The Season Is Over
Another wasted year, with over paid free agents. All the teams that traded with the Redskins and got draft choices, are happy as hell. There draft choices should be within the top 10. If we are lucky, if not top 3 or 4. Here's what I say. Let Joe Gibbs coach and get a real general manager. One like Bobby Bethard. Then, lets begin to build through the draft.

Re: The Season Is Over
This season is unquestionably over. Does anyone actually think we can go 8-2 the rest of the season with the schedule we have?
|
Re: The Season Is Over
If we start Campbell we have a chance, if we start Brunell at Indy we're done.
|
Re: The Season Is Over
zero percent chance.
|
Re: The Season Is Over
no point not to put in campbell now.
|
Re: The Season Is Over
I seroiusly dont see another winnable game on the schedule.
By that I mean one we'd be favored in....seriously. We may go 2-14. |
Re: The Season Is Over
i think if we can recover to go 8-8 that would be nearly a miracle with this scheduel...
|
Re: The Season Is Over
GODDAMN IT!
does any one know where mark brunell lives? |
Re: The Season Is Over
The schedule is too rough from here on out for us to make the playoffs. These first few weeks were supposed to be the easy part of the schedule, and coming out of it 2-4, most likely 2-5 after next week, it's gonna be too tough for us to recoup and finish with a winning record.

Okay man, when they make the playoffs you can throw this thread in our face.

In what? |
Re: The Season Is Over
With the defense playing the way it is now, no, we can't turn it around. Henry ran at will today, that's inexcusable.

Take off the homer glasses son, anyone that's not wearing them will realize that we don't have much of shot of making the playoffs anymore. And if we don't make the playoffs, we don't get a shot to play in the Super Bowl. And the Super Bowl is what every team in the NFL is trying to get to. You can go ahead and feel fine that we're 2-4, but nobody else is happy with the way we've played so far. |

Exactly! It doesn't matter that Griffen and Salave'a were out cause they played last week and Tiki murdered the D. They look horrible. It can't be all them missing Springs. I don't really know what the hell it is anymore. The defense looks horrid and that whole team needs a spark. A spark on offense and a spark on defense. I don't know who can give it to them, but I know they won't get it from Brunell on offense, so there's no point in leaving him in. The D needs some better linebackers and the defensive tackles back. They miss Griffen bad, but they still should have won this game today. |

Re: The Season Is Over
Just got back from the game....
I want to make someone a scapegoat really really bad, but the entire team front to back was awful. Flashes of brilliance on offense followed by the worst defensive outing I've seen in a long time. Some questionable calls throughout the game... but I didn't see it on TV (was the ARE fumble call correct?) Crowd was great, but Brunell got the boo birds like crazy. We need to get hungry on defense or this season is going to be very very boring. Anything can happen after the bye week... |

There is actually a big difference between having confidence and having false hope. I guess some of us just see past having false hope. |
Re: The Season Is Over
where is the maybe option?
|
Re: The Season Is Over
The season isn't over, but there needs to be a serious turn around, bigger than the one we had last year.
|
Re: The Season Is Over
run defense is lvp today... they were letting henry look like larry johnson. i also think the titans really outcoached the skins today... before young was hobbled, i think they really kept our defense on its heels with some of the misdirection and boots.
indy's gonna be well rested and at home next week. not looking good at all. |
Re: The Season Is Over
Matty 2 u honestly think this team can turn things around like last year? There is 2 much inconsistency across the board on this team as usual from owner 2 albright

The calls were correct, and our team deserved to lose. I'd love to see Gibbs send a message with personnel changes, particulary on defense. Let's get Rocky McIntosh out there for Warrick (2 tackles) Holdman. When Springs comes back, I'd move Carlos Rogers back to the bench - the guy is killing us and desperately needs a wake-up call. |

rogers is a #2 corner at best

With a coaching staff comprising 4 former defensive coordinators on D, and 3 former headcoaches on Offense, there is NOOOOOOOOOOO way we should be getting outcoached. I can understand losing because our players aren't executing. But outcoached? Wow. Makes you wonder what the hell is going on!!! Are egos getting in the way here? Buges vs Saunders? Jerry Gray vs Blache? etc. etc. |

No faith in execution probably led to some wack ass calls. It's impossible to win with great coaching and pisspoor players and vice verca. I'd like to think its because of lack of faith and not a major coaching problem. |

i agree with this make personell changes rocky needs to come in,and rogers needs to be a number 2 guy but andre carter needs to go to lb, to weak to be up front |
Re: The Season Is Over
The question says can we. The answer to that is undoubtably yes. Will we? I'm more optimistic then the average fan (I watched a Raider loss last year at FedEx), but I question whether or not this team has what it takes. Defensively its nothing but problems right now.
I no longer believe that the Indy game has any significance. I almost dont care if we win or lose next week. I thought it was going to be a statement game, but now, not really. The key to this season is to get really hot after the bye week. And it starts with Dallas. Which means we need Brunell through that game. 3-4 or 2-5. What's the difference? We were 5-6 last year. We could be better than that this year 11 games in. 11-5 is still doable. But over the next two weeks, Gregg Willams has to get his unit playing like the team of 2004 and 2005. He's had 6 weeks to show improvement and has yet to do so. Put me down as very cautiously optimistic right now. |
Re: The Season Is Over
Where the Hell is James Posey? I thought that he would be an impact player seein is how he played for GW and JG in Buffalo. I guess he is being used bout as much as TJ Duckett. HAIL from Nashville!

I didn't know James Posey was on the team. I know there's this guy named Jeff Posey, and he's a backup to Marcus Washington, who is essentially the best linebacker on our team, so that means Jeff Posey isn't gonna get much pt unless Marcus was to get injured. |
If we start Campbell we have a chance, if we start Brunell at Indy we're done.
Are you fucking kidding me? What makes you think Jason Campbell would do any better when the time of possession is almost 2 to 1 in the other teams favor???????? Do I think Campbell should play, yes, but to think he could go 8-2 when our defense can't stop anyone and our team has ZERO heart is just a dream. |
Re: The Season Is Over
If we start Campbell we have a chance, if we start Brunell at Indy we're done.
Well. we're done because no way will JG bench Brunell because he's not convinced the problem with this offense is Brunell. He will stick with this guy until he's no longer able to walk. JG may be damaging his great reputation with the fans if he continues to support Brunell and he continues to loose games as a result of it. |
Re: The Season Is Over
This same question was posed last year after we dropped 3 straight to fall and 6, and the overwhelming majority of people, myself included, said no freaking way we can rattle off 5 straight to make the playoffs. Remembering that, I am reluctant to make any absolute proclamations this early in the season. Every year at least one team starts of bad than rattles of a bunch in a row to roll into the playoffs.
Last year, however, there was at least some room for optimism, since we had controlled all 3 of those losses for 3 quarters, only to implode in the fourth and choke the games away. You could see, however, that we were very close to being a good team. We got some breaks in Arizon, than rattle of 3 straight dominating performances. This year, all we have to hang our hats on is that we are good on paper. At best we have been terribly inconsistent, but we have already been dominated twice on the road, while losing to two mediocre teams at home. What's worse is that the defense, which has kept us in games over the Gibbs II tenure we had no business being in, appears to have problems that go far beyond who is playing number 1 CB. Hey, a lot can happen, but you would have to be seriously insane to bet on the Skins right now. |
Re: The Season Is Over
My Bad. Jeff Posey. Didn't know he played SLB. Thanks for the info! HAIL from Nashville!

At least the team remembered their helmets and equipment. Has anyone seen the movie "PURE LUCK" with D.Glover/M.Short??? Is Ethan Albright the real portayal of this? Why has God forsaken the Skins? What did they do? Maybe Snyder bought the team with Bloodmoney, I dunno. |
