Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
I am thrilled about Gibbs' decision to start Jason Campbell at Tampa Bay this Sunday, but I don't see it going well for Campbell. It will be his first game, he'll be without Clinton Portis, and our defense is awful.
I predict Campbell's stats as follows: 13/24, 190 yards, 1 TD, 2 INTs. The offense will rack up 175 passing yards and 140 rushing yards. The team will squeak out a narrow victory of 17-14, but not because of Jason Campbell. |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
Campbell shows us why he should have been the QB from the start.
We win, we win BIG. |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
Campbell blows up and we beat the living shit out of TB for the game they stole from us last year. You think we forget that shit you bunch of punk asses? Eff everybody in TB. WHOOOOOAAAAAAA!!!!! Go JC !!!!!
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
12/20, 188 yds, TD, INT. We'll rush the ball an awful lot, JC will make a couple nice runs out of the pocket.
If nothing else....should be fun to watch. |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
45-17 Washington Redskins!!!!
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
Sup SBF?
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
Campbell goes 14/24, 1 passing TD, 1 rushing TD, 1 pick, 1 fumble, 190 passing yards, and 45 rushing yards.
This is only so high because Tampa has absolutely no film on the kid. That and I feel Campbell will do a far better job of spreading the ball around, allowing more receivers to make plays and keeping the defense honest. So our offense should be able to suprise them. Of course, he could crash and burn. Either way, patience is the key with a young QB. Duckett will get more carries than betts and have a big day. |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
He will have an okay game, but will be picked twice, fumble once, have one TD pass and one long bomb of 45 yards. Other than that...he'll be running for his life all day and completing short passes.

Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
My prediction is the TB safties won't be able to take the day off.
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
Campbell prediction = a win. I'm not interested in what his stat line is I want to see how the team plays as a whole with a new guy under center.
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
nfl record 954 passing yards/game
nfl record 17 td passes/game nfl record for qb rushing 750 yards/game so yea i have pretty high standards for jc!!! |

No way! Bucs on a short week. |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
Campbell's Tampa stat line will be:
12-20 161 0 1 He will rush for 24 yards. He will NOT fumble. |

That was our achillies heel, and we certainly haven't done anything to fix it.
And different certainly doesn't mean better in anyway, just more conservative. If Al opens up the offense, I'll gladly eat some crow. Defense should at least look good because TB has no offense. |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
15/29 247 3TD 1INT 36yds rushing
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
this is the perfect game for campbell to debut, against a pretty poor team, with not too much pressure as what it could have been. i think he will pass for 220 2 td and 1 int, 15 rushing yards

You think he'll put up 3 measley points? We'll I guess that's better than our offense last week, which netted -4 points. |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
You know what, I know Campbell is going to be taking his first snaps in the NFL but at the same time I'm expecting him to play well, or at least show some serious flashes of competence.
If he totally stinks I'm going to be worried. He's had a season and a half to sit and learn, I don't think it's totally unrealstic to expect him to be able to come in and at least look the part of a starting NFL QB. We've all heard the book on him, good arm, good feet, smart kid, I definitely want to see some of that right away. Does anyone else agree? Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting him to come in and throw for 300 yards and 3 TDs, but I am expecting something a little more than I would from a real rookie QB. |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
It all depends Matty, his college resume seems to say that he can pick things up by seeing not just doing -- but some QBs just need that game time.
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
I hope Matty is right. I think the pressure is on Saunders to come up with a plan that will allow Campbell to gain confidence and make some big plays. I have my doubts about his ability to adapt in that way.
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
doesnt matter how he does agains the bucs.. campbell is in for one hell of a test. eagles, falcons, saints, giants.. talk about being thrown to the dogs.. we need to make some major GM moves to make anything work for next year.

Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
I think he'll show some flashes, but make his share of mistakes as well. In the long run, I think he'll lead us to a win. The guy has been a winner all his life.
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
I've added a poll to this thread. Applies just to Sunday
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
3 td's 1 fumble. JC hits Cooley twice in the redzone and Moss on a bomb........Redskins win 24-17.
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
Our D against Gradkowski. I liiiike.
A chance for them to go crazy if ever they needed one. |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
JC throws for 250 yards, 3td, 2int.
He throws a couple right to the defenders but Lloyd has his first 100 yard game and td and most importantly we win this game! Redskins 27, Bucs 17 |

Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
He will burn up a lot of time and have delay calls.
Fumble the snap a couple times. Call all 3 timeout in the first half prior to the 2 minute warning. He'll settle down by half time and do well the rest of the game and maybe pull out the win. |

Not against the sh-tbird offense that Tampa fields. If Tampa's offense scores 24 points on our defense I might have to kill myself. |

But I hope they let him cut it loose a few times. He can make all the throws. |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
Tampa D has been playing well last couple weeks, and are looking really good on MNF right now. I think Campbell will have a rough time. 1 TD 2INT. Will we get the win? That is the big question, I really have no idea.
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
1:1 or 1.5:1... he's a rookie and will throw into coverage (and sometimes guns short passes in a somewhat odd manner), but his touch on deep balls is crazy good, and his pocket presence/poise is very good too. hopefully the parts around him make it easier and the playcalling works towards team strengths without being too much for him to handle in his first start. TB is a good defense though and he may be asked to pass a LOT.
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
I am slapass happy. I really thought Gibbs is losing his mind. 3-6, who cares now. We just got a huge breath of fresh air. One request: O-line please protect. Now that the future is in play, let us not "Spurrier" him. We all can see where Ramsey is sitting.
Hail 44 |
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
I think he'll have a rougher game, just because the TB defense is no slouch. I'm not going to expect a whole lot since new QBs tend to be tight and throw the ball high a bit. I'm expecting him to hit Lloyd on some deep bombs however since he actually has the arm to get it there.
|
Re: Redskins @ Bucs: Campbell Predictions
JC best be shopping for Rolex's for the O-line right now. unless they do signifigantly better than they have this year, I may have to revise my TD/INT ratio
