Im guessing this is true league-wide.

Yup, I've been telling myself deep-down that it doesn't mean anything.

That being said, I still can't stand seeing us get raped every game this preseason. I just want to see SOMETHING good.

Good morning dmek.

I'm "OK" I guess. I'm trying really hard to keep my initial pre-preseason expectations, but it's tough to think that the coaches REALLY wanted the team to lose.

Yeah that's mularkey. No coach wants the team to lose. They just wanted to evaluate the team in certain situations and didn't really care if they won or lost.

But they did want to see those players perform well in those certain situations. And many didn't.

I didnt see anywhere that it said the coaches wanted the team to lose. The coaches & team are working on different schemes & players without regard to winning or losing the game because the game is meaningless. Right now this team is process oriented instead of results oriented. That will be reversed on 9-11.

After Portis was injured, I noticed the second string players playing with some of the first team which is confusing enough to the players who are used to playing their position without having to worry about their teammates faults. I'm not convinced that Al Saunders has opened up a 700 page playbook that consists of all the running plays are up the middle, with no pitch-outs, reverses, hitch plays or half-back options. With all of the weapons we have, I can't wait until Sept.11.

Re: Hope this helps

True. I also have to remember our featured pitch-out last year that EASILY went for 8-10 yards EVERY time we ran it. I think we ran it weak-side and it seemed Portis faked people out EVERY TIME.

The NFC East this year is one dark and tiny closet with four crazy closterphobic, WWF sized monsters trying to fight to get out. NO ONE HAS ADVANTAGES HERE. It's basically trying to sleep with one eye open...

Nah, I don't think the coaches wanted us to lose, but they don't seem to want to show anything. I was unconcerned initially, but the 41-0 "raping" did put a little fear in my heart. After hearing Saunders mention that this was a process, my fears were alleviated. You don't criticize a meal before you taste it, and Saunders has cooked up some pretty tasty offenses over the years. I think we'll all get full off Redskins highlights this year.
