Re: Dolphins sign McCune off our practice squad
wtf... damnit. I really hoped we wouldve developed him into something special. He had all the physical gifts you could hope for...
|
Re: Dolphins sign McCune off our practice squad
Was hoping to see him someday on the field.
The guy is put together like a tank. Would have enjoyed watching him crush cowgirls, e-gals, and gi-ain'ts, but alas... it was not to be. |
Re: Dolphins sign McCune off our practice squad
watch for mccune. he's not a joke.

I did too, maybe it'll be just a fantasy for them too. |
Re: Dolphins sign McCune off our practice squad
The guy looks like a hulk but looks don't mean much if you can't play.
|
Re: Dolphins sign McCune off our practice squad
Looks like Tarzan, plays like jane.
|
Re: Dolphins sign McCune off our practice squad
Yeah, he mustve been real good never to have made our team even for special teams.
|
Re: Dolphins sign McCune off our practice squad
That sucks - he seemed like a raw talent. I wonder what Miami plans to do with him.
Also, are practice squads just free-for-alls? That is, can any team sign any player off the practice squad?
The guy looks like a hulk but looks don't mean much if you can't play.
Well that goes without saying, since I'm horrible at football. |

Yes; to their 53 man roster. |

But not to their practice squad, right? I can't imagine a player would want to make a lateral move like that, although I guess it's possible if they thought it more likely they would get moved up to the roster on a different team. |
Re: Dolphins sign McCune off our practice squad
never thought hed make it with us to be honest. i mean the guy is already what, 27, and he still isnt on our team yet? seeya, wont miss you

with 4.41 40 speed and all that strenght, you wonder what he couldn't do... I mean, he should've at least been a special teams marvel.... right? you just run real fast and knock the hell outta somebody... give me some crack and I'd be a hall of fame ST'er... |
Re: Dolphins sign McCune off our practice squad
They knew this could happen...if was not on the 53 man roster by now then he probably was not all that close to being in their future plans.

Re: Dolphins sign McCune off our practice squad
The writing seemed to be on the wall back in August
"He's not where we want him," Lindsey said. "Robert turned out to be a good special teams players last year, and if you're a backup linebacker here we expect you to be good in that area. But we expect him to rise this year when he's playing middle linebacker. And right now, I don't see him where we want him, and I'm not taking the blame for that." If he doesn't have the chops, he doesn't have the chops. However, I still don't get why we wouldn't keep him as a ST specialist. It's not like we don't have any of those. |
Re: Dolphins sign McCune off our practice squad
you watch, he will be defensive MVP within 2 years with our luck

WHAT IS GOING ON ANOTHER GOOD LB GONE, I REALLY THOUGHT WE WOULD SEE ALOT OF McCUNE AND ROCKEY NEXT YEAR |
Re: Dolphins sign McCune off our practice squad
He's only "good" because he's no longer a Redskin. Every player who leaves is always glorified for some stupid reason. On the one hand, he's a waste of a pick that we drafted. On the other hand, he's a football god because he's an ex-Redskin.
Oh and welcome to the board goose |

Not to practice squad. That's why I said 53 man roster. ;) |
Re: Dolphins sign McCune off our practice squad
McCune was considered to be a project coming out of college. Undoubtedly scouts fell in love with him because of his physique, but the fact is he's not a polished player and he was old as a rookie to start with. I wouldn't worry about him becoming the next Ray Lewis, he would probably be lucky if he became a solid special teamer in this league.

He made it his business to call out and embarrass LaVar last year, but it wasn't until LaVar broke the lineup that the team became a physical run-stuffing unit during the playoff drive. It was LaVar with a key INT to set up a score against Tampa in the playoffs. It was LaVar who KO'ed Shawn Alexander the following week giving us a real chance to advance to the NFC Championship. Can you name even two impact plays that Holdman has made as Lindsay's annointed WLB??? And don't blame Lindsay for McIntosh developing at a glacial pace, because he won't take the blame for that either. |

I've seen a couple of lindseys pressers and he seems like a real jackass. |
Re: Dolphins sign McCune off our practice squad
