The LeBrons
Am I the only one that scratches their head in wonder at these commercials?
I feel like the people that came up with these ideas were either really high or just nuts. Especially the one with the dude jumping off the diving board, I'm always just like HUH? |
Re: The LeBrons
i just dont wnat to see 1 lebron, let alone multiple ones. i hate the guy
|
Re: The LeBrons
Yeah, it doesn't make a DAMN bit of sense. Kind of reminds me of the people who created that show Wonder Showzen.
|
Re: The LeBrons
Honestly, I like em. They're a bit odd, but I like them.
Don't be mad Big C. LeBron will be remembered as the best of all time. He's a bit media hyped, and gets far too many calls. But still very young and very amazing. |
Re: The LeBrons
I hate them bc they dont make sense. My hatred for LeBron even makes it worst.

LeBron still isn't clutch, he won't win as many rings, he can't play D, and his outside shot won't be as good. He will be better at driving, that is it. |
Re: The LeBrons
It is pretty funny that they all bitch about getting fouled in the one commerical though. It's very true to life. But, they should travel more.

Re: The LeBrons
i thought they were kinda funny at first, but after seeing it for the 28792378923792873rd time it does wear out a bit...

I knew someone would say they liked them. Figures it's Daseal. ;)

Talking about seeing a commercial for the 28792378923792873rd time, if I hear that damn 'this is my country' song again I swear I'm going to toss my TV across the room. |
Re: The LeBrons
yeah, i didnt realize our country only consisted of blue collar workers, farms, and a flooded new orleans
|
Re: The LeBrons
I don't understand marketing campaigns any more. Are the Lebrons supposed to make me want to buy Nikes? I mean at least the old Jordan commercials we're like "It has to be the shoes". You know, they sorta hyped the shoe. Now these campaigns are just odd. They basically have nothing to do with the shoe. Weird concept.
He're's that meeting. "Let's spend millions to hire a guy to promote our shoe except he wont really promtote it as much as just make overly produced commercials that have nothing to do with the shoe. That will surely make people buy our shoe. That is if they are smart enough to understand that by being in a Nike commercial (one not really about the shoes) we are implying that the shoe is good (without ever having even remotely inferred that) because Lebron is good and now my head will explode." |
Re: The LeBrons
why do so many on this board hate lebron? do you have the same hatred for Jordan? its pretty much the same marketing blitz. and don't tell me its because Jordan won so much because it took Jordan 7 seasons until he won something. i actually like lebron, thinking he is a breath of fresh air among all the thugs in the NBA
|
Re: The LeBrons
guess started that... jeans, cars, OS/2... those are the first commercials i remember that didn't bother mentioning what they were trying to sell.

maybe they live in washington and have been on the wrong end of about 4,000 non-calls for travelling. |
Re: The LeBrons
I liked the old ones where they danced to super freak. The new ones are just weird.

why do we hate lebron? because the refs in this league treat him like hes been there for 15 years and is a hall of famer. the traveling he gets away with, the push offs, and when he doesnt get his call, he crys like a little bitch. that and the fact that every news source thinks hes a god |
Re: The LeBrons
I like the commercials, mainly due to the fact that LeBron does a decent job representing the four characters. Considering he's just a 20 year old athlete, he's a pretty good actor. I don't watch a ton of tv so I'm fortunate not to have to watch it 194232673248249343 times.
I agree with Big C that he does get away with quite a bit but so did Jordan and any other superstar player at the time that made the game exciting to watch. |
Re: The LeBrons
jordan earned his respect, lebron is 21 years old and hasnt proven anything
|
Re: The LeBrons
he is a pretty good actor i must say

yeah, for an athlete, he's pretty good. i wish he did less acting on the court though. |
Re: The LeBrons
he seem like the biggest jerk in the world. IMO

1. Jordan 2. Chamberlain 3. Russell 4. Bird 5. Magic Johnson 6. Dr. J. 7. Havlichek 8. Jerry West 9. Kareem 10. The highest Lebron COULD be ranked if he has an amazing career Sorry, he's the best NOW, but I don't see him surpassing ANY of the guys I listed. |

Re: The LeBrons
I'm even projecting after the end of his career. Even if he wins a few championships, he'll still fall short of the great players I listed who won a ton of them.
Steve Kerr has won a ton of rings...that alone doesn't make him better than say...Charles Barkley. |
Re: The LeBrons
well, i mean, he could end up averaging 70 points a game or something. it'll never happen, but you can be sure till everything is said and done.
|
Re: The LeBrons
remember last year when he walked up to gil during the playoffs and said dont miss or something. your not allowd to do that.
|
Re: The LeBrons
how many times has lebron takin out the wizards? you guys sound like little school girls crying. i think lebron seems like an alright dude
|
Re: The LeBrons
he's probably cool as sh*t if you know him, but if you dont i bet he is an ass

Time out (said with "business Lebron's" voice). You can't have a top 10 list of greatest NBA players without mentioning Oscar Robertson, the only man ever to average a triple-double for a full season |

definitely since the guy had 181 freakin triple doubles and Magic has to be above Bird. Magic just was so versatile playing every single position on the floor and was second only to Robertson in triple doubles with 138 for his career. I think Lebron is pretty good, but the hype is underserving for someone who hasn't achieved much professionally to warrant said hype. I still think the best player in the league is either Kobe or Duncan and Wade is another option as well. and as far as the commercials, I don't like them cuz I can't understand what either the old version and the snob version r saying for most of the commercials as well as them not making any sense whatsoever. |
Re: The LeBrons
i think kobe is probably the best player right now... not that i'm a huge nba personnel guy.

You're right! Add him to my list above Dr. J. :) |
