Who is Tony Romo?

Im sure people who watched the NFL network broadcast last night saw them pushing this "Who is Tony Homo?" program that will be aired tonight. Seriously this makes me sick, he's had a couple of good games, but I could really care less who he is. I really hate how the NFL does this, why are they pushing this guy so much. I mean im not just being a bitter skins fan, I mean come on the guy wins a couple games with loads of offensive talent around him and everyone is hanging from his nuts. I really hope he starts blowing it. Someone needs to tell the NFL network no one outside of Dallas cares. I can deal with a program about an established qb, someone who has proven he is good maybe. but come on. I don't know it just really pisses me off.

Re: Who is Tony Homo?

I dunno man, I think you're prolly just being a bit of a bitter skins fan. I don't think they make too many programs about accomlished QBs because we probably already know a lot about them. Everyone already knows pretty much most things about Brady, Favre, Manning because they had similar programs for them when they were rising stars. I think that most people, unless your a Skins fan, would probably be somewhat interested to hear the story of a guy who played at a Division IAA team and then just came on the field after four years of riding the pine and started winning games. People want to know about this guy. Does he have a lot of offensive talent around him, yes, but Bledsoe couldn't win with them, I hate to say it, but that boy can play.

PS - I hope next year Sean Taylor wipes that cookie eating grin off of Romo's goofy face permanently.

Re: Who is Tony Homo?

yeah, he's good, throws on the run really well, but I think their O-line is their achilles. It was a makeshift unit & they're overacheiving for the most part, but we saw what the saints did to them & remember how philly played them in the first game - pressure st. up the middle. Expect to see teams throw some new blitzes at him. He'll lose the ball some.

Re: Who is Tony Homo?

Dallas is "AMERICA'S TEAM" whatever the F that means, that's why he's been in the spotlight. If we had some no name QB play like that for us, he'd be getting the same publicity and I would not be complaining. I think Romo is good, but not polished, he will go into a funk for a while and probably re-emerged as a good nfl qb in the future.

The NFL is falling heads over heels over this guy and it's a joke, like you guys said I'd rather see some stuff about Brees.

He's a Cowboy so the NFL assumes the world has a freaking hardon for the team so we get this crap shoved down our throats.

The media is MORE crazy than usual his season. Somebody has a few good weeks, he's the next Elway. Maybe it's the lack of dominant teams. 2 weeks up, one week down. T. H....omo still has time to do a Rothlesberger

It's going to be on right before the Dallas v/s Alanta game so it would make some sense because alot of Dallas fans do not really know who he is. So I will give them a by on this one because its tied into their game.

I watched it and I didn't have a problem with it. Give the guy creidit becasue he has played pretty well. It's just how the media get's. We all know that.

Brady may be overhyped, but he's at least earned that status with his 3 rings. Romo on the other hand...

All I can say is that we beat him. I know we had a little luck that game but we still beat him and the media's beloved Cowboys. Hopefully will beat the Cowboys both times next season, hopefully in the same fashion in which we beat them in that second game last season. Homo's a flash in the pan! Campbell is obviously going to be the better QB!

I hope you are correct but its too early for either one of those QB's to make that statement.

Re: Who is Tony Homo?

I think all you guys are hating. He is having a great year. Highest QB rating in the NFL (a week ago) Dallas was 5-1 with him starting. Should have been 6-0 going into last week had we wouldn't have pull the miracle out of our ass. They had to add the guy to the pro-bowl voting. You are all just pissed because its dallas. They do this stuff everyone on a person who is having a very unexpected season. Kurt Warner, you dont remember how they beat that story in the ground. The guy deserves the attention. Dallas was not very good before he took over.

Hopefully, we will see some stuff like this on Campbell in the next year or two.

Why dont you people give credit where it is due. The guy is having a pretty damn good year. No one knows how good he will be next year, or if Campbell is going to be better than him. its too early. Fact remains, he has brought Dallas back to playoff hunt, his is 5-2, should be 6-1 as a starter.

He is getting credit from every media source possible. My problem is not with him getting credit. My problem is with the NFL having a program called WHO IS TONY ROMO. I don't care, for 6 weeks we have been hearing about this guy when there are so many other people deserving of it more. McNair has led his team to a 10-2 record, havent heard jack shit about him. While everyone may know him, and that defense is unbelievable, he has single handedly led his team to a victory late in the 4th quarter numerous times this season. He deserves a lot more credit than he has gotten. I just do not think a program on this guy is necessary. Yeah he came out of a small school and is enjoying success but so have a lot of other players.

Re: Who is Tony Homo?

Look guys he's having a great year and show a lot of promise but he's also the flavor of the month in the NFL, first it was Bruce gratwasky or what ever his last name is then Leinart and the media didn't stop talking about them then came Rome and had 6 great games, Now is Brees and V.Young and a little of Garcia if Campbell had came out of the bench and had amazing games and led the team to consecutive Victories he would also be on the spot light.

And believe me is better to see a special on Romo than another T.O interview

Re: Who is Tony Homo?

As much as a hate it Romo is pretty good. When a qb basically comes from nowhere and puts up the #'s Romo's putting up he's going to get some pub (especially if he's a cowbo). Let's face the guy has been lighting it up. Brees is getting his pub too.

If we had a guy that came off the bench and played that well i would hope he would get some pub too. Sounds like a little bit of bitter skins fan.

He's an arrogant little twerp! He deserves to be called Tony Homo or worse. I hope the Falcons knock that little grin of his off his face tomorrow, I would like nothing better! He makes me want to puke! I'd take Phillip Rivers, Eli Manning, Rothelisburger, Grossman, and Jason Campbell any day of the week before I took Homo!

The media yacks up most of the young upstart QB's when they're having, or have a good season. They've been through them all at some point in time. If you recall, we couldn't get any play during our preseason game with the Bengals because they talked about Carson Palmer the entire game. Maybe they'll drop some of those kudos on Jason next season.

you would say the same thing about Rivers if he played for the Cowboys. Romo is anything but arrogant. He seems pretty humble to me, happy to actually get a chance to play. And if you would take Rothelisburger and Grossman before him, you would probably be losing a lot right now. Romo has played head and shoulders better than those two this year.

Re: Who is Tony Homo?

Look, lets face it, the guy is playing great, he was undrafted got his shot and ran with it. The media attention has become a little rediculous, but then again i would not complain if Jason was getting the same pub. I dont think we should be worrying about anybody but the redskins and the horrible situation this team is in.

Also the guy who said he hates Tom Brady, are you serious, how could you hate a guy that plays the way he does, three superbowls in 4 years and still stays humble the whole way through, great QB who doesnt get the publicity he deserves

Actually I wouldn't say the same thing about Rivers because he's humble and also went to NC State. I actually would probably grudgingly like the Cowboys a very very very tiny very tiny little bit, if he was their QB, or probably not! Romo is obviously an arrogant little twerp and likes all the attention he's been getting recently, like Kobe Bryant said, "he probably wasn't hugged enough as a child." I can't wait for the Cowboys to fall out off playoff contention, go Falcons, at least tonight anyway! Also go Redskins!!!! We are going to shock the world tomorrow against the 'Aints!!!

In reference to Tom Brady, I agree that he's probably the most underrated QB in the NFL. He actually plays pretty well when it matters most, as opposed to his heavily hyped comtemporary Peyton Manning. I like Peyton Manning too, but the man just falls apart come playoff time. It is getting harder and harder to see Manning joining the likes of legendary sports figures such as John Elway and Phil Mickelson as guys who finally broke through after years of coming oh so close. Maybe it will happen someday, but I doubt it.

#56fanatic good synopsis on Tony Romo.

The guy made the Pro Bowl after 8 starts cant do much better than that. There are not many great qbs in the NFC and he is a top preformer this year and deserves it.

when the season dies for the skins do you guys usually talk about cowboys? there are many threads on the boys right now.

Re: Who is Tony Homo?

Can't take away the fact that Tony Romo has had a good year and pulled the Boys out of the fire, for the moment. I think his selection to the Pro bowl is more a testimonial of the relatively low QB quality in the NFC rather than his..........greatness.

How many other threads are on the cowboys???? Actually I don't see too many. This thread was started because the media and not Redskins fans are making a big deal of this guy. Ill give credit where it is due, Romo has been successful and no one can take that away from him. All I am trying to say is stop beating this thing into the ground, don't really want to hear about him anymore.

He deserves it over the numerous other NFC QBs with better stats and have played THE WHOLE SEASON? I think not. It's all a popularity contest. Hell, Vick has better numbers and made it last year. It's all about the flavor of the day.
