Romo replacing Bledsoe

Romo replaced Bledsoe second half, ahahaa and he threw a pick.

At least they're taking a chance with their "QB of the future". Now they know he sucks (although he just led a TD drive to Owens). When will we know where JC stands?

lol - repeating that isn't going to make it true.

Plus, I'm talking about putting JC in at the end of the game yesterday, when, even if you were right, which I don't think you are, would make no difference to the season. I'm also talking about the next game, when the season is all but over. I know, we pulled it out last year, but that was a very different team.

Why would Dallas piss away their season like that? They would have led the division if they won that game.

Dallas wanted the backup and they sure got him. Nice INT returned for a TD. ;) He really gave them a spark.

I think I heard a collective orgasm of Dallas nation when Romo went in. It'll be similar for us when Campbell goes in, but at least Bledsoe was scoring points.

Re: Romo replacing Bledsoe

This is a great way for BP to get Bledsoe's attention.

You think Jerry Jones coming out of box and down on the sidelines 1/2 through the 2nd quarter had anything to due with Bledsoe getting yanked?

MTK 10-24-2006 09:22 AM

Re: Romo replacing Bledsoe

I don't think Jones had anything to do with it.

He's always roaming the sidelines at some point during games.

It'll take some time. Romo wasn't built in a day. I've been waiting all season to say that! ;)

Seriously though, so I've been hearing that Bledsoe may retire rather than play back-up. Anyone from Texas that can confirm?

How sad is it that "Brunell is vastly outplaying Bledsoe," yet Brunell has led us to one fewer win and two more losses than Bledsoe.

The difference is the Dallas D. They've at least shown up this year at times, we've been flat from the word go.

3 picks isn't going to keep him in the lineup for long.

Yeah, Dallas' defense is slightly more consistant than Washington's. If they fall behind however, they're basically in the same boat. Bledsoe isn't going to be able to bring them back from behind, and he'll usually throw a pick trying to do it.

Romo executed the same play Bledsoe did. Its the hit the "defensive back in the flats" play. Its a guarenteed touchdown everytime. :goodjob:

Pretty decent? 3 INT's isn't too great. If Brunell had thrown 3 INT's this website would probably crash due to all the bitching and moaning.

I hope that people don't think that JC would have done any better in a similar situation, he is about as proven as Romo at this point. Maybe less so.

Two of those INTs were on batted balls, and the third was after like 12 pass plays in a row during their final drive. I'm not saying it wasn't his fault, but these are the rookie mistakes (i.e., getting balls batted and throwing INTs when you are trying to come from behind) that happen to pretty much all rookie QBs.

Colin Cowherd has devoted his show.............maybe his life to the "Cowboy Meltdown". he is having a party with Bill, Jerra', Romo, etc. check out the statement (in the link) that Bledsoe makes to the media. Who thought the Boys would belly up without TO in the middle of it?

Lose with Collins?

I hope we can win with JC, but it's going to take a few games to get his feet wet. If the D picks up, then it's more likely we'll win those transitional games.

Re: Romo replacing Bledsoe

you mean winning? yeah i'm aware of it, but with our defense the way it is, and Mark playing like he's playing i have higher hopes on Campbell getting us some points.

Re: Romo replacing Bledsoe

I would rather find out what Jason Campbell can do. I've seen enough of Brunnel and I'm tired of Dr. Dumpingstein. I would rather see Campbell go through the growing process than see a totally pathetic excuse for a quarterback who can't throw the ball 20 yards downfield. I'm such a diehard fan, I continue to watch despite hating every minute of it.

Re: Romo replacing Bledsoe

Not a good feeling today.

As to Bledsoe, I think he will retire rather than serve out the season as a backup.

I think there is no way he starts again this year barring injury.

Romo took a few snaps with the first team this week in practice and Terry Glenn said some people were told to get ready - for a QB change - just in case.

Romo looked good in stretches and really idiotic in others. He has been around for four years so he really needs to look a little better than a three int performance - ok two tipped but the third was horrid. Horrid!!

The team did get a spark from the change. I imagine the same from Washington if Brunell gets pulled.

We will see if Romo can behave like a QB next week, cause I don't think there is anyway that Bledsoe starts.

Brunell can still scramble and pass accurately. Bledsoe is like a giant statue, a colorblind statue.

Brunell = 90.4 QB rating (ranked 11th in NFL), 7TDs, 3 INTs, 1465 yards
Bledsoe = 69.2 QB rating (ranked 28th in NFL), 7 TDs, 8 INTs, 1164 yards, 1 lost fumble

Care to repeat what you said before? Both QBs have the same number of TD passes...only Bledsoe has 5 more picks and a lost fumble. The two can't be compared. Brunell is playing well. Bledsoe was one of the WORST QBs in the NFL.

Brunell is not a problem for the Skins. He's doing everything Saunders has asked him to and is playing well. However, the major problem is Saunders' playcalling...constant screens and dump-off passes for a few yards. Brunell proves he can still throw deep (68 yards to Moss against Jags, 52 yards to Lloyd against Titans) when ASKED to. They're not asking him though. Even in the ugly Colts game this week, Brunell was scrambling out of trouble a LOT, saving big losses and even turning them into nice passes to Cooley. He can still play...they're just not asking him too.

The Skins MAIN problem is their defense, it's been decimated by injuries this year.

I wouldn't complain if we started the Campbell era this year, but it wouldn't be because Brunell hasn't performed. If they make the change and keep the crappy playcalling, Campbell won't help the Skins win any more than Brunell.

I can't understand what happened to Al Saunders' "amazing" offensive schemes from the Chiefs. It's like he forgot to bring his playbook from his old office.

Honestly...the Raiders should try to make a deal for Drew. He'd actually be an upgrade. Andrew Walter has the same number of picks as Bledsoe, but in fewer games. That's the only team Bledsoe could start for in the NFL...anywhere else, he'll be a backup or even a 3rd-stringer. Now 2 of his three teams have given up on him...if this Romo experiment is for the rest of the season.

That's a "totally pathetic" statement. If Brunell was choosing the plays to run, you might have a point.
