Devin Hester
Devin Hester is the freaking man. Ive watched him for years since he was a star at Miami. The guy was going to be a top 5 pick, but then out team sucked and he got hurt. If he stayed another year he would have been a top pick, but his mom needed money so he entered the draft.
The Bears picked him in the 3rd round...and I specifically remember the announcers saying he was a reach, not a good pick, etc. I was so pissed. The guy is tearing it up, is as fast as santana with as good of better moves. Plays corner, wr, running back, whatever. Hes only being used as a returner right now, and still has 4 Tds!! Hes the only person Ive seen run a kickoff back for a touchdown, have it be rekicked because of a penalty, and run it back again. And have a punt return in the same game. |
Re: Devin Hester
yep.
|
Re: Devin Hester
he was one of the reasons why i picked chicago's defense with my 6th pick in fantasy football
|
Re: Devin Hester
Dude is sick! I sure hoped you guys mentioned him as rookie of the year!
|
Re: Devin Hester
Devin Hester, my man!!
Guys is fast and has moves. I dotn know about rookie of the year, but he made plays like Bush did in college, I dont know why he slipped so much in the draft. He could play in the backfield like bush, not as good, but would definitly make an impact |
Re: Devin Hester
Vince Young pretty much has offensive rookie of the year in the bag along with rookie of the year with what he has done so far

Crazy! |
Re: Devin Hester
WOW. AGAIN!!!!
The question will be asked LT(29) or HEster(6), what is more impressive? |
Re: Devin Hester
hester has been stolen from skinsncanes. he now MY man.
thanks all! |
Re: Devin Hester
Dude is averaging over 35 yards per kickoff return!
|
Re: Devin Hester
He's no Rock Cartwright. But seriously, if we had that kinda blocking on punt coverage that the Bears do, Randal El would have more punt return TDs
|
Re: Devin Hester
Random thought: every time I hear Devin Hester's name, I think of the Scarlett Letter ... anyone else?
|
Re: Devin Hester
dont he have 5 td's?
|

Not to take anything from ARE, but D. Hest special. Even more so than Dante Hall. Blocking has obviously played a role, but this guy is simply amazing. |
Re: Devin Hester
he was a real physical corner at the U as well. I was hoping we would've drafted him pretty bad. he's my madden returner lol...
kid is having an amaing rookie season... |

Yes. But 6 isn't out of the question. |

Lol! I was thinking of that as well and was going to post something similar but thought (mostly) no one here would get it. |

you mean 7 isnt out of the question, he had two the other night and is already at six |

Youre crazy, flat out crazy. You know that drill in basketball where you run the wohle way down the court, and touch the line with your hand then run back. Hester could run 100 yards, touch the goal line, turn around, and damn near get back to midfield before rock gets there. Reggie Bush is far better at moving laterally (jumping sideways to get around defenders), but Hester is much much faster and also has good open field moves. |

thanks all![/QUOTE] haha, yea yea...I see how it is. |
Re: Devin Hester
See i didnt really see hester do anything special but run with the ball behind some really superb blocking and let in an Easy TD, I mean Brunnel could runa few back behind that blocking

You know, I saw the first return, and today I saw an article that said he had two TDs in that game (I didn't watch the whole thing). But, I checked NFL.com and it says Chicago only has 5 total ST TDs, so I thought the other one might have come on an INT. I guess NFL.com is a little slow for updates. You have to absolutely give credit to the entire special teams unit -- even their kicker has played lights-out. However, Hester has done something nobody has ever done before. |

I still dont agree. The second one he ran back, they were set up to return an onside kick. He had no lanes setup, everyone was already at mid field. He just found holes and ran faster than everyone. And what about the missed field goal that he ran 108 yards, there were no lanes there, thats not even the normal special teams unit. And the other one he has peopl etrying to tackle him and he kept spinning out of things. Great blocking doesnt get you 6 return tds in a year, otherwise it would have been done before. |
Re: Devin Hester
Another example why players from the U should be on the field! Hey did'nt McIntosh go to Miami? Hmmmmmm.................

Hes also fumbled 4 times and hes lucky he only lost 1 |
Re: Devin Hester
Vasher did the exact same thing last year I think, returning a field goal for a td. All you need is speed to do that, because the field goal kicking unit is all O-lineman who think the play is over.
