Stop The Negative
I know 2-3 isn't great.. and I know we have issues to overcome... but we DO have the talent and we do have smart coaches. All we need is fans that believe and trust... I do!!! Trust in the Skins. Give them the 12th man this weekend. It's time to ROCK and make this season REAL!!!!!!!!!

Re: Stop The Negative
i hear ya. Its a little bit rediculous that people go crazy after one loss. If we lose this week, then it's time to push the panic button because we should crush the titans. SHOULD doesnt equal victory though. Anyway...good point, im with u

Re: Stop The Negative
Expectations were pretty high this year. With the big win over the Jaguars, I think most people looked at Week 5 as the pivotal spot that would either keep us in the middle of the pack or worse if we lost, or propelled us to the upper echelon if we had won.
Going into the Meadowlands, a place where we have had trouble in the past, and getting a divisional win on the road would have been HUGE. Knowing the success we had last year, bringing in and signing the players we all knew we had to have, (wideouts and a defensive end) -- all of this pointed to the Redskins taking the next step towards a championship. A true playoff contender would have marched in Giants Stadium and come out on top. This loss took the wind out of a lot of sails. |
Re: Stop The Negative
The Eagles are 4-1 with less talent than we have.
I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to just blindly accept it. |

I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to just blindly accept it.
Less talent? I don't know. They have the better quarterback, adequate receivers, a good enough line, and they have a tremendous lineup on defense. I'd say on paper, the Skins and Eagles are about even. On the field though ... |
Re: Stop The Negative
Campbell is MUCH better than McNabb.
Our WR's are far better than their WR's. Our D is better than their D. ST's may be a push. Just make the change to Campbell and all will be right with the world. |

Their D has 23 sacks -- we have 7. They have Lito Sheppard -- we have Carlos Rogers. They have Donovan McNabb -- we have Mark Brunell, until both of his legs get broken, then Gibbs MIGHT pull him in favor of Todd Collins. Campbell could be better than McNabb in the year 2009, but that's just speculation. Portis and Moss are better than Westbrook and Stallworth/Reggie Brown/Greg Lewis, I'll give you that. But right now, those guys have amounted to a 4-1 record to our 2-3. Right now, it's not even close -- the Eagles, until proven otherwise are the class of the NFC East. |
Re: Stop The Negative
This team confuses me and nobody has explained to us fans what the heck is really going on, but I'm all for the good vibes. We can still make things interesting that's for sure!

Re: Stop The Negative
This time last year we were 3-2.. and then worse.. let me remind you of what we can do:

Re: Stop The Negative
The Eagles haven't played JACK... nothing REAL in my opinion. And I hate how people say "considering the success we had last year" UM, we were out of it as far as most of you were concerned, yet we made it back. I can only hope our players read this threads and hope that some of us still believe and stand behind them. And NOTE: Springs just might be BACK this weekend! Woooooooooo Hooooooooooooooooooo!

You guys blow. We have the same defense.. it's just in an upset without Springs. HOWEVER, if Springs returns.. as he did in practice today... I have a STONG feeling I'll be feeding you all some CROW for Thanksgiving! |

Well, the pass rush is about the same -- nonexistant, even with the addition of Andre Carter. Right now, I'd take Ryan Clark and Walt Harris over Archuleta and Kenny Wright. There's two more differences. Griffin, Salave'a and Springs are all a year older, with injuries becoming more commonplace. Marcus Washinton has been far from a disruptive playmaker, Holdman and Marshall are just sorta ... there. So, no. It's not the same defense. This one hasn't stopped anybody but the Texans. |

They beat down Dallas who pummelled us and if they had punted on 4-1 they woudl have beaten the G-men who manhandled us. The Eagles are clearly superior to the Skins at the moment. |
Re: Stop The Negative
These dipshits will never eat crow. Their job is to hijack every thread into a tirade against Brunell (in addition to hijacking "positive" threads and turning them "negative"). When Brunell sets a record they say it meant nothing. When he has a good game they (mostly) shut up. I only saw one that said he did a good job that day. They can't even shut up on a thread that says "Stop the Negative". You would think that there would be some thread title where the guys who are the "downers" would exclude themselves. Unfortunately, they don't seem to get it. When I look at the Warpath page, 25 threads come up. How many can I read that the d*ldoheads haven't taken over? If he had 500 yds/game for the rest of the year, there would be 1 of 2 options: (1) They won all the games. In this case they would complement other people and not make mention of Brunell. (2) They lose some games. When this happens they would say it was all YAC so his numbers don't mean anything. And one of them has a name that makes me convinced that Patrick Ramsey is on this board.
So if Brunell were able to get 500 yds/game, I would bet that no more than 5 members would admit their mistake. And in the meantime, I'm willing to bet they'll hijack all the threads that they can. As far as Springs goes, the impact should be just as large as CP on offense. Now everybody's out of position. Afterwards they should be playing in their comfort zone and should regain their swagger. A couple more weeks of the new offensive system so they can carry it off in "enemy territory" and they should be good.
You guys blow. We have the same defense.. it's just in an upset without Springs. HOWEVER, if Springs returns.. as he did in practice today... "Look what we did last year!" "Last year we did this!" "Last year we did that!" "Well, what about last year?" Last year gets you JACK.
I compare last year to one of those games where you are losing 17-3 and you are thinking, they could still come back, and then they do. Amazing! The point is that you can't count on doing that every week, because normally you lose those games. Last year was an incredible run, but I'm really not comfortable being in that position for the second year in a row. Remember, we were one less kickoff return in arizona away from making that run, plus the eagles imploded in the second half of the final game, saving our necks. This was supposed to be the year that we didn't stress about making the playoffs, and instead focused on taking the next step. Right now I'd take 10-6 and a wildcard spot in a heartbeat. |
Re: Stop The Negative
stop holding your breath on campbell....thats not going to happen unless brunell gets hurt. campbell is better than mcnabb...thats a laugh right there. campbell hasnt proved sh*t. switching qbs isnt the answer. the answer is learn how to play defense.

They can look back on last year and know that it can be done. |

It will take some time for us to gel like that. Hopefully we won't follow the same track record and change systems again anytime soon. |

You can only break 250 yards three times a season. Hell, even 400 yards is a fairy tale for you. But don't worry buddy. Even though your production has become as erratic as your old pal Patrick Ramsey, the majority of this forum will still support you because Coach Gibbs loves you.:laughing2 |
