If the Giants win they are in!
This is perfect! I know, I know, our season is shot, but at least we get a chance to take down the VAgiants. The G-men will be in the playoffs if they can walk out of FedEx with a victory on Saturday night. I know I will be there going nuts and cheering our Skins on. Imagine the mayhem we could cause in NY by knocking the Gaints out of the playoffs while they lose 7 of their final 8 games?? Coughlin firing, definite Tiki retiring, front office implosion, Burress explosion, Eli benching??? I don't know about you, but I will have a wonderful feeling of satisfaction if we can wallop the Giants at FedEx on national television, prime time, saturday night for the whole world to see. Don't check out yet folks. Hope to see you at the game! Go SKINS!!!

Re: If the Giants win they are in!
That is good news, and I will be excited to watch the game. Makes me sad though that the Skins couldn't find a way to get close to the playoffs in a year in which playoff spots are being given away.

Re: If the Giants win they are in!
I think its been "if they win they get in" for 7 weeks now...lol
|
Re: If the Giants win they are in!
If the defense can play at least half way decent, there's no reason why we shouldn't get the win, that unfortunately is a big "if".

That's so true and so sad (for them). |
Re: If the Giants win they are in!
As long as we play like we have been the past few weeks, I think we'll beat the Giants...they are in worse shape than we are.
|
Re: If the Giants win they are in!
It doesn't matter. I just want us having a great game so that we have something to build towards next season for. It would be nice to spoil the Giants' playoff hopes though.
All I'm say is, I wouldn't mind seeing a San Diego Chargers/New Orleans Saints Super Bowl this year. |
Re: If the Giants win they are in!
Yes, a win on saturday will help the hopes of this team and keep them together.
|
Re: If the Giants win they are in!
Yeah! Let's send Tiki out with a loss and no playoffs! Playoffs?! Playoffs?! What are you kidding me?! HA HA HA!
|
Re: If the Giants win they are in!
i'll be there too.
|
Re: If the Giants win they are in!
How bad is the NFC this year? It makes our piss poor season that much more disappointing because all you had to do was show a pulse and you were in. Oh well. Merry Christmas and hopefully we get a top 5 pick.
|
Re: If the Giants win they are in!
the way our offense is playing right now, all we need is alittle life from our defense, and we will beat the giants
|
Re: If the Giants win they are in!
I'd love to go into this game with all our defensive weapons available (Washington, Springs, Daniels) and I use weapons loosely, but I think if we can hold the passing game in check we'll go out and win. I'm so tired of the Tiki loving it will be fitting to see him go out without a playoff bid on a team that's fracturing at it's core.
|
Re: If the Giants win they are in!
Knocking the Giants out would be sweet. Just as sweet as watching Romo (4 TD's/7 INT's last 4 games) and the Boys lose yesterday to the Eagles. How nice it would be for Detroit and Atlanta to win next week.
|
Re: If the Giants win they are in!
Playing spoiler would be great. But I'm really worried about how our D will hold up with all the injuries. Tiki always has good games against us.

If we had Campbell from day 1, I truely feel we'd be in the playoffs right now. Not by much mind you, since our D sucked all year, partly due to flaws, and a lot to do with injuries, but we'd have 7 or 8 wins right now. |
Re: If the Giants win they are in!
I can't handle being the ONLY team from the NFC East not in the playoffs - the Gyants must lose!

I feel we are better and we will play spoiler. |
Re: If the Giants win they are in!
If the Giants get in, whether it be by beating the skins or everyone else losing, then the NFL should cancel this years play-offs. Rule the season as invalid the same as experimental test results are sometimes deemed invalid.

I don't know that Campbell would have been the difference maker, but I will say this -- the defense played well enough in losses to Minnesota (lost 19-16), at New York (lost 19-3) and the second Philly game (lost 21-19). By winning those three, we're 8-7 and right in the thick of the playoff hunt. Even the 25-22 loss to Tennessee was somewhat manageable -- remember the veteran savvy of Mark Brunell throwing a pick into quadruple coverage on Santana Moss? What hurt us in those games was the offense -- they were catatonic against the Vikings, and played like it was still preseason; woeful and inept in NY; while Campbell's inexperience led to 14 easy points for the Eagles. There's lots of 'woulda, coulda, shoulda' this year. But when your defense holds the opponent to around 19 or 20 points, and your offense can't pick it up a knotch, you don't deserve to participate in the postseason. |

I also recall the defense getting shredded by Travis Henry for a buck 80. |

No joke. Teams are backing in left and right in the NFC. The AFC has 4-5 teams as good or better than the Bears. |

We'd likely have at least 1 more win though, probably 2, although we could have left Brunell in and got the same effect, albietit costing JC any expierence.
This is a prime example of how making a QB change to a younger QB can cost a team wins, but it was necessary to get us in position to win next season. |

Really?!?! Only two come to mind that are as good as or better, maybe three. Buts thats it. The other AFC teams offense would crumble when facing the Bears D. JMO... |

there are alot of times the skins piss me off. but if they were in the same situation as the giants are right now, i would want the skins in the playoffs. i am the type that the coaching staff could always fix what is ailing the skins. maybe giants fans dont feel the same love for their coaching staff? |

Again, being able to score more than 25 against the Titans at home should have been manageable. Also notice that I didn't include that game as one of the three we could have won, putting us in a possible 8-7 record. It's just an example of a game where the offense should have picked it up a notch. |

The Titans' offense held a huge advantage in time of possession holding the ball for over 35 minutes. Also, the fact they were facing a rookie QB makes it even worse. It goes both ways, the chicken or the egg argument I guess. |

Is it bad that it took me a couple of minutes to get that? |
Re: If the Giants win they are in!
Hey this is gonna be my first time going to see the redskins at FedEx and it would make my freakin' day if we stomped the hell out of the Giants. Can't wait. Hope to see yall at the game.

Not this season. Yes, the coaching staff as you mentioned. Secondly, I just don't like this team. They are a hard group to root for. I met someone who knows a lot of the players, she went to a bday party for Umenyiora and Gibril Wilson the day after the Bears game. For the record, she is a GORGEOUS, african-american hottie, probably about 22 years old, and has the body to be a high earning exotic dancer at Scores, VIP's or any other expensive club. Anyway, I was telling her that in a way I am glad I do not know any of these guys. I honestly do not think I would like these guys.
Of course, next week, I will be pulling for them to knock off Philly or Dallas, and if they manage to do so, will pull for them to get revenge on Chicago and so forth. However, I do not think I will overly excited next weekend. |
Re: If the Giants win they are in!
hey coggs, congrats and good luck. and if you guys play philly, i hope you guys kick the crap out of them. any chance on strahan playing, or is he done for the year?
|
Re: If the Giants win they are in!
I'm really disappointed we couldn't knock the Giants off... but then again they should be an easy win for someone in the first round so it should be fun seeing them get embarrassed in the playoffs again.

Well if you can't see your own team embarrassed then why not root for one of the three teams in your division that "did' make the playoffs.:spank: |

Thanks for the wishs and no Strahan is on IR right now I'd rather have the guys that want to play out there .IMHO we'll lose but I'm also with Goggs the Giants need a new coaching staff I would love to have the Skins but since that won't happen ...I like Ty Willingham . |

Root for another team in the division?? That 2-6 finish must be really playing with your head. |
