So I know we started talking about this in another thread. I think a lot of us are planning to go to the first day of training camp on the 31st.

Who's in? Where and when should we meet?

I'm planning on being there from the 31st thru at least the 2nd, and probably thru the 6th.

I'll probably get there earlier than most folks each day, so whenever everyone else wants to meet up is fine with me.

This is the first time in a few years that I wont be able to make it up for training camp. I'm going to Myrtle beach the one week that its actually open to the public. Oh well, at least I'm gonna make it to some games.

I'm not sure if I'm going to be there all day or just for one session, but as it gets closer I'll have a better idea. It would be great to finally meet some of you guys!

I want to really badly but since i'm about to start a new job it'd look kinda bad if I'm already asking for a day off. If I have a couple days off in a row though I'm gonna try my hardest to get there for atleast one day.

I don't know yet and my schedule will flucuate week to week :( . but i'm trying to visit some friends in dc sometime during the second week of Aug. and will try to go to camp on one of the days I'm there.

Pretty much anything you need to know is in there. Expect it to be hot, humid and generally miserable-- like most midsummer days in Virginia. That means you should bring plenty of cold beverages (except alcohol-- not permitted). Bring a comfortable chair also, and try to arrive as early as possible, as it's going to be crowded as hell, and you'll want to get a good spot. You may want to bring some cash for food and souvenirs also.

I'll be there. Just let me know where you guys want to meet.

Wish I could be there... in fact, was planning on being at camp a couple of days this year. However, bought a new house and am now renovating the old one, moving and looking for tenants all by Aug. 15th. For the past three weeks, I have been getting up at 5 a.m., painting/spackling/sanding until ~7, going to work, coming home ~6, eating dinner then p/s/s until 10-11 - then repeat. It is also one of the reasons I haven't been able to post much the past few weeks. By Sept. 12th, I will be done or I will be dead - If I ain't dead, I will be celebrating on opening day. If I am dead, call my wife - highest bidder can have my season tickets. :rofl:


Sorry, didn't mean to ramble. Just wish I could be there, but I will be a bit busy and probably won't make it.

BTW, if anybody knows someone who needs an apartment in Baltimore, give em my number. :frusty:

Daseal talked to me about this before. If he's still up for it, we'll be there.

Camp opens at 9, and I think we should be there for the opening of the gate. First day of camp with Gibbs back in charge. It's gonna be nuts!

Maybe we should think of a place where we can all meet. If it starts at 9, then we should meet up around 8:30.

Yeah, I'd like to be there by 830 at the latest.

I would suggest arriving as early as possible. I'm not sure what time they'll start letting people in, but I would suggest arriving no later than 8:30am for the morning practice. I suspect a lot of people will probably get there early and hang out in the grass parking lot until they start letting people in the gate.

That first Saturday practice is probably going to be packed, so the earlier you get there, the better.

Looks like I'll be there, and I'm bringing my son with me. He's two and a half (in fact, this will be his half birthday, if there is such a thing). I can't wait for my first training camp experience.

I've been to a bunch of games, but this seems more exciting somehow. Maybe it's introducing my son to it all, or the return of Coach Gibbs - maybe it's just that this is [u]raw football[/u].

I'm definitely going to be there on Sat but my Dad and fiance are tagging along so I might not be that fun to hang with that day, LOL.

Still, I'd really like to meet you guys. I'm not sure where to meet up since I've never been there before. Maybe I'll try to post some pics of myself tonight if I remember. If not look for a guy about 6'3, 230 with a white Arrington jersey, cargo shorts and sandles, short light brown hair, sideburns and a goatee. My fiance is only about 5 feet tall, so if you see a big guy with a short girl that's probably me, lol.

You guys ain't hooking up without me!
Me and the lovely wife will be there and maybe have our teenage kids with us too.

It better quit fricking raining tho.

We really should make some type of signs to hold because finding guys you don't know is tough. We met at Draft Day and Redskins fans "All Look Alike" in a sea of jerseys.

I may get some hard paper or cardboard and write thewarpath.net on it. Besides finding people we will spread the URL.

I'd like to see some players join this forum too.

Yeah I pretty much fit the same description. Except I'll be with my screaming buddies. No kid. I plan on wearing a warpath t-shirt.

Hey guys, I just got word the gates will be opening tomorrow morning promptly at 8:00AM, so be sure to get there prior to that to secure a good spot in the entrance line, and therefore on the sidelines.

I just got back from camp, got to meet Joe, cpayne, Daseal and Smootsmack!

Very cool to finally put faces to names, had a good time, I'll post my pics as soon as I get back home to NY tomorrow. Got some good pics of Brunell, Gibbs, Ohalete and Hamdan as they came by for autographs.

Sorry you couldn't make it SBF, I was looking forward to meeting you! Another time.

Sorry I didn't get to hang out with you guys after practice-- got stuck in the press conferences. Got checked into my hotel room (free broadband internet kicks butt!) so I should have the first interview clips uploaded soon, before I head out for the next practice.

got out there at 7:40, settled in at the far 40 yard line, right against the mesh wall. I gave SBF a call and he couldn't make it, so no pork BBQ :(... Unfortunately there were about a million people out there, so I had trouble finding anyone else...

either way, I saw bowen grab an int, and thrash get welcomed back... portis embarrassed the defense and 46 embarrassed himself. Simon got to the hole, and coles picked up everything in sight. Smoot had a good day, though he seems to catch balls away from his body, unlike the other WR/PR/KRs, which seemed odd. Gibbs came up to thanks the fans personally after first practice, and dan stayed in the background... I was hoping to see sean running around, but he was left standing on the sidelines.

overall it looked really good... I was planning to stay, but it was hot as hell and i couldn't find anyone (and i was wearing all black on a sunnny day... that's cause i'm smart...), so I left around 11... the parking lot/field was a traffic nightmare, but no worse than expected...

I DO think i saw joe crisp (were you wearing a shirt with dark blue and white stripes? if so you were standing in front of me the entire time), but he looked like he was working, so i didn't want to bother him ;)

overall it was pretty good though... the guy next to me kept mistaking 46 for portis and that was a bit annoying :D

No, that wasn't me, I was wearing my Warpath t-shirt with a Portis autograph on it. I spent most of my time lurking around the Post, Times and AP reporters trying to glean some info and pick up some pointers on how to do this reporting thing-- you can never stop learning, and these guys are some of the best to learn from.

I did get to meet Matt, smootsmack, daseal and cpayne5, and that was really cool. I was disappointed that SBF couldn't be there, I was really looking forward to seeing the fireworks of a heated political debate between SBF and Daseal! Brud called me before I headed out of the media room for practice, but I didn't get to meet him. There were a ton of people there-- estimated at 5,000-- so I was glad that I was at least able to meet a few of you guys amidst the throng of Redskins fans.

It was great to meet everyone! Some Guy, I think you might have actually parked next to Cpayne and me. He was driving a black honda.

heh, i was in a light blue station wagon (mecury sable, same thing as a ford taurus).
Sorry i missed you all, it was still fun though :) (now if only it wasn't so hot)
