We Need Our Free Agents to Kicking Ass
Its time for Randel El, Andre Carter, Brandon Loyd, and Archuletta(when he's not on the bech) to make a big plays. Go free agents. We need them to step up and play like we payed them to play.

Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
I have to agree as of half time they are doing well.
|

exactly. no use in arguing over it. the team still sucks regardless |
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
yep.....
|
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
yeah, they sure kicked ass all right... :/ maybe next time they'll figure out it's not their own asses they should be kicking.
El did okay, sean taylor did okay, everyone else was forgettable. |
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
why dont they use randl el more? the guys a playmaker, and usually something good happens when he gets the ball
|
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
notice how i said the guy? and not that guy
|
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
that guys a playmaker too -- an MVP actually ;)
|
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
Brandon Lloyd really does catch 99% of the stuff thrown his way. We're all mad, but did we really expect anything less?

Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
This week against Dallas our free agents have no excuses, Springs and Rogers are out there. Archulleta should be able to blitz and play the run. Without Santana playing, loyd and Randal should have plenty of opurtunities.

Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
el has sorta stepped up, lloyd has made a couple decent catches, but he spent a lot of time on invisibility duty in SF, and he hasn't changed that here :(.
here's hoping though. |

here's hoping though.[/quote] i semi agree, but by playing wide reciever, the only way to contribute( other than blocking) is to have the quarterback throw you the ball. lloyd has caught the passes that have come his way. and i love randle el. when he touches the ball, he makes plays |

Probably because he is an average receiver. He is good in space but it doesn't seem like he is the best at getting open. I love him on kick returns. |
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
I think that Randel is more than average. I also think Archuletta will have at least one sack, along Carter. Furthermore, I think Loyd will have a breakout game, because moss is out.

His past numbers would say average to mediocre (I will ignore the current numbers because he doesn't have a guy who can throw between the numbers). |

they are going to have to fight cooley. because with no moss i am sure brunell will only look for one target on the field and its cooley. brunell doesnt have the time to look elsewhere. he locks onto one man and if hes not open he dumps it to the back. not sure if thats the scheme or what. but it seems brunell has "moss blinders" if santana isnt open its a dump off..what the hell are we going to do this week? |
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
man, i hope your wrong. i wonder if brunell did the same thing at Jacksonville? maybe thats why everyone knows who jimmy smith is

He used to hit McCardell pretty regularly but Smith was the "go-to" guy. |
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
I think ARE's impact on punt returns was very understated today... he put our offense in decent field position nearly every time he returned it... 15-25 yard returns are more than average. For the first time in years, I feel good about our punt returner...
|
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
you can't do much better than El on punts. it's cool not having to worry about fumbles and bobbles every time though.
|
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
cartwright had some nice ST plays today, too... between decent returns and making that tackle at the 16
|
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
ARE is definately a great pickup. I always look forward to the punt returns and he provides the team with a special intangible that can't be judged with mere references to stats.
|
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
Well our free agents did not do all that great, but they are getting better. I still hope that Archuletta can find a way to be valuable to us. He can start by sacking McNabb. I was impressed by Randel El and Brandon Loyd seems to at least catch the ball when it is thrown to him.
|
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
I think that Lloyd had a great game against Dallas.
|
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
If it wasn't for the phantom holding call and the PI on RW, he finishes with well over a hundred yards and a touchdown.
|
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
yeah, lloyds looked good in spots... his blocking has really stood out too. He does go invisible at times though, while El has a way of making his presence known. i'm still not sure we needed both (patten can still play a bit), but it does give us great depth.
with the contract structure they're really cheap for 3 years, and then they start counting something like 5mill a year, which will suck. |
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
And I think the passion is there as well. All the SF fans think he dropped balls on purpose, and didn't have passion for the game. But I remember one point on the sideline, after Novak missed the first field goal, you could see Lloyd and ARE right kneeling right next to each other. You could see the look of disappointment on their faces, and it seems like Lloyd had the face of "I wish I could do something to help us win", and ARE was like "It's all good playa, you tried your best."
Althought Lloyd may not have the best numbers this season, what he did in the Dallas game was crucial. |
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
Hey, lets not forget that Troy Vincent was a free agent aquasition. I also think that although Carter had no recorded sacks, he had a decent game.
|
Re: Free Agents Kicking Ass
carter's gotten better for sure, but he's still not good, and he's still not playing up to his contract...

maybe you missed the update, but they're 3-5 and completely gave away 2 of those games. if we just wanted to say, "see how awesoem the skins are" and never disagree... well, we wouldn't need a board for that, now would we? |
