King pokes at 'Skins
What else is new?
5. I think Trung Canidate, Dave Fiore and Jeremiah Trotter sure made the difference for those Redskins, didn't they?
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2004/writers/peter_king/06/07/king.mmqb/ |
yes, they did make differences, just not all in a good way
|
its easy to make fun of us, by the way, this is stupid, but does anyone know where i can look at the roster? Redskins.com only gives you half of it, its pissing me off
|
Trung essentially cost us nothing, true we gave up a 4th round pick for him but I don't think it was that big a deal.
And too bad we didn't have Peter King, who apparently must think he's a psychic, to let us know that Trotter would go from a Pro-Bowl linebacker to suffering a debilitating knee injury when he signed with us Then again, Peter King knows more than us. LOL |

half of it? what do you mean, I think I see the whole roster http://www.redskins.com/team/ |
Espn should have a roster also...
|
As usual, King is a real classy guy. I didn't notice any comment about how Coles, Morton, or Hall had worked out - just the negative ones as usual. He does real well with his prognostications... AFTER the fact. LOL!! When he makes PROJECTIONS, they usually stink. He should not be criticizing others for theirs. Wonder what he projects for Brunell, Portis, Barrow, Washington, Rasby, or Springs. He will let us know after the season, I'm sure.
:vomit-smi |
Yeah I clicked on your link again Smoot, and I only see down to Norman Heuer
|
smoot is a beast
|
Bergman,
I've noticed that redskins.com doesn't like mozilla-based browsers. All the articles seem to get cut in half. If I use IE, however, I can scroll down and see the rest of the articles. I imagine you are experiencing the same issue with the roster. --Phin |
Maybe that's the problem, Mozilla
|
mozilla is the best browser though, hands down
using IE is like drinking water from africas mud puddles |
yeah i use mozilla, its all good though espn worked, thanks
|
mozilla is the best browser though, hands down

They made a huge difference, GIBB'S is back isn't he!

Check out King's response to this email:
UH-OH. THIS GUY'S MAD ABOUT MY REDSKINS VIEWS. From Ben Kreider of Mount Joy, Pa.: "You wrote, 'I think Trung Canidate, Dave Fiore and Jeremiah Trotter sure made the difference for those Redskins, didn't they?' You bastard. Just once, only once, please, with sugar on top, say something nice about my 'Skins. Something optimistic. And don't take the easy way out and say that Joe Gibbs was a great hire. You owe us for the bad info on Sean Taylor. By the way, except for your usually harsh (and all too often accurate) rips on the Redskins, I very much enjoy your column. I just was honorably discharged from the Navy, and during my five years overseas, you helped make my Tuesday mornings (time difference) brighter with football, Sopranos and, even softball updates. Thank you.'' Ben, I will say this. Dan Snyder sure has some nice suits. Hey, I happen to think they overspent on some players not worth the money. But I also believe that, in his three or four years back running the ship, Gibbs will figure out how to win with this team -- he's too smart not to -- and add another Super Bowl title to his collection. Is that sugary enough? I really think that, by the way.
also in the same article, some reluctant praise
With that in mind, I'm sure you can guess that the team that most impressed me this offseason was not the franchise that spent with abandon. Washington has improved its team, probably a lot. But I'm not a fan of gigantic bonuses ($8 million) to pretty good players (Cornelius Griffin), which is how Washington has done business in the Dan Snyder Era. We'll see if it works this year with Joe Gibbs, a better coach than Snyder's ever had.
|
That King is a huge NE fan shows in most of his writings. NE has been successful using their style, but I'll take Portis over Dillon every day of the week. End of the day, the Skins will succeed more because of Gibbs than any one player. He's always been able to make the team play greater than the sum of its parts, with better players he'll just make a better team. If the Danny wasn't out handing out $8 mil signing bonuses he wouldn't know what to do with himself, so I'll grudgingly take an owner willing to spend over the alternative.

That's me that King is replying to... Anyway, thought you guys would enjoy that. I'm surprised he replied to it...
|
This guy seems like an ass. He was kinda mean to u man
|
Candidate and Fiore wernt brought in as big money players that were going ot make a huge difference, but he talks about them that way. Does he mention of Hugh Douglas was a big money bust, or Peerless Price? Its easy to bash on teh Skins because they make a lot of moves. They have had big player busts, Trotter was one of them. But why even mention Candidate, we paid him a million bucks.

Nice post Canes! I completely agree
|
everyone is out to get the skins
