jon Jansen article? Check out who wrote in his opinion on the second comment. |
Re: Parcells may call plays
All teams gear their rosters towards their division and conference rivals.
Especially within the division since those games are so critical. |
Re: Parcells may call plays
Yeah, I thought that was pretty crazy. Looks like ol' Mr. Brown still keeps in contact with Redskins news.

But I guess since we were 5-1 in the division, the teams that didn't do well in the division, made more moves to counter us... |
Re: Parcells may call plays
I wonder if the team is still trying to bring Ray back as a coach. I know it was discussed at the end of the season. I think he would be a great guy to have around the team.
|
Re: Parcells may call plays
Ray's comment was well worded and he brought up good points. He seems like he is educated in the game quite well, maybe he wouldn't make a bad coach.

Re: Parcells may call plays
Wow. If you can't make fun of the coach of the Dallas Cowboys on a redskins fan site, where can you?
Anywho--I wonder if this will affect the TO situation. There will be no buffer between Parcells and TO when it comes to play calling, and we know both of them can get pretty testy out there. The NFC East is a beast--but what more could you want? 6 kick ass games, with the best team standing looking good for the playoffs. If you can win here, you can win against anyone. |
Re: Parcells may call plays
I know everyone is LOVING the NFC East being back, but tell me you REALLY wouldn't love to see the Skins totally ream the division for a couple years Eagles-style before we all got competitive.
At least I would. It would be good for my heart. |

Re: Parcells may call plays
HAHA. True enough. I would have loved for every other NFC East team to have crashed and burned this offseason.

Re: Parcells may call plays
Good thread, even if it seemed to offend a few. Jokes aside, I was just thinking yesterday about Peyton leaving for the NO job. People talk about Saunders coming here, but what about the impact of Dallas OC leaving?
Parcells calling plays will be interesting, especially considering TO's history of going after the coordinator when he's not happy. In SF & philly he went after the coordinator & qb in that order, but not the head coach. We'll see what happens when he's not getting the ball thrown his way enough! |

Sort of daring TO to come after him because he won't tolerate it. This really could be an effective way to control TO. |

That's an angle I hadn't thought of. Maybe To won't gripe to parcells & instead will resort to pouting & running lazy routes. His passive agressive side hasn't been unleashed yet! |
Re: Parcells may call plays
I'm all for football-related trashtalking...it's part of the game and seperates the men in football from the boys in soccer...but the stupid pictures trying to say he's gay are just over the line in my opinion.
You don't think people could say stuff like that about Clinton Portis? They wouldn't even have to edit the pictures, just throw on a hateful caption. The fans of the Cowboys and Eagles are usually the lowlives of the league. Redskins fans have always been some of the most respectful and proud, even with wigs and pig noses. Let's not join the likes of the people who boo Santa Claus or our new QB on draft day. If we had booed when we drafted Jason Campbell like McNabb was treated, I would've been ashamed. |

And the other is so ridiculous that it can't be taken seriously. This is a non-issue. |
