Next Time On line I'll Be a New Dad
 

I just talked to my wife and her doctor is going to enduce labor this Sat. at 6:00 am. This is our first child and my second as I have a daughter who is 21. I know, one moves out and I start all over again. We do not know if its a boy or a girl only that he or she will be here sometime Saturday. I was planning on watching the game but I guess some things have to come before football. Its funny this has been coming for 81/2 months and we both feel that we have a tone of stuff that is still not done but I guess its too late now. So you guys yell and drink one for me and I'll let you know how thing go next week when I'm back at work. Internet at home does not work.

Incidentally, my sisters are 20 and 23 years younger than me - it's still fun not being an only child anymore.

Congrats! The hospital where my 3 kids were born had TVs in the room. I had 2 kids born in September so that put my mind at ease. I never had to watch a game there but it was nice to have a backup plan.

Is this your wife's first child? Our first child took forever. The doctor started the induction process at 7am and my daughter didn't arrive until almost 3am the next day.

6:00 am inducement? Doctors can be so cruel. They know you'll be up all night prior thinking about everything under the sun. I guess the good thing with that is your more likely to spend less overnight time at the hospital. Hope everything goes fantastic for you guys.

Anyways, Good luck to you and God Bless!!!!!![/quote]Thanks man for the thought of the 18 hour birth. Her doctor said that the child is ready to come and it should not take too long so I hope she's right. They have TV's but I dont think they will have the NFL channel. And yes this is her first.

Thats what I said "Why so early" but maybe she will be tired come around 7:45pm and will want to go to sleep. Game Time! My last daughter was induced at the same time and at the time I was playing in a band. I got home at 3:00am and up at 4:30am and off we went but I was 21 then so it was not that bad.

good luck, but 42 years old and a newborn in the house? what the hell were you guys thinking? my wife and i were just talking about this very thing. i have 2 kids, the youngest being 14, and no way would i want to go thru that again. but, to each his own. good luck, and god bless

i'm guessing your going to chesapeake general ? my wife had both of our kids there. they induced labor for my first one and it went really fast, my wife was only in labor for a couple of hours.

I know what your saying about 42 and a new born in the house but my wife is 8 yrs younger and it took three yrs for her to get pregnant. That was the best part three yrs of trying!

congrats, good luck and god bless[/quote]No we are going to Obici in Suffolk which is close to our home and I have 2 friends that work there which have said they will check in with them to make sure that they are doing what they should. So that adds a little comfort. I hope it goes as quick as yours.

I'm the only person who can sign the checks for the business and if she wants to get paid. Not really I just let her think she is the boss at work and she does my work. Now I'm going to have less free time at the office.

Well we had a little girl who is doing very good. She was 5 pounds 12 ounces and came out eyes wide open and really strong. She is now home and the sleepless nights have begun but thats OK with me. I really wanted a boy but when she came out and I saw she was a girl my heart just melted and I would not change a thing. It was just amazing to watch her birth and if you ever have any children do not miss watching their birth. Its was a short delievery and she was born on Sat. the 30th at 3:08 come around 9:00pm my wife was out and I got a chace to get home and catch the second half of the game. I have not seen any thing on the first half except of the hit on JC and man it was nice to see him finish the game. I was very impressed with the way he played and hope its a sign of thing to come. Thanks to all for the kind words and now we have another Skins fan which I can't wait to take her to her first game.

Congratulations! My second is due Jan. 19th. I gotta tell you, maybe b/c I'm older, but having a kid is really a life-changing event and I am not just talking about diapers. Having that little lump of salami be totally dependent on you really changes your whole perspective on life. In a good way.

My first is 3 1/2 and I am having a blast.

BTW - What's the newest Skins' fan's name?

I have a 21 yr old who I raised by myself for most of her life and it was the most rewarding thing I've ever done. She looks to my current wife (which is my second and last) as her mother and is as happy as we are. My new borns name is "Grayson Alexandra" and our older daughter came up with the name Grayson which makes it even more special for her.
