Beach Blitz Back For 07
 

I think several members went to the beach blitz last year in Va Beach and can fill us in on how much fun they had.Its back again in 2007. The dates will be May 18 to 20th.

A CURSE....? NO SUCH THING! The Beach Blitz last year was a blast! Had a chance to play golf with a great lineup of skins,lead by Greg Williams, CLASS ACT! Got rained out after four holes. However, we got the best of both worlds....spent the day in the clubhouse with the skins/coaching staff. Then recieved a rain check. Goin back for more, we got the first two tics for this years golf outing at the TPC...CAN'T WAIT! HOW BOUT THOSE REDSKINS!

Come to think of it, I don't know that I've ever actually seen one here. But then, I tend to avoid the tourist spots.

he was a painter when he lived up here. when he moved, he got hooked up with a guy from there and together got the bull thing going. he told me he is making great money, and hardly doing anything to earn it

Well I just found out that I'm gonna be there. My wife woke me up and told me that we're going because since I may miss the draft party she thought I would like this.

Yeah we're looking at all the stuff that's going on. Were there alot of players there last year ? I understand that there will be a butt load of people there making autographs pretty hard to get. Just wondering how much of my stuff I can get signed. I hope Smoot is there because he signed a Redskins parking sign of mine with #21 so he needs to re-up this joint !

It just so happens that I'm going to be in Virginia Beach for a wedding that weekend (imagine the luck) and have got my tickets for the Blitz. I'd also be interested in anything anyone can tell me about how autographs work and how difficult they are to obtain. I have a couple of things I'd like to get signed (helmet, mini helmet, football) for my personal collection and from the list of players currently attending my #1 target would be Chris Cooley. Any info that those of you who attended the event last year can offer would be great (difficulty of getting autos, how auto sessions work, when auto sessions are scheduled). Thanks in advance.

They have not put out a list of commited players and coachs yet. Should be out anytime, gettting graphs and stuff should not be any problem.

We play in the golf event so hanging out with the players/coachs and getting anything signed is a piece of cake.

They continue to add to the list, but there is a list of committed players up on Redskins.com (and it is not the list from last year, this is a new one). Cooley, Ladell Betts, Chris Samuels, among others. I'm hoping Jason Campbell will be there. I'd like the Miami guys (Rocky McIntosh is committed apparently, but I'm talking Portis, Moss, Taylor obviously) to be there, but I'm thinking that is probably much less likely. As far as alumni, Gary Clark and Dexter Manley will apparently be on hand.

You might want to narrow it down, I kind of suspect a lot of people (including myself) will be wearing #21 jerseys (if for no other reason than you could pick up an authentic one pretty cheap last summer, at least I did - and not one of those eBay knock offs either).

Last year we helped to promote the Beach Blitz here in exchange for some free posters, which I never got around to giving away I'm embarrassed to say. LOL

I'll let you guys know if they hook me up with any free Beach Blitz stuff this year.

$165, seemed pretty good for a real authentic. I had gotten burned by some eBay junk and this one wasn't all that much more than the fakes. Makes all the difference.

I went to the blitz last year. The way that it worked las year was; on each day of the event; starting on Friday they had certain players available to sign autographs.

The autograph time limit per group was about 2 hours. The grouping was usaually done by position. OL,DL,WR,RB etc. I dont know if the Redskins will put out a list of who will be attending on which days or not.

The beach blitz is comin up next weekend. This list of players/coachs/alumni...is growing. Gonna be a GREAT time for all. Be sure to come check out the Va. beach blitz. GREAT TIME!

Yea, it really is a great time! We are playing golf with the boys Saturday.
Last year was a hoot, but lots of rain.....this year looks like mighty nice weather!

I know I'm pretty new to the site, but it would be cool to meet any of you guys that come down. I don't play golf, but I will be there on Friday and probably part of Sat too. On Friday I will have a 70th anniversary throwback jersey with "33" and Baugh on the back. Come up and say "Hey".

Can anyone who went last year offer me any tips on getting autographs? I have a few things I'd like to get signed if I get a chance. Is it pretty organized with lines or is it more haphazard? Are there set times for autograph sessions and are those posted? Really I'd appreciate any info you guys could offer up.

Not yet, the list has not been released yet. Probably won't know until Saturday A.M.

We do have a pretty good idea though, being this isn't PFT we'll have to wait and see.

i cant make it to the beach until sunday . does anyone know if it is even worth me comming there for the last day? are there any events scheduled for sunday? and if so does anyone have info about times and events? please respond..id luv to go and see the guys too only i hour from here

They have set times but not all the players are at all the signings. I didn't see anywhere last year with specific times for specific players. It is pretty organized, but the lines were very long last year, well over an hour wait.

On Sunday it appears the Football Challenge will be open from 10am - 4pm and there will probably be two or three signing sessions, but other than that all the events are Friday & Sat.
