The Packers.
Because Green Bay is probably the best football town ever. Brett Favre is the most gutsy QB of all time. You have to love a town that has around 500k people and all of them are die hard fans. Green Bay is what football is all about.

Also, The Packers aren't all about Me, me, me...they are and have always been a team by the best definition of the word.

I have been a Skins fan since 1971 when I was 7 years old. I grew up in North Carolina back in those days there was not a Panthers team and most folks from NC were Skins fans. So I suppose if I were not a lifelong skinsfan I would be a Panthers fan.

I hope your poll/question is not an indication that you think Skins fans will be looking for a new team to root for soon.

Not at all.
Just curious, the Packers game tonight made me think of that.
My wife and I just snuggled under a blanket, dimmed the lights, shared a bowl of popcorn with the fire place roaring. We both love to watch Brett Favre.

this is a hard one........I really dont know who to pick. I dont really have a "second favorite" team. There are a few teams that I pull for on sundays but its usually out of pity, not because I like them. Teams like Det,Cle,Arz(now that they are out of the NFC east). Those teams have all been horrible for a long time and being a Redskins fan I can relate.

I love how the Packers are "owned" by the fans. That's pretty cool. Growing up I used to root for the Browns. Loved Kosar, Byner, Mack, Slaughter, Minnifield...

But anyway I'd say today my second favorite team is the Titans. Been that way for about 10 years. When I was living in Puerto Rico after college we used to get the satelittle feed from Tennessee so I got hooked on all teams from Tennesse since that's all I'd see.

Yeah, my mom is from Puerto Rico. I go there all the time. I went there about a month after I graduated from college to spend a couple of weeks with my cousins. Stumbled across a job there, moved in with my uncle, lived there for a year.

The Lions were always my second favorite team in the 90's, but I really could care less about them at this point. I tend to alternate between liking teams and hating teams, with the Skins being the only team I always root for, and the Cowboys, Eagles, Giants, and Ravens being the converse teams I always root against. This year I like the Saints and the Chargers, like everybody else. I like the Packers. I like the Bills. Steelers. Old line small market teams with passionate fans. My mother is from Chicago so I tend to support the Bears. My favorite contemporary player is McNair - even though he's a Raven now, I can't bring myself to like him any less (although I don't have a problem rooting for him to lose).

I think that's great to live in another culture and learn the way other people live. I enjoy visiting other countries, but I have yet to go to Puerto Rico. I did however, see it from the cruise ship on my way to St. Thomas.

it used to be the oilers upon moving to texas,thought it was great getting casserly here,but have now changed my mind about casserly,man is he catching shit here,but i digress,skins first,texans 2nd,titans 3rd,love Vince ,Texans should have drafted him,it doesnt matter how hw turns out in the long run,fans will forgive a screw up like that if he turns out bad,but letting him go to the titans and your ex-owner and kicking your ass is unforgiveable!!!!!!!!

Well the pay was horrible, but that's why I lived with my uncle. But you gotta pay your dues somewhere. The experience was great, and without it I probably don't make it to ESPN today. Plus I mean I was living in Puerto Rico in the wintertime! Can't beat that

Since I've always been a "hometown team" kind of guy I guess I would have to root for the Panthers. Maybe a Ravens fan but I think here in SW VA we would receive the Panthers games as a local game.

I think I would be a Steeler fan because alot of my good friends live in PA and are Steeler fans. Good times on Sunday's at the Steeler fan club and drinking Iron City draft while watching the games.

That's tough. The Colts left Baltimore when I was young...or I would have said them. But I couldn't root for the Ravens...no f'ing way.

I followed the Oilers and Bills growing up. There was just something about watching Warren Moon and Jim Kelly move their offenses up and down the field. The Bengals too, as I have family that lives outside Cincy. And Boomer went to Maryland, so that made it easy to watch them.

So I guess I'd say "Who dey! Who dey! Who dey think gonna beat dem Bengals?"

Probaboly the Bills because they are the hometown team. I used to HATE them as a kid, but I root for them now because it tends to be a lot more fun during football season when they are good.

I used to sort of like the ravens, especially since my old college roommate loved them so I would see most of their games but I really can't stand them anymore. At first i figured that since they're from Maryland and they play in AFC that it was okay to like them unless they were playing the Skins. But, ever since they won the super bowl their fans have become unbearable to the point that I can't stand the entire team (like the eagles).

Now, I know it's kind of bandwagon-ish but I like the Chargers. LT is such an amazing talent that I think it's hard not to root for him, and I've followed Shawn Merriman since his days at UMD (and I still will even after the whole roids thing). So I guess the Chargers are my second favorite team now, but every other team is so far removed from the Skins that they barely register.

Probably the Steelers, because they have always run their franchise the right way in my opinion. They are fiscally prudent with the cap, and they have used the draft wisely to bring in many of their core guys. They don't overspend to keep their own, and more importantly they don't overspend to bring in outsiders. Their fanbase is one of the broadest and most knowledgable. Lastly, their next head coach may be former Hog Russ Grimm.

Probably the Packers or the Chargers.

The Pack because I love Favre, love Lambeau, and I love their rich history with Lombardi, Starr, etc. They just always have that old school feel.

The Chargers because as a kid way before I was a Skins fan I had this Chargers shirt that I loved, I think I had my class picture in 1st or 2nd grade in that shirt, I'll have to look for it sometime. When Humphries was their QB and took them to the Super Bowl I was a closet fan... plus I just like their uniforms, especially the powder blues with the white helmets. Best uniforms in all of sports IMO.

I have to say Saints - for all that has happened to those people down there they deserve something. Plus my wife is from Alabama and that is her favorite team so I root for them as well.

I'd have to go with the Chiefs. I've never been there, but it looks like a great atmosphere at Arrowhead. They always have a great rushing attack (more appealing to me than qb's).

Since I live in a town with a lot of transplants from other cities, I've been around a lot of fans from other teams and Chiefs fans seem passionate yet down to earth.

San Diego would be second. I spend a lot of time there. Small city, perfect weather, makes for a great experience.

I remember when the Senators left DC for Texas. I rooted for Frank 'Hondo' Howard to smack the long ball, listened to the games on radio while driving from errand to errand, etc. .. then it was gone! I really have not followed baseball since then. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad when the home town Nationals win - but baseball has lost its allure for me. I found other things to do with my time, energy, family, and money (not necessarily in that order). I suppose if the Redskins were not in the DC community, then I would not bother with the NFL at all. I would no longer have a vested interest to root for any NFL team.

I can't imagine being a true fan of any other team other than the Redskins. My Father is from Cleveland, and he first got me interested in watching pro football on a six inch black and white Motorola TV. He was a great fan of the Browns, so I grew up being a Browns fan. We moved to DC in 1951, purchased season tickets, and the rest is history. The Browns at that time were in the NFC east, and when Jim Brown arrived in 1956 they along with the Giants pretty much ruled the division. For a while we had mixed emotions whenever the Browns came to town.

There is just something about the Skins that is in my blood. When I was very young my dad was both a Skins and Colts (Baltimore) fan. Networks in Roanoke VA carried both but soon only carried the Skins. By that time I was their fan and they were playing Miami in their first Super Bowl and running around tyher back yard in my Skins helmet (with the "R" logo) and my Larry Brown jersey.
I can't say who I would be a fan of other than my Skins. So I choose no one and would spend more time watching hockey.

Texans. I'm from tx, and hate the cowboys... I never really cared for the oilers as a kid, though... but could see pulling for them to pull themselves from the pit of the AFC cellar.

Living here in Nashville, I would be Titans fan. Because I coach middle-School football, I was able to work the Steve McNair QB camps over the several years he played here. While I was there I had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Steve McNair, Troy Smith(The Ohio State), and Vince Young. There were other QB's there too, but those three stood out the most. VY is a great guy, and great with kids! We would often talk about his coming to the Titans. He is very humble and great for the Game!

COLTS. Gotta love Peyton and that offense. I enjoy watching them play more than any NFL team over the past 5 years. My dad is also from Indianapolis so it gives me another in. Too bad they can't win or even get to the BIG ONE.
