Best vehicles under 50k.
OK, what vehicle would you pick if you were allowed to pick one, with the only stipulation being it has to be under 50k?
|
Re: Best vehicles under 50k.
I'm not a big fan of Ford but I just love the new Ford Shelby GT500.

Re: Best vehicles under 50k.

Toyota Avalon's are really nice. If you're looking for a larger car, I recommend it.

The absolute best car under $50k? C6 hands down.
Your question is too open ended, but I'll go ahead and assume you want a daily driver. If I had $50k to spend on a DD, I'd look at the Lexus GS. |

Well, in all honesty, this could help their sales. A lot of people stay away from the Mustang because it has no bells and whistles like other vehicles of similar money. It has an engine and a radio...outside of that, what amenities does it offer? If Mustang / Ford was smart, they would not do a wagon, or 4 door, they should throw GPS systems, and luxury amenities into the car and the sales would increase. |

Well, I got the impression that you were asking for opinions about what we would recommend. If thats not the case, and this is just a dream session, then I guess I'd have to go w/ a used C5 that's been TT'd by Lingenfelter. BTW, the GT500 is less than $50k ;) |

I had a chance to drive one a couple years ago. The car can go 0-60 in 3.9 seconds SKIPPING 2nd gear. Amazing. |

I had a buddy get one as a rental and he let me drive it and it was junk. First of all it is a 4 door which makes it to sedan like. Second of all, even with a V8 it has no power. |

Did you drive the RT 5.7 litre v-8 with the hemi??? Cause you should not be saying that. I test drove one and had it going sidways down the street. Did you also have the traction control on? Cause that will hurt the power a lot. |

Can you even rent an RT 5.7? If so, I'm gonna rent one for a day, and go buck wild! |

I doubt you can...they go from the 3.5 litre v-6 to the 5.7 litre v-8. Maybe you actually drove the v-6. |

Winner winner. THe BMW 3 series is a ridonkulous car. Feels like a fricking formula one car. Not that I know what that feels like but it feels like what I THINK a formula one car would feel like. |

Yes, it has good pickup, a tight suspension, and with all the goodies you can get like GPS, heated seats etc, it is quite a great car. I have tried to talk my wife into trading her car in for one, but it's so expensive. |

Wow, it's amazing how expensive vehicles have gotten! I have looked at several vehicles for my wife...an Infiniti g-35 coupe and sedan. BMW 330 (06), or BMW 328 / 335 (07). Mercedes C class (starts low but after you add options, becomes unaffordable). Dodge Charger RT. Cadillac CTS. Volvo S40. Audi A-4. It seems like all the decent cars cost 35k and up. I really like the BMW and the Infiniti, but we need more money in the budget to pull it off. We already pay $450 a month for my truck, $365 a month for her car, and my motorcycle is nearly paid off. |
Re: Best vehicles under 50k.
For value, you can't really beat a Honda, IMO. They drive great, are reliable, fuel efficient, and relatively cheap. You can get one decked out for under 25K.
I'm also impressed with Hyundai recently. They could represent a challenge to Honda. |
Re: Best vehicles under 50k.
I wouldn't mind picking up a subaru WRX, alot fun to drive if you can get over the "fast and furious look".
|
Re: Best vehicles under 50k.
I'd go with one of these:
*Mustang GT with money left over to build up the engine or a Shelby (under $50K with a trade-in) *Chrysler 300 with a HEMI and AWD *Charger with a HEMI *Magnum with a HEMI and AWD *Pontiac Grand Prix GXP *Cadillac CTS, STS, DTS *Buick Lucerne or Lacrosse *Mercury Milan, Montego Grand Marquis *Ford Five Hundred, Crown Victoria *Lincoln MKZ, Town Car |
