They suck. Coaches have sucked, personnel has sucked, and personnel management has sucked. They all sucked. WHAT ARE THEY GOING TO DO? They are in cap hell and they have a bunch of losers they have to get rid of.

We have had a lot of issues. Injuries being a very big issue. Of course not having a viable QB is another. Apparently Gibbs being too conservative in an aggressive NFL era is another issue.
Campbell lost us the game today with his huge, untimely turnovers. But we are to expect this from him right now. I still feel we are just a couple players away from being a super bowl contender.

i hope i don't sound like too much of a sunshine pumper, but i don't think our future looks too bad. we dominated the game today- we lost b/c of key turnovers in the first half... we dominated in TOP, our offense was moving the ball, and our D played pretty well.

it was just a matter of finishing drives for TDs and JC getting more experience.

Hey Carolina has had their entire secondary decimated and they have still been respectable. They have stared our own Christian Morton and he has played well. Another mistake. Anyway, injuries are part of the NFL. We have had allot less than most teams. New England has two new tackles playing with one being a rookie and they are still winning.

The Panthers have lost their last three games. I'd hardly think of that being respectable.

I really agree with Gibbs being too conservative. He has no balls what so ever. Always playing not to lose. I hate to say this becase we are all pissed after another loss. But sometimes it sure would be nice to have a more aggressive coach. Someone from the Belichick/Parcells mold who always plays to win. Calling a timeout to kick the field goal today was a complete joke.

I do feel we're on the right track, just the wrong train right now. You just can't win with a horrible secondary.

our record is pretty horrendous, but compare this offense to two seasons ago... at least we're getting first downs and moving it into the red zone. even last season where we made the playoffs, we stalled moving the ball towards the end of the year.

i see progress with a new offense and a new QB... i saw our O-line absolutely manhandling philly. i see our defense finally getting on track. i see all of this without our best player on the field. this is something that's been coming together the past few weeks, not just today.

we just don't have the W to show for it... but if everyone stays in tact and we do nothing drastic during the offseason, we're all going to be singing a different tune next year. and i say that with confidence.

100% agree! I think Snyder has shown us that even though we spend "recklessly" we are never in cap hell.

I hope you are right,but I don't think it will continue. I will say one thing, I am not a professional and really don't know what the hell I am talking about. It just looks like they have based their philosophies on not making a bunch of stupid moves like they did last year. The cap man probably assumes the players he breaks the bank for will be good for years. I am a MBA and it looks as if they have gone to far. The only way they can make it work is to give players that already suck, longer contracts.

On Football Night in America they were just talking about cap space. They had the Skins at about 1 million under the cap for next year. That's before they restructure and cut guys, though. I guess we'll see. I just hope they get draft picks signed and add a Linebacker/CB/S via free agency. Sign 1 of those and then spend some draft picks on the other 2.

I thought gregg williams was a genius and was elated when we signed him to a 3-yr coaching extension earlier this year, but I must admit I've done an about turn on that front. The pig headed ba$tard has been solely responsible for letting the front office believe that we'd be ok even after letting Pierce, Smoot, and Clark go. Glad he got his comeuppance this year.

With those 3 playing on this defense, we would've been ok, and in the playoff hunt this year. The offense is serviceable. Heck, Brunell at QB would have been fine through this season with those three on defense.

Think about what our defense would've been.
Daniels, Griffin, Salave'A/Goldston, Carter
Washington, Pierce, Lemar
Smoot/Rogers, Springs
Taylor, Clark

I actually have an MBA in Finance. (no joke) And I seriously can't figure out the cap and all it's rules. Isn't the capology book like 111 pages or something like that? Even the pro's have to study it forwards and backwards to get it. Given that you "are a MBA", I'm sure you have not studied this book.

I dont know what people were really expecting this year, but I had a very stark realization earlier this season, when in one of Wilbon's columns he pointed out that the big FA signings and playoff run last year totally conflicted with our approach of sitting Campbell and playing Brunell because "he gave us the best chance to win today".

Once it became apparent that the season was mostly over with, Campbell got the keys to the car, with little pressure, and it's essentially Rebuilding Time. Hell, even Saunders said it would take a full year for this offense to get into sync.

The plain fact is that last year, minus some key big plays, our offense was a disaster, and the defense was keeping us in games. We certainly didn't have a consistent offensive approach that was effective, other than short passes to Santana that he freelanced into long TD's after the catch.

This year with Jason, I'm seeing a lot more to feel good about, it's just that our defense isn't carrying the load it did last year, so it's ALL on the offense's shoulders.

Offense was a disaster last year?? Did you watch the Giants, Cowboys, and Eagles games late in the season last year? Heck, even Ramsey looked good in that game against the Giants. But, to be fair, the offense did stink it up in the playoffs. Anyway, let's hope for a brighter future for this current bunch. Campbell has a lot of promise and the offense continues to improve. Having a healthy Portis next season will do wonders, although Betts has been teriffic lately. Hopefully we'll get Gaines Adams and Nate Clements in the offseason to help improve the defense.

Yeah, and like I said, outside of a few big plays, most of which were prayers that Santana converted into scores, the offense was not that cohesive and consistent.

To be fair, I'm taking the running game for granted here and really talking about moving the ball when we need to / have to, which usually means passing -- but I still submit that last year, we were nowhere near as balanced and reliable as we need to be, and we are taking steps to rectify that now.

Exactly. 14 points off turnovers. Take those away, and we win.

This brings me to another point: JC is too scared of taking a sack. This has probably been discussed already (please excuse me), but he always seems to be throwing the ball while getting spinned around by a defender -- arguably the worst thing a QB can do. Hopefully he improves in this area.
