Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
Seriously, the guy could take a year off and go sailing in the Pacific and still get voted in

Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
Well, the o-line has been very good of late, and he's the only well-known name. I would really like to see Thomas get his due, though. That guy pulls with the best of them, and he's come back from a serious injury.

Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
Tony Romo third makes me want to fucking vomit.
|
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
And this could very well be my last post, because I was telling Gmanc on AIM that if Ethan Albright didn't make it I would slit my wrists.
Goodbye cruel world. |
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
samuels deserved it, so did thomas but he didnt get in. the o-line has been awesome lately
|
Samuels a Pro Bowler
A bit suprising.. Cooley, Taylor, Washington are alternates..

Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
Good for Samuels but a bit suprising.. Thomas deserved a nod as did Rock on ST..
|
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
I honestly think Samuels is, overall, our best lineman and Thomas is a very close second.
|
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
I wish Thomas would get the recognition he deserves. Seeing Tony Romo make it is pretty disappointing, he's been good, but putting him in the pro-bowl after only half a season as the starter isn't that great. I'm glad to see Taylor is first alternate again, but as long as B-Dawk plays Taylor is always gonna be first alternate. Seeing Cooley only make third alternate is pretty disappointing, he's had another great season and yet nobody cares.

Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
Most overrated goes to samuels with a close second being Roy Williams.

Boy Williams is overrated for sure, but Samuels.....?, I dont think so. As Gibbs said, we would have more players in if we were winning. Samuels deserves it, and Thomas as well. |
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
Sellers and Frost were really the only ones deserving to go for us.
|
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
Glad for Samuels. I thought he played well all season. He does sometime have trouble with speed rushers, but overall he has been solid.
|
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
Samuels has had a very good season.
I think he's one of our more underrated players at times. |

I agree..... He only started eight games, but he plays for the Cowboys , so I guess that explains it. There are others more deserving in my opinion. |

He's very good, but not dominant, in the running game and he'e great in pass protection. How many sacks has he allowed in the past few years? Not many. Moreover, he rarely gets flagged, doesn't cause locker room distractions or get in trouble with the law, is committed to the organization, etc. I have no clue why Redskins fans don't love the guy. |

I agree...there is no way he should be in! Let Favre go! Good for Samuels, he deserves it. |

Well said, I definitely agree. |

I'll have to go with Larry Allen as the most Overrated, De Angelo Hall also didn't deserved to go he gives to many plays. guys that got snubbed T,O hate him but he has had the best season in the NFC Newman Pac man Jones hate him but he has had a great year in all aspects Charless Woodson Leonard Little Asante Samuell lead in Int |

I guess for me it's because I hold him to a higher standard. Plus the last two years he didn't have the excuse of he was protecting the blindside. I just feel like I heard his name called on false starts at critical times too often the past few years. |
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
my best friend is a cowboy fan, and he hates roy williams. says he couldnt cover me or you. and i think cooley got a jam job

Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
Sellers should have made it last year as well as portis. that made me so mad. He probably should have gone this year too. Roy Williams makes me sick

Where's Carlos Rogers' name?

Garcia has better stats over the last 4 games, why not let him in? Point is, Homo has played 9 games out of 14. That's not enough, IMO, to make the Pro Bowl. Not to mention he's had a couple of bad games recently. |
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
i hate dallas, but i think romo has been the difference for dallas, and i think a lot of nfl players did too.i thought sean taylor deserved a spot before mr asswipe roy williams, and if betts had started his run earlier,he would have made it.one person who did'nt make it for dallas, who i thought desreved to be a starter in the pro bowl is mr touchdown marion barber.he desreves to be in it unless they decide not to play it anymore.and wtf was chris cooley?
the league is starting to hate the skins, and disrespect them almost as bad as all the other networks do,and that really pisses me off!i want to see them win the superbowl again, and shove that trophy up brian baldinger, terry bradshaw, michael irvin, and collinsworth/marino's fat asses so bad i'm putting on next year's xmas list! |
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
A lot of NFL analysts are saying Romo should not have gotten in. The fan voting helped him immensely

had to help him a lot i'm sure.but if you look at the value his play has kept the cowboys in the hunt for the nfc championship, how could he not get in?i still can't believe that samuels was the only skin to make it. |

By no means did I mean to say the guys is a future HoF-e. I just think he's a stud whose reputation was soiled by Spurrier's scheme and RBs not pass-protecting. Didn't he give up one sack in 2005? Or was that 2004? That's pretty amazing. Moreover, he's been going up against some great pass-rushing talent in the NFC East (e.g., Umenyiora, Howard, Ware) and doing well on a consistent basis. |

As much as I hate roy he has the best FS stats this year. He has alot of picks and tackles. He deserved it this year. |

Agreed. |
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
Hey im happy a redskin made it even if its not in a position that gets a lot of attention
|
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
Wow, that has to be one of the weakest NFC pro bowl roster I have seen in a long time.
p.s. I hope the NFC gets crushed in the SB and Pro Bowl. |
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
Samuels is one of those guys most won't appreciate until he's gone and we're struggling to try to find a quality left tackle.
|
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
look at who did'nt make it.tom brady,reggie bush,marion barber,dante hall,
santanna moss did'nt have the numbers, but how many times did michael irvin go when he should'nt have?how can they leave chris cooley off?tom brady would get my vote every year,so would vince young look what he's done for the titans! |
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
Romo does not deserve to be in the pro bowl ahead of Michael Vick. Vick has played all season, he's got comparable passing numbers, and he set the ALL TIME rushing record for a QB. Not to mention he'll probably finish with 1000+ rushing yards. How can you overlook that? Romo over Vick = total BS.
|
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
Vick = garbage.
I'd rather see Romo. |
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
Just a quick look at the stats on ESPN and instantly you can find like 4-5 QBs that are far more deserving than Romo.
|
Re: Death, Taxes, and Samuels in the Pro Bowl
Vick = garbage.
I'd rather see Romo.
Haha. Good argument. From NFL.com -Passing- Romo: 183 of 276 for 2440 yards and 16 TDs with 10 INTs (98.4) Vick: 187 of 354 for 2284 yards and 19 TDs with 11 INTs (77.9) -Rushing- Romo: 44 yards on 27 carries with no TDs Vick: 990 yards on 116 carries with 2 TDs I'd argue that both have been impact players for their teams, and have been major contributors to winning. However, Vick has started all 14 games, and Romo has only started in 8. Judging by passing numbers alone, I'd probably send Romo. But, when you consider that Vick will have over 1000 yards rushing, it's a no-brainer. How can you discount the rushing yards? |
